You can't just say that and move on. How have you not— how do I have the chills? I— that's a visceral reaction. How do you have— you— how, how, how, how, how? About a year ago to the day, I did a watch me crash out video. In fact, I did 2 videos, and I thought, why not revive that? Why not make sure my heart beats a little bit faster from the stress of the situation that these brides have been putting themselves in? And that is this trend that went around that's like, I have X amount of time until my wedding, here are all the things I haven't done yet. And I thought, yeah, let's do that again. So these are going from like really not that bad to like, oh my goodness, please someone help her. In my opinion as a professional wedding planner. So without further ado, let's just jump right on into it.
One we got from our wedding. Can you tell? Freaking crazy to me, but, um, I consider myself pretty Type A Virgo.
Real quick, that is what your house will look like. Week before your wedding, bet. Especially if you're doing any DIY.
And here are the things we don't have figured out yet. I don't know where we're doing our first look. It is mainly like weather dependent. Like we have a couple, I guess, like options, but it's not 100%.
That's not a big deal. I don't care. I don't care. It could change the day of. You don't have to have a first look location. Your photographer can pick it for you. They're going to want to based on the lighting, based on if there's wind. You might have your heart set on location, then your photographer goes, oh sweet thing, we can't, we can't, we can't do pictures here. Uh, in fact, at my wedding, the Photographer wanted to do it somewhere in like super harsh light, and then the videographer is like, "Hey, what about dappled lighting? What about over here?" Clearly, the latter of the two was more experienced because the harsh lighting would have been a wee bit too much. Okay, so sometimes it's better to leave this in the hands of the professionals.
I have not practiced our first dance or song picked out, but we have not practiced our dance. That's fine. I haven't finished writing my vows, and I also haven't finished writing our thank you speech that we're going to be giving before dinner. I haven't finished printing everything. Amina, wedding planner, look away. Almost there. I have like literally one last thing to do and I'm gonna do it today.
Okay, that doesn't count. That doesn't count. Okay, your vows and your speeches, I mean, if you want to have them done ahead of time, great. If you're type A, that probably tracks with you, right? For the rest of us, I mean, I think I'm type AB. I don't know. I don't know where I fall. With weddings, A. In my home, B. Depends on how well I've slept because there's like a lot of children.
Okay. Decided what I'm gonna do for the rehearsal dinner, like hair and makeup. Like I'm doing it myself and I I like never wear makeup myself, so I like have no products. Like, I might ask one of my sisters to do it.
This is perfectly fine. I like— I don't think you should stress about it. Have you heard of Merit? Like, it's my— it's my all-time favorite makeup company because it's so simple. It's literally foolproof. So if you are not good at— it's like makeup you can live in, okay? It's like makeup for non-makeup people or makeup for makeup people. I love it. I'm obsessed with it, and it's something that's totally worth trying. Anyways, um, if I have a code for them, I'll put it on the screen or like link it down below, but it's literally Foolproof.
But probably most importantly is the budget is not like done. I mean, like it's
what? What? What? No, you're supposed to be typing. I'm misinterpreting or she's using the wrong phrasing. That's it. We're gonna we're riding forward with that mentality.
Final, but I haven't haven't sent all the payments. Still have to do that. I have like a couple more days and need to just make sure all the numbers are the math is mathing.
Okay, okay. You don't have to do that to us. You just said your budget isn't finalized, and I was like, what is that? What does that mean? It should be. You should know if it's just final payments and that's not your budget not being finalized. Oh, you get me corny for no reason.
It's showtime. It's go time. Here we go.
That's not bad. That wasn't bad. I think I stopped breathing only at one moment. That's not that big of a deal. But I have been told that these get steadily increasingly worse as we go on. So here's everything I still have to do for my wedding that's 2 and a half weeks away because everyone really loved the first video I made on this.
So let's go. I do not have my exit dress still or my shoes for my wedding day or like my jewelry for the whole weekend picked out. I have like ideas of what I want, but I don't have that picked out.
