INSANE SCAM: Sip Of Eden CONTROVERSY | Wedding Planner REACTS

In this reaction video, wedding planner Jamie Wolfer reviews a series of firsthand accounts from multiple brides who were scammed by the mobile bartending and photo‑booth business Sip of Eden (run by Eden Lassay). The brides describe a pattern of ultra‑affordable pricing, last‑minute cancellations, quadruple‑booking, and outright no‑shows on their wedding days, leaving them without services and out of pocket (approximately $40,000 across 60+ couples). They also detail evasive excuses (family death, car accidents, cancer) and the vendor’s subsequent blocking of contacts. The video reveals that Sip of Eden was allegedly sold overnight to Jason of Bartenders Elite, raising questions about contract assignment, transfer of deposits, and liability. Jamie interjects with practical consumer‑protection advice: verify contracts are countersigned, check for assignment clauses, use credit‑card chargebacks, file complaints with the Attorney General, consider cancellation insurance, and seek legal counsel. The discussion also touches on defamation threats from the vendor, FTC rules protecting honest reviews, and the coordinated community response (group chats, Google Forms, media outreach) aimed at exposing the scam and securing refunds. The tone oscillates between empathetic support for the brides, critical analysis of the vendor’s practices, and instructional guidance for future wedding planners and couples.
Chapters
She no-showed my wedding last night, blocked my number, blocked my Facebook.
Hi, so I've literally never made a video like this before, and I hope it reaches the right people because my wedding was last Friday and one of my worst nightmares happened. So I wanted to share my experience with this bartender and pray that it doesn't happen to any of anybody else, because what I went through, I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. So in the beginning of this year, we found all of our vendors through a Facebook group called Ohio Wedding Vendors, and this is where I found a mobile bartending business called Sip of Eden. Okay, she had all great reviews. She was so nice, like I was so excited to meet her on my wedding day. She was super affordable, which is what my household needed because I'm a stay-at-home mom and we're a one-income household. So it just worked for us.
I'm going to pause it right here. I guarantee you most people booked this vendor because she was super affordable. Also, she came with good reviews, but it's the super affordable part that gets me and that I find somewhat concerning. If what a vendor is charging is outside of the industry standard, like it's so low, so much lower than their competition, That is a red flag for me.
And her package also came with a photo booth setup, which I really wanted so we could see our guest pictures throughout the day and night. And so we were like, okay, 2-in-1, like, that's perfect. So I booked— I booked her. She sent me an invoice through an email and we paid it. This was like in the beginning of this year, you know. We stayed in contact All throughout the year. And a week before the wedding, 6 days away, I messaged her and I was like, hey, I just want to make sure everything's good on your end, my end, like double-checking like the supplies that she's providing. Um, since we were only supposed to get alcohol, she was supposed to bring like drinks, drink mixers, mocktails, cups, ice, straws, cooler, like literally everything. We just had to provide the alcohol. So I texted her 6 days before the wedding and I was like, hey, like, just checking up. And her response was, OMG, your wedding is this month already? With a laughing emoji.
Haha.
I should have taken that immediately as a red sign, but I didn't. So the day of our wedding, she was supposed to be at the venue at 2 because our ceremony was at 4 because she wanted to set up early or whatever. And it was 3:50. I was about to walk down the aisle. I was putting my veil in and my shoes on. I had my makeup done, my hair done, and my aunt came in the room and was like, hey, where's your bartender? I immediately start panicking. I called her and it went straight to voicemail. I started having a full-blown panic attack. Uh, I was throwing up, I was shaking, I was bawling my eyes out, and I was not able to calm down.
Oh, okay. I'm not gonna invalidate your experience, but that is a Wild reaction to a bartender being missing. We can fix this. We can fix this, okay? If there's a Costco down the road, if there's a liquor store, if there's a box of wine within 25 miles, I will figure it out. We don't, we don't, we don't need to be throwing up. But you probably already had a bunch of nerves coursing through your body and this just tipped it over the edge. And I don't, I don't, I don't blame you.
