I was watching my daughter exit my wife, and I all of a sudden had this transcendental moment where I was floating above the pool in the Airbnb, and I was watching myself watch her. And it was such a surreal experience that I just wish it for every man to go through that. How did he mature, and what was his portal in the process with you and your daughter?
But I look at the equivalent for a man and for, for her father as the actual, like, long-game journey of caring for the family. Like, the ins and outs on a daily basis of, like, do I have what it takes to hold this together? Which is like a— it's like a daily death and rebirth to feel that pressure.
Yeah.
And to keep going, right? And I know mothers have their own ex— you know, I'm caring for this child, I'm nurturing it. But really, the man, if we're looking at a a model that works is that he's holding it together so that the family can thrive. And it was like something like just I saw snap into place for him where it's like his business took off, you know, super talented designer, builder. His company took off like his life organized in such a way that was like, there is no other option. This is what it is. Like the ego death that happened. So significant. And I think that that's really the, like, the walkabout, let's say, that happens for the man, um, is that ego death. And that happens every day over the course of years, potentially for the rest of a man's life if he stays present with fatherhood.