That's not a big deal. I mean, it is a big deal if it's a big deal to you, but no one else is gonna care. Like, if you don't have an exit dress, exit in whatever you're wearing. If you want an exit dress, like, cool, have your moment, go off. Uh, if you are worried about your jewelry, I mean, yeah, this is something that I probably would— I did think through for my event, and I understand when brides want to think these through for their events, but I don't think it's make or break. So if this is not on your list, you're like, I didn't even think about that, Don't borrow someone else's dress, okay? Don't borrow someone else's checklist. Speaking of which, I have a perfect checklist for you to download right here that'll walk you through everything that you need to get ready for your wedding day, so that way you're not cramming it all into the last minute like some of these brides might, might be, might be doing.
We need to finalize our full, like, wedding weekend schedule for our bridesmaids and groomsmen. Like, we have a packet we're working on to send all of them, um, so that they have, like, all the information that they need, so we're not always getting, like, Tested by people asking questions. So we need to finalize all that.
That's not a big deal. I actually love that you're thinking ahead on this one, and this is the timeframe that you'd be doing it anyway. So this is not late, just in case anyone's wondering. And putting together a packet is a great idea. I love that. Congratulations. You are thinking ahead.
I still have to make my shot list for my photographer. I'm meeting with them next week, so I need to have like a super detailed shot list of like things we really, really want. I made a Pinterest board already, but I need to Like specifically specify the actual shots we want. It's not just like the inspo.
This is only if you really have photos that you're like super drawn to or really, really want to have happen. Your photographer can provide a shot list for you. They can make recommendations or they can just go off vibes as long as they're following a schedule. Okay? Do you remember that one wedding photographer who was like, what if we just didn't do a timeline and just went off vibes? And I was like, we can't do that. We can't do that. You can do that, but someone else has gotta be running the show. So like, congratulations. I'm so glad that you can go out and be an artiste. But some of us here are trained Conductors, and we have a schedule to keep. Okay, train conductors in a fabulous outfit, if I do say so myself. Okay, okay. But you don't have to run the entire day for your photographer. They can plan out the shot list, you can tell them specific shots you want, or you can just, you know, let the day unfold.
I need to make sure we finalize the, like, specific portions of songs we want to be played. We have a meeting with our DJ tomorrow, so I need to, like, literally nail down, like, we want This starting here. We want this like the cues and stuff, so that needs to happen.
Okay, caveat to cues: this sounds so fun, and I love when the cues actually work out. But if you don't have a coordinator dismissing you that also knows when those cues need to happen, there's a chance it's gonna get screwed up. Okay, so I just need to plant a little bit of logic and reasoning into this conversation because I do want this for you. I do want you to have the like ta ta ta moment with the doors opening, or with you hitting that the back of the aisle at the right point, or with your bridesmaids walking down at the right point. But if you don't have a second professional, not just the DJ. They're coordinating, that can hear this, that has a way of communicating with the DJ. If it were me as the planner working this event, I would have an assistant standing with a walkie-talkie with an in-earpiece telling me when they're ready to go. Okay. All right. DJ's prepared. All right. He is cueing up to the right part of the song, communicating to me. I already have everybody lined up and I release people when they need to start walking. This is also something you need to practice at the rehearsal. Am I tangenting a little bit? Yes. But if you are going off of cued music, you will thank me later. Okay. Okay, and you're not here for short-lived videos, babes. You're here because you like the long ones. That's not what I meant. Anyways,
this is probably the biggest thing I need to do. It's going to be the most time-consuming. We're doing like personalized notes to all of our guests for our seating chart, and so I need to write 84 notes. Well, my fiancé and I both do, but I have better handwriting, so most of it will be written by me.