Because it's my wedding day. I've been dreaming of this day since I was a little girl and I thought it would be perfect. And this happened. So she texted me back and she said, OMG, I somehow mixed up your wedding date. Uh, let me call my sister to see if she can get there. I said, okay, the wedding is about to start. No response. I got absolutely nothing. I ended up having to contact her at the end of the night because I haven't heard anything from her, and I said, can you please send me my refund immediately? Thank you. And she texted back with her so apology saying like, I'm so sorry, like I like I messed up, yada yada yada. I would love to send you your refund. I said, okay, do you have Cash App or Venmo? Nothing. I got nothing. Texted her the next day. Hello. Nothing. She ended up responding back saying, sorry, I'm on my way to another wedding. Um, ma'am, how about you fix the wedding you messed up yesterday? Like what? Where's my refund? And then she was saying that she couldn't respond and yada yada yada yada. So I texted her on Sunday, which is 2 days after our wedding. Where is my refund? Please send me my refund. Sorry, I have my dad's funeral. So this all started becoming fishy to me. So I do my research, still haven't gotten a refund. I do my research and I found another bride post in the Michigan wedding bride-to-bride group chat. And the same thing happened to her. Come to find out, she's done this to 60 over— 60+ brides, has canceled the day of, has canceled the night before, and uses very chaotic lies saying that her and her sister got in a bad car accident, she has cancer, she just got out of a surgery, her dad died, when there's posts saying that her dad died 2 years ago. But that's besides the fact.
Why is it that when people lie, they always come up with something so asinine? Because they feel like you can't be mad at them. You can't hold them responsible if their dad just died. You can't hold them responsible if they have cancer. You can't hold them responsible if they had a car crash. Sure. But then we have the business part to follow up afterwards of like, but they still deserve a refund. Your clients still deserve a refund. This is insane. 60.
Just the lies that she's saying. Come to find out, she's actually quadruple Booked weddings. There was actually 4 or 5 brides that was also booked on the same day, and she just doesn't show up, uh, doesn't respond, and does not send refunds. So that was surprising. So I filed a dispute for the transaction through my bank, and thankfully it was able to come through since she still will not give me a refund. And after I got my money back, basically I posted on Facebook about her and her business, like just spreading awareness that I hope another bride doesn't happen how it happened to me. And it ended up going viral. So I wanted to share on here, hoping that it'll spread to more people that may not see the post and have their weddings booked with her in the future. And I just wanted to let everyone know that she's a scammer. Oh my God. She has scammed over 60 brides, which is almost $40,000. And yeah, so she texted me 2 mornings ago telling me that if I don't take down my post that's regarding false information, she's going to take me to court and she already has an attorney, which is a lie because I've not once posted false information. I'm I'm telling the world about my experience with her, and I pray that it doesn't happen to any other bride because, yeah, she did that to me on my wedding day and I will never forgive her. So I hope her business gets shut down. I hope this reaches the right people, and I hope she doesn't do it to anybody else.
I am nosy as heck. Okay. She made almost $40K Off of 60, so I'm gonna do okay. Yeah, I was wondering if she'd land at about $600 per person. Okay, this calculates out to $666 and change, which mark of the beast apropos. I don't know.
I don't know.
That's that might be too far. That it might be too far. I cannot imagine on your wedding day expecting all of your vendors that you paid to show up, and and then one of them just just just like. Just doesn't. Just doesn't. And then, and then you go to the internet to talk about it, and then all of a sudden you have 60 other couples that are talking about how she either no-showed or quadruple booked their day. How does this happen? How does a vendor go from doing a really good job and getting stellar reviews from clients who clearly loved her to then going so far off the deep end that she's quadruple booking? I don't understand how people Are okay with this in their own? Like, how does she sleep? And I don't—I don't mean like how do you sleep at night? Like literally, how does she sleep? How does she do this? I—I don't understand. And—and so, of course, naturally, as I do, I started digging around on the interwebs. And guess what? There's more.
Okay, so I don't normally make videos where I'm talking, but I am a 2027 bride. I'm getting married September 25th, 2027. And in February of 2026, I started booking all my important vendors that I wanted to have at my wedding. The most important things that were just non-negotiable for me and my wedding. And one of those things was that I really wanted to have a drink vendor there. We are not paying for alcohol for our wedding, but I did want to have fun drinks, like some— a couple mocktails, some soft beverages, just that kind of stuff. So, after reaching out to lots of companies and doing lots of research, I ended up going with a local company in Michigan called Sips by Eden. And at that time, it was managed and ran by Eden and I think her sister, and everything was going good. Um, we got a discount because we booked early in advance, so it was $650. Oh, wow. I think the original is $750, but we got $100 off because we paid in full early. So we paid the $650 to her in February. I understand wanting to pay.
