A short YouTube newsletter video (Feb 2010) in which Josh Trent of the Wavehouse Athletic Club demonstrates a "floor prone runner" exercise. He explains setup (push-up position with sliding discs), breathing cues (exhale to bring foot forward, inhale to return), and offers a modification using yoga blocks or elbows for those with shoulder issues. He closes by inviting viewers to call the club (858-228-9337) for questions.

Hey guys. Happy New Year. This is Josh from the Wavehouse Athletic Club. Thanks for clicking on the link. Today we're going to review a floor prone runner. Now, if you have any pre existing shoulder issues or any conditions going on with your shoulder, you're going to want to use these yoga blocks that we have downstairs. We're going to start in a regular push up position. You're going to take one of these discs and slide them back to your foot. Grab the other disc, slide it back to your foot. So you're holding this position with your buttocks tight and your head slightly lifted, pushing your chest from the ground. You're going to breathe out, bring the foot forward and then breathe back in, bringing it towards the back of the room. So exhale, inhale. If you want to go up a little bit, you can go alternating at the same time. Now, if you have any shoulder issues, you can bring these yoga blocks down to that prone position. Hold yourself down on your elbows. It's going to create more of a core demand and maybe just holding that position, bringing the foot forward a little bit and bringing the other foot forward to match it. So if you have any issues or any concerns, give us a call upstairs or at the club. 858-228-9337. Have a great New Year's.
