Excerpt of a YouTube video commentary arguing that museum inclusion (e.g., MoMA) legitimizes painters and can dramatically raise the monetary value of their paintings (to hundreds of thousands of dollars). The speaker contrasts this value dynamic with that of songs, noting a single song does not carry the same immediate market uplift.

Because when it comes to having your art in a museum like you made it in some regard as a painter, once your art goes from being a picture on the refrigerator of your mom's house to now being in the MoMA, you know what I'm saying? Like, if people will look at that, consider you have made it, you can start selling paintings upwards of hundreds of thousands of dollars. Like the value of one song is not the same way as the value of one painting.