I understand wanting to pay things off. I do. I do. I do. I do. I love paying things off. I love seeing a zero balance on credit cards. I love it. I love it. Like, talk about a dopamine hit. Okay. I think that there are circumstances like this where potentially we either put this on a credit card so we could do a chargeback in a situation like this, or we just say, you know what, I'm going to stop myself right there because $100 is a huge savings for so many people. It sucks, it sucks, it sucks, but you have to protect yourself. And please get cancellation insurance, please, because how often are we making these videos where vendors all of a sudden go from being like class acts with tons of great reviews, or they're brand new to the industry and they have a contract and everything looks legit, and then they don't deliver or they don't show up or they ruin the day in some way? Please get cancellation insurance. I'm gonna link my favorite right up here.
All was good, nothing Nothing bad, everything seemed good. I wake up this morning to Facebook posts about all these women getting scammed from this company that I have booked. So I took a screenshot of the post, I sent it directly to Eden because I didn't want to just assume the worst from one post. From the post. So I screenshot that, I'm like, hey, I just saw this, Made me a little nervous. She says, oh yeah, I can clear that up. Let me give you a call in a couple minutes. I said, perfect.
She's not gonna call.
Still haven't heard back from her. So then I start seeing more posts about all of these brides. It's like 60+ brides at this point that have been scammed out of money by her. And so I did more research on Sips by Eden, and they recently posted that they're switching over the company into somebody else's name. Also finding out that she books multiple weddings for the same date even though she is only 2 people, from what I understand. So multiple brides are being canceled last minute because she books 3, 4 weddings for the same day and only does one. So they're not getting their refunds, they're getting stiffed last minute. So now selling the company to Jason apparently seems very sketchy overnight. Whatever. So all of us girls are just trying to get information, trying to get our refunds back, trying to figure out what's going on because the wedding industry is so expensive. So now we're like out $600, $700. I mean, some girls bought bundles with the photo booth, so that's even more. And she's just ghosting us all. Um, she's blocking us, she has her phone on do not disturb, she's deleting pages. And as far as we know, I mean, I don't know if Jason even knows the extent of the business that he's purchasing, so I'm not wanting to like bash him at all because I don't know enough information. But I also want to spread awareness. But Because I know so many brides that have been scammed by this business, including myself. I do not see any chance of any of us getting our money back in any near future. I mean, I would like to be a dreamer and hope we do, but ultimately I just wanted to make this video to spread awareness so people are not still sending this woman money because we are not going to see it again and we are not going to see her at our events. I don't think.
There's a new person. There's a new person. She sold it to somebody else. Could you imagine being this purchaser? Okay. I would hope that they do their due diligence. My guess is they didn't. There's no way they could have. There's no way they could have. Like, how do you take a look at those books? How do you— how do you—
how do you—
what did you review the books or did you just see bookings through HoneyBook? Like, what is it? What procedure did you go through Jason, if that is your real name, to purchase this. And then, and then I didn't even think about all the brides that had already booked. I was just thinking about all the brides that like she no-showed and cheated out of the money. But all the brides that are booked the rest of 2026 and 2027 and beyond that are now not going to see— because the, the new guy's not gonna be able to refund everybody. That's not happening. And what is he gonna do, work all these events for free? Like, he can't honor the contract. What is— okay, all right, we're gonna pull up the Facebook page. Here it is, Sip of Eden. This is Jason Allen with Bartenders Elite LLC. We have purchased Sip of Eden and will be handling all further events starting from 9/28/26. If you have any questions, please send us an email, blah blah blah, or go to our website and leave a message. Don't worry, there's 381 comments. Oh buddy, had no idea. The top comment, a Netflix doc is gonna come for y'all. Oh no. Is your team planning to reach out to the already contracted couples to ensure a smooth transition? 