So apparently there's this viral mooncake in Hong Kong that's selling for $688. My mom just came back from Hong Kong, so let's unbox it and try it out together. This is Spring Moon's mooncake box from the peninsula. The package is super delicate, as you would expect. And here it talks about the tradition of Spring Moon's Michelin-starred team who's been crafting custard mooncakes since 1968. So if you didn't know, mooncake is a traditional Chinese It's a dessert that's served every year around autumn for Mid-Autumn Festival, which is a time for families to reunite. I think this is super cute. Here are the mooncakes. They're very delicate and a lot smaller than most mooncakes. I love the motif from the actual box. There are 8 in total, which is a lucky number in Chinese. Here it says you're supposed to bake them for 6 minutes, and there's even a video demonstration. I love that it's heart-shaped. I've never had a mooncake that's this shape before. I just microwaved it, and it's super crumbly and soft. Wow, that's amazing. I've never had a mooncake that's this texture. It just melts in your mouth. It's not super sweet, but you can definitely taste the custard. The mix of the vanilla flavor and the egg on the inside Is addictive. Yeah, I get why you have to heat it up. The pastry that they're using is also really special. It's crumbly, almost like the bottom of cheesecake, but it's also very soft and it's not super dense. Mmm, it's really good, right? Yeah. I'd give it a 9 out of 10. You should definitely try it if you're in Hong Kong.