Okay, love this idea. If you spend 5 minutes per card, okay, 5 minutes, that's 7 hours. That's 7 hours. And some of them might be faster than 5 minutes, but if you want them to be customized and intentional, 5 minutes to write a note is not that long. So might I suggest, if you're going to implement this yourself, either start it earlier, make it less custom, or type it. Or pick a different custom thing to give to people. Okay? Because 7 hours, 5 minutes a note is really not that much if you're trying to be intentional with it and write slow and make sure your handwriting is cute. Okay? 7 hours. That's almost an entire workday. Okay? Just writing notes. And yeah, you can chip away at it every single night, but you have 2 and a half weeks. And there's other things that if you download the checklist, you'll see there are other things already occupying that time. So we're just adding in a little bit more than we need to unless you are like super, super committed to this. I totally get it. I'm not trying to squash your dreams. Just like, Earlier, less creative or typed. Okay.
I need to plan out like my honeymoon outfits. I, I have like some things I might need to order a couple things to fill in the gaps, but I have been like slowly ordering things, which is good. I'm proud of myself for that. Like I have a few new swimsuits I wanna bring. I have a few new dresses. Um, but I need to compile all of that.
Which is, I mean, obviously a stressor, but as your wedding planner, I'm like, I mean, I wanna make sure you have it done. Ideally, I recommend never leaving the day after your wedding. Like just give yourself a moment, give yourself a day or two to breathe at minimum. So you can just like come down from the high of the wedding before jetting off into like some luxurious location where you want to spend the first 48 hours like basically comatose because you just had one of the most exciting days of your life. And you will come down from that. You will have a crash. And yeah, crashing out on the beach is way more fun than crashing out at home, sure. But, uh, why waste a day on the beach if you don't have to?
I need to make a very detailed list of like my bags and what— who's taking what after the wedding because Again, since it's a destination wedding, my fiancé and I are leaving straight from the wedding night. Wow. And like, we need to coordinate who's taking my wedding dress back to the States, who's taking my bouquet. This suitcase is staying there. Like, I'm doing a separate suitcase for my, uh, wedding weekend and a separate suitcase for my honeymoon so that like we can like try to organize it as much as possible. But I need to write all those logistics in writing so that we can just execute it seamlessly.
You didn't lead with this being a destination wedding. Okay, okay, okay, okay. That adds an element of severity to all this. Yeah, no, you need to get your outfits figured out. You have to coordinate who's bringing your wedding dress back at a destination wedding, and you have a suitcase that needs to go back with someone. I want— I want you to consider ditching the cards, Kate. Love you so much. Mean it. Okay? You have so many moving parts here. I just don't want your dress getting left at an airport somewhere. I just don't want that second suitcase like getting confused with the first suitcase. There's a lot of moving parts here. Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay. Yeah, you need to plan those outfits. Remember when I was like, just take a day or two? You're already there, so you need to plan that out now. Okay.
This is probably the biggest thing, and you're gonna be like, oh, and I actually remember seeing so many brides be like, the week before, I don't have a veil. That's me. I'm 2 weeks out and I don't have a veil. I, I like know slightly what I might do.
Slightly?
But there's just like logistics. I want to use my mom's veil basically, but I wanted a blusher initially, but my mom's veil doesn't have a blusher, so I don't really know how to reconcile that. I don't know if I have to give up the blusher aspect or just to keep the heirloom aspect, but maybe I get a second veil and I do 2 veils. I don't know. I like looked into getting them like put together, but it's so— it's like such delicate fabric and it's so unique that I don't think we could create a blusher that would match the veil, if that makes sense. So that's a bit of a bummer, but I need to sort that out.
Yeah, that's— that's— we're talking custom. We're talking custom coat because your mom's veil is probably actually real quality and the stuff that you can get real cheap and real fast off Amazon or something like that is not— it's not gonna be the same. And so of course it's not— it's not gonna match up. So I think you need to pick between one or the other. You have sort of a plan and the good news is it doesn't seem like a hill that you really need to die on. So that's good. That's good. If it were me, I would think maybe I don't want to travel with my mom's heirloom veil, but it is your wedding, so I don't know. I don't know. I have no answers for you, but yeah, you're probably gonna have to pick one or the other.