19 replies. Does he say anything? Please tell me he said— oh my gosh, this gal says, I already paid her in full for my wedding on October 24th of this year. I had another bride reach out and say she is also booked for the same day. I tried emailing Eden to get a refund issued, but the email said it was full. So I messaged the Sip of Eden Facebook page trying to cancel our services and get a refund and try to find a new bartender slash photo booth. I'm trying not to lose it, but my wedding is 29 days away. Oh my gosh, oh my gosh. You purchase it overnight? It usually takes 3 to 6 months to purchase another business. Yeah, this is what I'm wondering. Okay, Jason said, I purchased it Monday of this week. 4 people laughed at it. Someone replied, odd because I spoke to Eden on the phone on Tuesday, 9/22 at 12:27 PM. We love a detailed girly with receipts. Well, I don't know if that's receipts. And she assured me that she would be working my wedding. She didn't sell the business and something like this has never happened before. Funny, doesn't Monday come before Tuesday? Poor Jason. Poor Jason. Jason said she was going to fulfill the rest of the events this year until the threats came. Well, well, mine is next year, so still doesn't quite make sense, does it? Smiley face. Girl, you were going straight to jail. This is a good one though. Oh, here's a really good reply. Brides, for anyone already booked, here's how to figure out where you stand. One, check your contract. Guys, you always have to read your contracts, okay? Um, look for a section on assignment or transfer. If it says the contract can't be transferred without your consent or says nothing, the original business generally can't just hand your booking to a new company. You get a say. 2, ask Bartenders Elite in writing— email so you can have a record. Uh, did you purchase Sip of Eden LLC itself or just its assets? Are you honoring my contract at the same date, term, and price? Have my deposits/payments been transferred to you? Please confirm the amount. Can you send a certificate of liquor liability insurance that covers Michigan events? 3, verify the business. Bartenders Elite lists their address in blah blah blah, so it's worth confirming they're set up to operate in Michigan. You can look up both companies on the Michigan LARA business entity search and the Ohio Secretary of State business search to confirm they're active registered LLCs. It's also fair to ask whether the staff working your event will be local or traveling from Ohio. When this can release you from your contract: you never agreed to the transfer and don't want to continue, the new company won't confirm they received your payments or won't honor your terms, service changes in a meaningful way, different package pricing or setup than you booked. If any of those apply, send the original owner a written request to cancel. and refund, citing that you did not consent to the transfer. If that goes nowhere, you still have chargebacks if within the time window, an AG consumer complaint, and small claims. Not a lawyer, just a fellow vendor. If you have a large amount paid, a quick consult with an attorney to review your specific contract is worth it. Yeah, but I mean, if you paid $650 for bartending services and you're gonna pay, what, $500 for an hour or 2 of a lawyer's time to draft something up, like, the likelihood of seeing this money back Is so slim. I do love that this vendor recommended going to the attorney general in a giant situation like this. The way to get the a big amount of traction is to go to an attorney general. This is this is breaking my heart though because this is probably hundreds of couples. I know they said sixty in this one post, but that's just one Facebook group. That's just one. That means she is cranking through these intake calls. That means she is booking left and right. So if she's booking four to five events per weekend at six fifty, that's a hundred and thirty-five thousand two hundred dollars. Per year. Not a bad gig before going straight to jail. I mean, but don't worry, we got another one.
Hey, so I'm getting married next May in seven-ish months, May eighth, and um, I have had a lot of my vendors taken care of because I just finished an accelerated one-year grand pro. Grad program. So I was a little busy. So I took care of like my venue, my food, all kinds of stuff so early on, either before my program started or like during a break of my program when I needed a break, whatever. So I booked my bartender, Sips of Eden, um, on— in full paid February 12th of this year. So that is like seven months ago now, and my wedding is seven months. You know? Okay. So we're like right in the middle here. And I see this post on this past Tuesday, which was the 22nd, on a Michigan Brides page, and it says, "Warning! Do not book Sips of Eden because she no showed my wedding." La di da di da. So I'm like, pause, that's crazy. So I'm like, let's— I'm a therapist, okay? The first thing I'm gonna do is try to give the benefit of the doubt. So I'm like, let me message her, let me check in. So I sent her a screenshot and I said, I wanted to make sure you were aware that this is circulating, and I also was just wondering like if we could chat real quick. I just would love to be confident about going forward. So she called me right away. She talked to me for probably 5 to 10 minutes. This is noon on Tuesday. Keep that in mind.
Wait, it's noon on Tuesday? It's noon on Tuesday. She sold the business to Jason on Monday. We already saw another person talking in the comments here that said, no, she told me on Monday that she was still going to work with me. Where is it? Where is it? Oh, Samantha May. This must be the same. Okay. Okay, Sam, you're really covering all your bases on social media. I'm really proud of you. She talked to her on the phone. This is the same gal. I'm assuming because this is Sam, that's Samantha. Just, I know it's a really big leap to assume it's the same person, but it could be. She could have scammed multiple Sams, we don't know.
