A short YouTube monologue (uploaded by Worldwide Ty, recorded December 30, 2024) in which a single speaker recounts advice from a rapper: keep "one foot in your dream and one foot in reality." The speaker reflects that too much dreaming or too much realism each causes problems, and frames the aphorism as guidance for setting goals and pursuing a rap career.
And he said. I said, so what's the first lesson to being a rapper? He was like, you gotta have one foot in your dream and one foot in reality. Cause if you got two feet in your dreams, reality gonna come knocking. And if you got both feet in reality, you gonna feel like, I'm not chasing my dream. And, oh, man, that stuck with me. Cause I was like, that's what you really have to do when you're setting your goals. You gotta have a foot in the dream that you can do it.