I need to finalize my bridal makeup info. I didn't like 100% love the trial I had when I was in Mexico last time, so I'm glad I did a trial, but I need to finalize like the specifics of what I didn't like about it and what I want to do differently.
Okay. Hey, it's fine. It's fine. If you have an artist who's flexible, it's fine. But I would rather you give feedback on your trial sooner rather than later instead of waiting until 2 and a half weeks beforehand to be like, well, I hope they can get it now. Especially if they have to go shopping for products, we need to give them time to do that. We need to respect their time and make sure that they can like make that work with their schedule. Um, and I say that because a lot of brides probably aren't thinking about this, so I don't think she's being insensitive. But if you have adjustments or like drastic color differences or the artist needs to go get a different style of product so it sits or wears better on your face, you need to give them time to shop for that.
I need to print out a few more signs. Um, I ordered like most of my signs from Minted, but I made a couple on Etsy that I like couldn't find templates for on Minted that I liked. So I need to find a place to print those and I need to print all of the like welcome bags, like packets, because we're doing like a little packet in all the bags with the schedules. So I need to find somewhere to print all of those and do that.
That's not too bad. Printing's fine. I don't love it at the last minute, but it's a very easy— you just need to get it done. Um, it's just another task that requires you to leave your house, which I— the last 2 weeks before your wedding, the last 4 to 6 weeks is the why didn't we elope period. Like, having a wedding is stupid. This is so dumb. We should not have done this period. Seen it, been there, done that, bought the t-shirt. Okay, so any of the piddly things that we can get done before that period Is ideal because you're already gonna have a bunch of really random stuff that pops up, especially if you have a destination wedding.
There's so many more things that I know I'm forgetting. Like, my list is actually so long. Um, so— oh, I need to get gifts for my brothers, but I got my dad's gift, my mom's gift, my maid of honor's gift, and my fiancé's gift. So we're getting there, guys, we're getting there. We only have a few more things. I'm pretty sure I'm trying to get most of them checked off Today or this week. I mean, I'm sure I will have a part two because there's definitely things I'm forgetting. But that's all for now.
That's not bad. I mean, it was number two on the list. So there's two more.
Okay, you guys. I get married literally in three weeks from today. I'm kind of freaking out a little bit, but I am so so excited. Um, but I just wanted to go over a list of things that I have not done yet for the wedding. Some of you type A people. Might kill me. Okay, starting out strong. I have not booked my honeymoon. We don't know where we want to go. We just can't decide. We don't want to spend $10,000 on a honeymoon. So yeah, we just have not booked it.
That's fine. If it's not important to you, it's not important to me. Okay, if you don't want to spend $10,000 on your honeymoon, you don't have to. If you're traveling somewhere though, you need to buy your tickets earlier, so you might end up spending more money than you wanted to regardless because you put it off. But I'm not your mom.
Another really important thing, we have not gotten our marriage license yet. Um, luckily we do have an appointment for that next week. Moving on, I have not chosen our first dance song, or we have not chosen our first dance song. I have not chosen my daddy-daughter song. My fiancé hasn't chosen his mother-son song. We have options. We just haven't dialed it down. So
that's not bad. That's not bad. So far we're on number three, and I'm not panicking about anything. This is great.
We have not decided our desserts for our wedding. Don't come after me. Again, we're indecisive people. I just don't know what I want, and I have to decide like yesterday.
Um, it's not bad. I mean, if you go to Trader Joe's, if you go to Costco, if you decide to DIY your own dessert bar, if your venue allows for that— if you have a baker, they have to buy stuff, so you can't, you can't wait this close to the event to do that. So if you're buying it and setting it up yourself, easy peasy lemon squeezy. I mean, I prefer for you to have an idea, you know, but it's not the end of the world. If you're working with a professional though and you have not given them a shopping list I mean, we've kind of covered this with the hair and makeup artist. I would say it would be even more important for a baker because their items are far more perishable than a makeup artist's stuff are. And a makeup artist has a full kit, so they might already have something in there that will suit the look that you want. A baker might not have the new items that you're looking for or the things that you're springing on them last minute. So it's not bad, it's fine. It was a minor explanation afterwards, but we're still good, right?