Um, and she's like, I'm so sorry, like, I don't know what that post is about. Nothing like this has ever happened. I've never canceled on a bride. There was something that went on with my sister Gracie, keep that in mind too. Um, but like, it had nothing to do with me, and I'm trying to figure it out because it's my name on the business, yada yada. Okay, so she reassures me that she will be at my wedding in May. We are good. There's nothing to be concerned about. Thank you. Hang up. I went back and I looked at that post again a couple hours later. There were hundreds. Okay, maybe a hundred, but there were a lot of comments. Okay, it blew up. And so many brides have been either already impacted or have her booked and have been Ghosted as of this post. Oh, okay, cool. So I initially, I'm still thinking, mind on this. She is just being targeted and this is not real. So I sent her like one more screenshot of a comment and I was like, someone's trying to vouch for you because someone had had her at her wedding and she showed up and did great. It sent as a green message and I should have taken that as my first red sign, but I didn't. Um, then this post kept blowing up and blowing up and blowing up. So mind you, the original poster was supposed to get married on like the 22nd of August. She also had 5— like, okay, wait, she also had 4 other weddings booked. So there were 5 total booked for August 22nd, and she told 4 out of 5 brides that she had emergency surgery or was in a serious car accident or some BS excuse, but was at a wedding. She was at one of 5 weddings. Guess what? That's not the only date it's happened at because brides keep coming together and bringing their stories in. Oh, this has happened to a lot of brides. I'm now in a group chat with 70 or more. So all of this is to say, please be so careful. Even if you're diligent and you do your research, you're still gonna end up in a mess like me. So these are Really smart women in this group, proud or in this group message. Like we all did our research so hard. Planning a wedding takes so much work and so much stress, and now we all are trying to figure out how to get a refund when she's changed her number. She delete well okay. We thought she deleted her Facebook, but I went on my mom's Facebook. Her personal Facebook is still up, so she has went through and blocked every single one of us brides.
Oh my gosh! The amount of administrative work that would be to block all of your current and future brides. Like what? I just just delete the thing. I mean like obviously. Honestly, I would never be in this position ever because I'm a good person. Um, I know, really low bar to entry here, but if you're gonna block all of your clients, just, just delete it. Just, it would save you a lot of time.
Okay, so this morning on the Sips of Eden Facebook page, we see this post: Hey, this is Jason and I just took over. Then in the comments, he says he took over on Monday. Pause. You took over on September 21st. I spoke to Eden on September 22nd, and she said she was going to be at my wedding. She never spoke of the business being sold, right? I resent my message probably four times to Eden on text and Facebook, and have not gotten a response. I know that on Facebook it was seen because, you know, you can see when it's read. Um, so yeah, I'm one of many brides sharing my stories. Thank goodness I'm not one of the many brides that were impacted the day of my wedding. I can only imagine the stress that that brought on. Um, but the fact that we are all a part of this massive, not just in Michigan but across state Scandal while planning my wedding, my one most joyful day of my life wedding, is appalling. Also rewind really quick. That original post I commented and was like, "This is crazy. This is who I have hired for May," right? Like because all us brides are coming together. I get this like message, which I had a few messages from a few different like bartending services that were like, "We're so sorry to hear about what happened." with Eden, yada yada, whatever. But this girl like didn't message me from a company page. Her name was Gracie, so I was already like, didn't Eden say her sister's name was Gracie? Um, so I was a little bit hesitant, but I was like, no, that would be the crazy— like, she would not do that, right? So I messaged with her, I got her braids, she had a cake cart. I went on Eden's personal Instagram This Gracie followed her, and it's the only Gracie that followed her, and that she followed back. So when I messaged her and I was like, so do you know her personally? Like, are you the sister that she talked about? And she was like, yeah, but we were adopted separately. And but then— so okay, so they were— she said they were adopted separately, but then she also said that they did the business together, but then her and her mom split off. The story keeps changing.
What? Sorry if I— sorry for y'all. Gracie has the you-know-whats to jump into this girl's DMs and be like, here are my rates for cake, in the midst of all of this going on. Gracie, Gracie, Gracie girl, Gracie Lou Freebush. Why do I have the chills? It's just stupid. I mean Yeah, but we were adopted at different times. Oh cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool. So that's like super different, super different. Okay, it's not, it's not.
