A short monologue by Josh Trent (YouTube, Feb 9, 2023) examining why people pursue money. The speaker argues that societal pressures (e.g., consumerism and beauty standards) drive desires for money—illustrated by women altering their appearances—and contends that seeking money to fix self-unhappiness makes business motivations self-serving rather than spiritual.

For most people, they don't realize this, but the deep underlying reason why they want money is because the world tells them that they need to buy certain things, own certain things, and look a certain way. Look at women, right? Look at what's happening with our beautiful women who are injecting their mouths, who are altering their bodies, who are changing their faces. Why is that? And ladies, I love you, but it's because you are not happy with yourself. Because when you're truly happy with yourself, you do not alter yourself because you love yourself for who you are. So for as long as that is your secret motivation for money, then your business isn't a spiritual business, it's a self serving business.