I have also not found A hairstylist for the day of. I suck at doing my hair, as you can see. I just don't do my own hair. Even when I try and curl it, like, my front pieces end up all straight and freaking ugly. So I have to find the hairstylist that is willing to travel an hour.
Um, that's not good. That's not good. That's not good. You might not have one. Okay, uh, Facebook groups. I talk about these all the time. I talk about these all the time. Yeah, that's where I would go. You are, you are running out of options. You have 3 weeks. Someone needs to travel to your event to do your hair. You have not done a trial, which, if it's not important to you, I can't make it important to you. It doesn't matter. Okay. Doesn't matter. But they have to travel an hour and you haven't booked anybody. I'm not saying that all of the good ones book up first. That's not what I'm saying, okay? 'Cause I still believe that you can find one, but you are creating unnecessary stress by leaving this to the last minute because you will either find stylists who are outta your price range or are booked. So the ones that are not booked and in your price range are gonna be much harder to find. Add in the factor that you only have 3 weeks left and they have to travel an hour. Some hairstylists will not travel an hour for simply one person getting their hair done. Like, that might not happen. So you might need to then ask your wedding party, does anyone want to get their hair done? Because they have a minimum. They're not going to drive all the way out here to do my hair, or they're going to charge a much larger amount than you're prepared for because they don't travel for one person. They don't travel 2 hours round trip to do one person's hair. So that one I don't love. That one I don't love. But I'm still, I'm still okay. I mean, as far as the overall list is concerned, like, We're fine. I'm deep breathing between cuts, but we're fine.
Um, this one might be— I have not sent out all of my invitations yet.
I know.
I have not gotten my dress dry cleaned.
You can't just say that and move on. How have you not— oh, I— how do I have the chills? That's a visceral reaction. How do you— how, how, how, how, how? Help you not send all your invitations. What is— what are we doing? What's going on? I hate that a lot. A lot. Because you need those final numbers for your caterer, for your venue, for your baker, for your bar company. You need final numbers for the amount of chairs you're getting, your tables, your tablecloths, your centerpieces. So if you haven't sent out your invitations, people typically need— I know she knows this, but oh my gosh, you typically send them out a minimum of 6 weeks in advance. So people then have 2 weeks to figure out if they can get time off of work, etc., or make it work for your event to respond. You give them a 30-day RSVP window. Some people do 8 weeks, some people do 12 weeks. 6 weeks is the minimum. So if you're 3 weeks out, you're just flying by the seat of your pants in the situation. That's going to cause potentially some pretty big financial issues. You're either going to be overpaying or potentially not have enough chairs or tablecloths, or your caterer hasn't bought enough food. This is all these things that I'm saying, like, hey, they need to know a little bit further in advance because they have to go shopping for things. It's one thing if it's a baker. It's another thing if it's a makeup artist who needs to get a different shade or add something to their kit to work with what you— I was going to say work with your face. You know what I'm saying? It's a whole different thing if you need to add tables and chairs or if your caterer needs to add 30 more meals. You can't— I mean, you can. You can. I'm not going to climb through the screen and stop you, but please, please send out your invitations. Please be done sending them out further than 3 weeks in advance. Okay, okay, okay. It's not gonna— it cannot get worse from here, right? It's totally fine. I need like a— I need like a coffee.
I have not gotten my dress dry cleaned. Um, I've looked at dry cleaners in the area, they all have terrible reviews, so I'm scared to take my wedding dress there and it turn out pink or get ruined or something. So I've not done that.
Okay, that's not, that's not as bad. I don't think every single bride gets their dress dry cleaned before their wedding day, so it's— I mean, it is what it is. I'd find someone a little bit further out of town that has better reviews or go see them in person. And but this is, again, we're 3 weeks out, so we're really kind of like cramming in the amount of activities that we have time for, the amount of errands that we have time for. Super unfortunate. I don't love this for you, but that's, that's not as bad as the invitations. I thought you would have saved the best for last. So I feel like I'm like, you know, Calming down a little.