I don't know what's going on. There's so much I'm trying to sort out. So I am just one of many brides that is making a video to add to this equation of mess. Um, I'm currently still Seeking out a refund and a response. Um, some news stations are going to be picking this up. Um, probably gonna become legal. Let's be honest, this is the biggest, most ridiculous thing I've ever been a part of, and I can't help but feel stupid for falling for it. But she truly had so many of us fooled. And I will be damned if there is not justice brought to these 70+ brides in this group chat, because now we're the freaking Sisterhood of Eden. 'Cause damn, y'all, planning a wedding is really stressful, but when there's a scammer in your state, it's a little bit more stressful. Pray for me. Pray for me, please. I'm back for one more thing. She has been using the most outlandish excuses, and I don't really know that I spoke on that.
So I mentioned she said she was in a car accident, she had serious surgery, neither of which were true.
She told one bride that her dad just died. I'm a dead dad girl, okay? Like, been there and done that. It was a few years ago for her too. For her too. So that would be like me calling into work and being like, hey, sorry, my dad died back in 2023, I can't make it. And I get to say that. And she also spoke on, um, saying that she had cancer and she was in treatment.
What?
If karma doesn't take care of her. But don't worry, this bartender makes it absolutely more asinine, okay, by sending out messages to people or having her friends send out messages to people saying the following. So posting this here as there's a lot going around about Sip of Eden and Eden Lassay. Last night I stumbled across a post that truly had me concerned. In that post there were a lot of brides Mother of the brides that had been that had very negative things to say about this lady and how she runs her business. After talking it over with my fiancé, we did not want to risk, so I asked her to send proof of having voided our contract. This was her response this morning: To whom it may concern, I'm writing on behalf of Sip of Eden regarding certain false and defamatory statements you have published in Michigan Brides page. These statements are false, lack any factual basis, and have caused or are likely to cause Harm to the reputation and business interests of Sip of Eden. I demand that you immediately and permanently: 1, remove the above statements and any substantially similar statements from all platforms, websites, social media accounts, and other publications under your control. 2, confirm in writing within 3 business days of the date of this letter that the statements have been removed and that a retraction has been issued.
Okay.
If the defamatory statements are not fully removed and a satisfactory retraction is not published by the deadline above, I will instruct my attorney to add you to the list of parties against whom legal action will be pursued for defamation, seeking all available remedies including damages, injunctive relief, and recovery of attorney's fees and costs to the fullest extent permitted by law. This letter is written without prejudice to any rights or remedies available to Sip of Eden, all of which are expressly reserved. Sincerely, authorized representative of Sip of Eden. Now, to be fully clear and transparent, this is what I posted in the chat. Brides beware and maybe double think booking her. Okay, ma'am, I need to bring it in real quick. It is not defamation if it's true. If it's this many people coming together and making these statements, it's not defamation. And also, I, I, I feel like there's a lot of gaps in that letter, and you want people to post a retraction? They're just asking for their money back. That's it, period. Well, I mean, some of them I'm sure are asking for a lot more because you, you ruined a portion of their wedding day. So yeah, they're well within their rights to be like, hey, don't book her. Hey, don't book her. But why are you so concerned about the company Sip of Eden that you sold? You sold it to somebody else. It's no longer your problem. You're worried about yourself, which is understandable. You should be concerned. You got yourself into really, really hot water. People, please get cancellation insurance. Please. Because there's no way— I mean, that one bride, Sam, she's so cute. She was like, I feel stupid. How? You did your research. You saw rave reviews. You saw a price tag and thought, that seems really affordable. I'm going to book that because that's what works for me in a grad school program. Or you know, like the other gal who's a stay-at-home mom and they have one income. They have to be smart with their finances. Of course, they did all the right things and they still ran into the situation. I cannot believe. I cannot believe the hoods above this chick to send this out. Oh my gosh! This person says defamation is making knowingly false statements about someone as per 2016. Oh, I love someone who digs into the records. As per 2016, the Customer Review Fairness Act federally protects consumers leaving honest. Reviews. It bans gag clauses designed to bar you from leaving honest reviews. No financial penalties. Businesses are barred from charging you fines, fees, or suing you for honest negative reviews, and they can't claim intellectual property in an effort to force removal. As per FTC rule on consumer reviews and testimonials, 16 CFR