In this brief YouTube short, the speaker questions whether the American Dream truly offers real equity for Black and Brown individuals. He reflects on centuries of systemic oppression and injustice faced by people who look like him, expressing a feeling of exclusion from the promise of the American Dream.
When we say, can our leverage teach us real equity? That's my American dream. I'm thinking, all of the people that look like me, the brown and the black people that look like me, that struggled and suffered through all of these centuries of, like, injustice or systematic oppression and all of those different aspects of it, I'm like, yeah, we ain't part of the American dream.