I have not designed and printed out our wedding guest book yet. Um, I need to design that, get it ordered, and then have it get shipped here, obviously. Um, so yeah, so I have that to do. I also have to do all of these signs, like the welcome signs, the food table sign, the dessert table sign. Um, we're doing like some yard games, so the game sign. And I also have to print out Pictures that we're displaying from our bridal session. So that I think is it.
Okay, that's not bad. That's not bad. I mean, you snuck you snuck the invitations in there, which you know that's really bad. Okay, okay. Your wedding's over. I'm sure it turned out great, but like that's not great. That's not great. But the design, the signs—I mean again, all these tasks could be done earlier. They typically get done in the last month or so anyways. I'm not stressed about that. Getting pictures printed—not stressed about that. As long as you're not too heavy DIY in the end, we're good. We're good.
There's honestly probably a handful more, but that's all I can think of now. It'll be a great day. Can't wait to see you all there.
Okay. She's super cute. Also, what is that flamingo thing called where you like hike one foot up on your knee? Because I do that all the time. I've done it my whole life. I call it the flamingo leg. That's not what it's called. Okay. But sometimes when I'm just standing in the kitchen, I don't know. It just happens. Okay. I've been told that this one I need to be emotionally prepared for it, but I'm not. I'm not. Here we go. Here we go.
My wedding is 7 weeks away, so here is a list of things that I still haven't done as a November 2026 bride.
7 weeks away. This is— this is fine. We have more time. It's not like 2 and a half weeks. It's not 3 weeks. We got— we have almost 2 whole months, ladies and gentlemen. We can accomplish a lot of things. She could send out her invitations during this time frame. It's gonna be— why is this one last?
Starting off strong. I still haven't gotten my wedding dress.
As in like back from alterations? Is that what you mean? Is that what— is that what you mean?
I still haven't gotten my wedding dress. I just— I just don't like any dresses. I have been online. Um, I haven't actually gone in store To try on any dresses just because I hate, I hate shopping in store. But, um, I think that's my best option. I don't know if I like, you know, A-line. I don't like— I don't know if I like the ball gown. I just don't like any. So at this point, I think I'm gonna wear like a suit or something.
Which you would still need time for because a suit that fits a curvy figure It's a feminine figure. Takes time for alterations. Okay, okay, okay. Wait, you mean you haven't even gone to look at wedding dresses? Not like, oh, it's with the seamstress or it's with the tailor, it's getting altered. No, I haven't selected one and I've only looked online and I don't know what looks good on my body. I understand not wanting to shop in person. I get that. And a lot of people do feel that way about a wedding dress. Like, I just, I don't want to try it on. I don't want to deal with this. No, thank you. Okay. This is going to be likely a gown you've never worn anything like this in your entire life. You don't know what's going to look on your body. You kind of, in most cases, have to go in person and try it on. You can buy something off the rack. You can buy something off of Amazon. You have options. I'm not saying you have to go to a bridal boutique or a bridal shop specifically and only to be able to find a dress that works for you. But you need to get out and go shopping. 7 weeks is still a perfectly acceptable amount of time, especially if you don't need alterations. You can still find something. Your pool is going to be much more limited. But it sounds to me like you don't really care. But a suit is actually going to be more complicated than you think. So, okay.
I also haven't gotten the bridesmaids' dresses. Bridesmaids have the choice to choose their own bridesmaids' dresses, um, so they will get that in their own time, but they haven't got it yet, so hopefully they get onto that.