Part 465. Oh, I love you, Tamara. In 2024, the Federal Trade Commission further cracked down. It explicitly bans companies from intimidation, Threats, or false legal accusations to take reviews down. It bans fake reviews and incentives for reviews. So really, she's in violation of intimidation and threats of legal action to take down lawful, honest reviews and should be reported to fraud.ftc.gov. Oh no. I originally booked her for my wedding on August 20th, 2026 in Michigan. She canceled the day of the wedding due to her dad dying. We believed her and gave her space and time because we genuinely felt bad, but 4 weeks later We still hadn't received our money back with the excuse of I was away with no service, I'm out of town, and problems with Stripe. My husband and I were in contact with her up until a few days ago when we threatened legal action and she finally sent us our money back. Perfect. She's the first vendor I paid in full and wonder why I haven't heard from her since. So I'm very nosy and curious what her pricing looked like that so many brides booked with her. Was it too good to be true, or did she have a ton of positive reviews with other brides recommending her and word of mouth just spread? Uh, both. Both. I do think that in a situation like this, if you're going to provide 2 bartenders, um, if they're carrying the liquor liability, if they're doing all the mixing, uh, $600 for one evening, if they're serving alcohol for 5 to 6 hours, that's about $50 per person per hour, which sounds like a lot, but that's got to cover the mixers, that's got to cover the cups, that's got to cover the garnishes, that's got to cover everything else she needs to bring with her— the ice, the cooler, the drive time. So really, we're looking at a cost per hour that's much lower than that. So I would think that in a scenario like this, $750 to $1,000 makes a little bit more sense, if not even more. Actually, $750 is still not enough for mixers and things of that nature. So in my opinion, yes, it was absolutely too good to be true. Oh gosh, we have an update from Sam.
The saga continues. I— if you're new here, I'm Sam. I'm getting married in May. Um, I'm a part of a group chat of 87 Impacted people by a little bartending scandal. Um, so if you haven't watched my last video, go do that real quick, catch up, and then come back. Like, I don't even know where to start. So I messaged Eden on the 22nd of September, and today is the 27th. Um, still blocked. My texts are still green. Um, blocked on Facebook. Um, yeah, there's a separate group chat with the new bartender in it. Oh, I'm trying to understand.
I'm— I really am. Jason, that's very bold of you to take this in— take this in a group chat setting. Okay.
Us brides, future brides and past brides that are expecting a refund, are being told that Sip of Eden is responsible and that's in their agreement. So then we receive the agreement, which is not signed by Eden. Eden did not sign this agreement. So therefore, is it even real?
No. Gosh, you guys, if it is not countersigned, I mean, first of all, it could look like something that was pulled out of a Cracker Jack box. Okay. Some of these, some of these contracts are garbage, garbage. But if it's not countersigned, then it's not enforceable. Please, please, please, please, please look at your contracts and make sure they are countersigned. Make sure they're countersigned and the date is correct. Make sure you are not providing any loophole for a situation like this. We are going to go out here and we're going to trust but verify. Okay? We're going to trust that our vendors are going to show up. We are going to trust that they have a good contract. We are going to trust that they signed up, but we're just going to verify it just in case. Okay? We're not out here to assume that everyone is bad. But if she didn't even sign the contract and no one spotted this, it's not enforceable. I mean, if you have legal knowledge, know more than me, please, please pipe up in the comments down below. But I, I don't think it is, right?
Apparently they met at a Panera and he got verbal agreement from her that she was handling refunds. So it's verbal, right? So that'll definitely hold up. Absolutely. Um, the new business, Bartenders Elite, um, supposedly out of Ohio. bought Sip of Eden for $7,000.
What? What? But he's not inheriting any of the events that she's canceling on. What?
And now he's claiming that he's going to be taking over all of Eden's future events starting the 28th. So tomorrow. But many brides paid in full, and he did not get the deposits from her. Right. So then he's saying he's gonna work the events for free. What?
I don't. I no no no no no. If you're one of these brides, if you're one of these brides, first of all, I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. Um, say hi in the comments. Everyone go be nice to that couple. Um, he can't. That's not sustainable. That's not sustainable. He's gonna have to ratchet up his price. That that is nonsensical. What are we saying, Jason?
I guess the New bartender is also being scammed in this mess. So now it's whatever. Okay.
So in order to prove that he was not Eden, we got a selfie, guys.
Oh, buddy! Yes, I understand. I'm biting the bullet by doing these events for free to do what's right. And trust me, my team and I want to do them. I'm not Eden at all. I'm accustomed as well. What? I will keep you updated. Thanks, everyone. Oh, look at you, Jason.
