Worldwide Ty describes pivoting from a failed B2B supply-chain platform called Relink to building a tech solution for protecting cultural and community intellectual property. The original project, pitched as an Alibaba for Africa, didn't work out, but the new direction tackles IP protection at scale.
We just have so many commonalities around. How can we ensure that our culture and our community can protect our intellectual property when it comes to those cultural assets that we create? And we have a technology solution that makes this scalable, right? And so that led to this whole journey. At first it was called like relink. We were trying to be like this whole B2B E commerce platform, like Alibaba for Africa was never worked in like supply chain or whatever. We're going to do it, fuck your money.
