A short transcript excerpt from a YouTube video (hosted/posted by Josh Trent) featuring Alison Armstrong discussing emasculation and gender dynamics. Armstrong contrasts past norms (1991) with modern conversations, references her workshops originally called "Celebrating Men Satisfying Women," and gives examples of emasculation (e.g., ignoring a man) while noting women often ignore their own needs.

Starting with the point of view that a man should be like a woman. Then everything just falls naturally from there. When we started doing our workshops, it was called Celebrating Men Satisfying Women. And just saying the name women would have a reaction. What's there to celebrate? They're all assholes. What we do to others, we do to ourselves. Like, one way to emasculate a man is to ignore him. We'll women do that with their own needs all the time. We're exhausted and we ignore it and keep going. I love that emasculation has become a conversation, because in 1991, when I gave it up, it was not. It wasn't something people talked about, and especially it wasn't something to not do. It was something to do.