So imagine you paid in full for a bartending service. That's— this is the solution. Thanks, everyone. So all of us affected brides in this group chat have an entire Google Form. We are collecting all of the information, right? All of the contracts that are completely different, all the prices that are completely different, all the inconsistencies, all of the lies. Um, oh, remember how in my last video I talked about how she was telling people that her dad died?
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. I wanna, I wanna see the document. Can I see it? No, it has personal information on it. Can we block the personal info? I just want to see all the stories.
He died in 2021. Girl, there's a fact, proven fact. So I've messaged a few news stations. I'm talking to a reporter from WXYZ tomorrow. Um, I've messaged some Fox 2 News anchors. Um, if you want to cover this story, let me know. I would love to share some info because this is a little crazy. Um, yeah, so I just wanted to give a little update. I know that's not even the half of it, um, but the inconsistencies keep coming. More and more keeps coming to light. We just had a bride join us from Pennsylvania this morning. So compiling all this information together is gonna be really helpful because going to the Attorney General is the next step. So pray for us. Um, also one of us brides got a phone call from a cop last night because Eden is now claiming that she's getting threats and is being harassed. However, nobody has threatened anything aside from serving her papers.
Well, that you know of.
And asking for the money that she owes.
So this is brutal. Get cancellation insurance. Get cancellation insurance. All these brides, all these brides would have their money back. All these brides, at least. I mean, contingent upon the situation. Ooh, if it's not countersigned, do they get their money back if the contract isn't fully executed? Oh, I cannot impress this upon you enough. I understand that the idea of contracts seems really scary. I understand that. Um, Because you went through everything. You, you did all the things, okay? You made sure the bartender had good reviews. It was an affordable price that, in my opinion as a planner, I'm like, that was a red flag. But how are you supposed to know that? Here you are thinking, yay, it's affordable! We found something that like doesn't scream overly expensive, right? Because you haven't had exposure to any of these prices probably ever in your life. So you did all your due diligence, and then she goes, hey, you get $100 off if you pay in full. And you say, bet, $100, that's a ton of money. And then all of this comes to light. I wonder if she's planning this. Like, I wonder if she was like, okay, I need to make an exit. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to intentionally tell X amount of people to pay in full. She she is she is cognizant of all this going on. She knows. Watch me get some sort of message because there was another one in here. There's another comment on this post from someone who says I zero clue why I got this message, but here we are. And it's that same like defamation, like don't talk about sip of Eden because we're basically going to come after you. This person replies, "I literally have no clue who you are. Please get a life and get the heck out of my inbox, you weirdo." So watch me get some sort of like cease and desist letter. Bring it. Okay, my PO box is listed in the description box down below, which by the way, if you want to send me your invitation, I love them. I love them. I love them. I love them. It's one of my favorite things to receive invitations from you guys because it makes this whole situation feel so much more real. Send me your save the dates. Send me your invitations. I love opening them. I have like a scrapbook full of them. It's just so much fun. So Eden, if you find me, you can just send it there. You can send it there. I get spam there too, so I could just You can just go in the trash with those. Anyways, this is the first time I think I've gotten real spicy over over something. That's not the first time. Let's be so for real. What do you do in a situation? Get get cancellation insurance. Um, do all the correct steps, but a lot of these brides did where you check reviews, check the contract. The the not making sure it's countersigned is a big big big big big big big no no. Um, you got to do that. You got to do that, fam. You have to read your contracts. Just put your— put on your big kid pants for just like a second, okay? And make sure you're reading through all of these. And if you have issues or concerns with your contract, bring it up to the vendor. And if they don't have a clear response or something that makes you feel good inside, your gut's pretty good. Your gut's pretty good. And if your spidey senses are tingling, it's for a reason. It's usually for a reason. If they can't explain something in their contract, I take personal offense to that. So that's what we have for today's video, guys. Thank you so much for watching. If there is more, like if you are a Michigan or Ohio or even a Pennsylvania bride been affected by this, drop it in the comments below. If I want to hear your experience, I want to hear your stories, I want to give you a space to vent. Um, and also, I really want more tea, okay? I really want more tea. I want to see that document. I would not share it on the internet, okay? Everybody calm down. I'm just nosy, and you are too. You watch this video the whole way through. Anyways, that's what we have for today's video, guys.