Don't love that. Okay, or it's like, it's, it's like organizing other people to get stuff done can be really complicated, and oftentimes you'll run into situations where it's like Man, my friends are like not responding, or they're not getting this done in a timely manner. They must not respect my wedding. That's not necessarily the case. It just, it feels like you're hounding them sometimes for— it feels like to them for no reason when you're like, hey, no, you need to get, you need to get your dress, you need to get your attire, because we don't want to leave it to the last minute of you running around and then not finding anything that works with the colors or like works with your body or that needs to be altered, and then you don't have enough time. Typically we like to see suit rentals done about 4 months in advance. And dresses ordered like 6 months in advance, um, especially if they have to be shipped. So this means that everyone's finding very likely off the rack, which you can do if you're flexible with the style, if you're flexible with the colors, um, if you allow them to just like go pick anything, which this bride is very clear about, then that's okay. It's not the end of the world. However, if you have a specific vision, you cannot make that happen in a 2-month time frame, very likely. I can't think of any bridesmaid dress designers that can make that happen, but I also don't know all of them personally. So that's a very bold statement, Jamie. Good job.
I haven't gotten the bride and bridesmaids' bouquets yet. Again, I, I don't know like what kind of flowers I like. I don't know if I like lilies. I don't know if I like roses. I don't know if I want to put a pop of color in there. Um, yeah, I, I'm just I think I'm the most indecisive person in the world. I am one person that is constantly asking my partner, do you like this? Do you think this is what we should go with? And he's just like, I don't care, you're the— you're the woman, like, make up your mind, that's for you guys. And I'm just like, oh, okay, you're no freaking help, are you?
Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, you're probably not gonna find a professional florist in this time frame. You're probably also not looking for a professional florist in this time frame. If you can't figure out what color you like, that's fine. You don't have to be into weddings. You don't have to have flowers at all whatsoever. You don't, you don't have to. If you are losing sleep over your flower colors, this is an obscenely tight time frame. If you're like, no, I'll just go to a local grocery store and pick something up and throw it together, I don't care, then that's fine. It's just what tier of wedding are you placing yourself into? What tier of wedding does your budget allow for, or are you interested in? If you are booking a professional, this is way too short of a time frame. If you are DIYing or having a friend or family member throw some flowers together for you, great. Have— just be like, you make the decision. I don't care. Here's what the bridesmaids are wearing. Here's what the groomsmen are wearing. Here's what the wedding party is wearing. Here's kind of the— I like these colors. They're great. Here's what I tend to wear on a daily basis. Go, go figure it out. If that's the vibe, that's fine. You have almost 2 months. If again, you were booking a professional, that's not the vibe. That's bad. You have less than 2 months.
My partner hasn't got his suit yet. And his groomsmen haven't got their suits yet. So yeah, none of the bridal party have their shit together. We really need to get our shit together, like ASAP.
I'm glad she recognizes it because yeah, the suits are a problem. Like I said, rentals like to have them about 4 months in advance. A lot of them have really big warehouses though, so you can do it like 2 months in advance. At the 7-week mark, we're potentially hitting like a rush job where you could be paying extra in shipping, you don't necessarily want. And like, what if they don't fit? What if they don't fit right? And what if you have to send it back for a different size? There's, there's a lot, there's a lot here that you have to give yourself a little bit more time for. But this is just clothes. It's just clothes. There's not— it can't— they're— and flowers. It's just clothes and flowers.
Next one is we haven't got our rings yet. So we went in stores yesterday to try and find my partner a wedding band and Unfortunately, stores do not stock his size. So we went into stores thinking that he would be like a YZ, but he is a Z6, which is only online.
Or we can buy a size Z— Zed size ring and upsize, but the places we went to said only gold can be done, but we were after silver. Oh,
so if any If any other men have had this problem where you have gorilla hands— no, I'm joking, I'm joking— you, um, have big hands like my partner, um, please let me know what you guys did or where online is trustworthy to buy, um, Z6 rings from, because at the moment we're stuck on that.
