This is a short transcript excerpt from a YouTube interview between host Josh Trent and clinician Richard Schwartz. The guest explains clinical work with sexual offenders and other violent offenders using an internal "parts" framework: offending parts can be traced to scenes of the person being abused in childhood (not always sexually), where a part adopted the perpetrator's power to protect the self and later became stuck with that perpetrator energy, producing impulses to harm vulnerability. When these parts are retrieved from the past and healed, they can transform back into healthier, valuable states.