Which is— it might be something that you, you thought you'd be able to find in the store and you didn't know until you got there. That's okay. This is very understandable. Might I suggest getting something off of Amazon and then replacing it with your forever ring a little bit later down the line if you find yourself in too big of a time crunch? Is it ideal? No. Is it the most romantic? Also no. However, it's something. If you have to custom size something or custom order something, it can take sometimes an unbelievable amount of time to pull that off, which you're just now finding out, and I'm very sorry.
Um, so the next one is I haven't gotten the kids flower Girl baskets. I haven't got the ring pillow yet. Um, I haven't gotten any signage for our reception yet.
Okay, you're in the time frame for signage. The basket you can literally pick up at a thrift store. The pillow, don't do it. Don't do it. Don't do it. Because I'll tell you about the time that I tied a ring on very securely and the 5-year-old still managed to lose it, and we had to go digging in the grass to find the groom's ring and then run it up. From the side of the ceremony to pass it to the very— the groomsman who is at the back of the line, and they just passed it forward. Okay, okay, I'll tell you about that. I'll tell you about that. Don't, don't do the pillow. Don't do the pillow, or put a fake ring on it. Well, I mean, order 2 of the Amazon— I just— don't do the pillow. But you're in the time frame for science. It's fine, okay? It's just the clothes and, and the flowers. It's not— it's fine.
But I know all these things are easily done online, so I'm not too fussed about it. But the next and last one I am a bit stressed about because it's just like, are we going to be able to do it? Or, you
know, if she's stressed, someone have the paramedics on standby for Jamie Wolfer. Okay,
me and my partner, we currently live separate. Um, he lives with his parents, I live with my mom. So we want to find a place before our wedding so that after our wedding day we're able to move into our house married, you know. So, um, at the moment we haven't looked at houses. The next few weeks I am going to be deep in the, you know, house hunting trenches, so stay tuned for that. May or may not take you along with me. That's all we've pretty much— that's all we're pretty much not done yet, which is actually kind of a lot. Yeah. Now that I think about it, but I know with the good grace of God that we will get it done and it will all work in our favor. Yeah, I'm not stressed with my wedding planning. I feel like everything will work out and everything will be fine. Um, I know that everything doesn't always go to plan, but that's okay. We're going to roll with the punches. So I guess you could say this is episode 1 of my wedding series. Um, we will see if I continue this because I'm extremely lazy when it comes to content. So yeah, we will see.
Okay, I thought it was gonna keep getting worse. I thought it was gonna be— the whole house hunting thing, not ideal, of course. I want you to have space in every single era of your bridal season or your engagement season to breathe, to not be stressed out about your wedding, to not feel like you're cramming everything in. Um, as you go, or like at the last minute, because it's already the why didn't we elope period in the last 4 to 6 weeks. Some might see the last 2 months period. But if we then add on things that could have been handled sooner, that's where my heart kind of just breaks for couples, because the act of planning a wedding is not— it's not stressful. I mean, it's— She says as a professional wedding planner. I truly don't believe that it is, especially if you buy something like my book, The Master Planner, because this specific tool will help you walk through planning your wedding in a timely manner so you always have space to breathe in between activities. So you're not talking about your wedding to your fiancé all the time and they're like, oh my gosh, if you say that one word one more time, I'm walking out of this room. I can't, I can't talk about the wedding anymore. I want you to still live a normal life while planning your wedding. I don't want you to be one of these brides coming on the internet and going, well, I have 72 things to do, um, and it's not, it's not good. It's not good. And now I feel like I can't breathe. The house thing, yes, that's an added element that quite a few couples tend to go through in the last few weeks. If you know that's going to be you, try to make sure you're getting everything else done ahead of time. So again, I mentioned the checklist before, it's going to be in the description box down below. If you are a pen-to-paper girly, you need to be ordering the Master Planner. It is literally the best wedding planner book that you are going to find because it not only walks you through budgets and spreadsheets but gives you an explanation behind the decision-making process so you can make empowered decisions instead of just like, you know, plucking something out of a hat. Or you can join me in the Master Plan where I'm live every single month helping couples plan their weddings as stress-free as possible. So that's all we have for today's video, guys.
