Sponsoring a MrBeast video for my app

In this vlog, Matt, the founder of Cal AI (also referred to as Kalei), documents his spontaneous trip from a 7:36 AM flight to Greenville, North Carolina to sponsor a behind‑the‑scenes segment of a MrBeast challenge video. He narrates his arrival at the studio, the surreal atmosphere filled with fan art and massive cash props, and his nervous encounter with MrBeast and his assistant Jimmy. Matt explains the purpose of the sponsorship—spending roughly half a million dollars to get Cal AI featured—and describes his attempts to pitch the app in a brief on‑camera segment. He showcases the app’s core value proposition: taking a photo of food to instantly calculate calories and macros, positioning it as the easiest way to track nutrition, especially when eating out. The vlog also captures informal interactions with the crew, including Tariq the videographer, who praises the app, and Matt’s hopes to secure further connections (e.g., Jimmy’s phone number). Throughout, Matt reflects on the bold risk of flying out at the last minute, the excitement of meeting a YouTube icon, and the entrepreneurial mindset of “just say fuck it and do it.” The video ends with a call‑to‑action encouraging viewers to download Cal AI using a MrBeast‑provided QR code and promo code.

Good morning, it's 7:36 AM and I'm about to get on a flight to Greenville, North Carolina for MrBeast promo with Cal AI. They just released their video where they put a guy in a gym until he loses 100 pounds and then he walks away with half a million dollars. And while we couldn't sponsor that one because it was on the main channel and it would have been a crazy price, the behind the scenes is about to come out. They're filming it today and so we sponsored it. I should be able to meet MrBeast and the whole team. It's so crazy to think we only started 14 months ago.
Escape ropes are located near the forward window exit for use in a water evacuation.
Greenville, North Carolina.
We're here.
I'm in the mood for Popeyes, but I don't think we have time. I miss you, I miss you, I miss you.
310, get it. I'm currently in the bathroom of MrBeast's right-hand man. I just changed into my jeans and I'm about to go out, but I'm about to go to the studio. Just stopped here, dude. This is getting really surreal.
Everywhere around the studio, it was covered in fan art, and some were really good. They uploaded 26 videos on their channel in 2024, which at their production quality is crazy. I was just thinking about how surreal the experience was as I was walking around. Pile of glowing money. That is sick. What is going on there? Dude, I feel so awkward doing this. This is where greatness starts. This is the best place to be starting out YouTube. Look at this. Last to leave the swamp gets some weird disease. Guys, I think we found where they're filming. I am sweating so much right now. It is so hot. It's 90-something degrees. We're about to go in. We're gonna meet Jimmy, and you know, I don't want him to think I'm just this guy that sweats a lot. He doesn't like me or something.
Oh! Open the door.
Yo, there's this rusty car in the parking lot. I would feel bad if it's someone's car and I'm saying this about it, but they've got to be destroying it for a video or something. We then drove over to meet up with Jimmy, MrBeast's assistant, but there was a chance Jimmy was going to be on set. We're about to go into the filming set, and I don't know how much of this I can legally film without getting sued, so let's see how much I can, but you may not see any more clips. I walked in and I wasn't sure what to expect. There were screens everywhere and a live MrBeast challenge was happening. I got a little tour around the area and then I sat down to watch for a couple of minutes and then a door behind me opens. And guess who comes in? Jimmy, MrBeast himself. Instinctively I stood up. I wanted to meet him but didn't want to interrupt his flow. I was really nervous. Thankfully, his assistant introduced us. I shook his hand and I told him how inspired I was by him. He said thank you, but then he left. He had to go deal with the shoot. Immediately, I felt a wave of regret. Was this really all I came out to North Carolina and spent half a million dollars for? Just a handshake?
Okay, so I'm in the bathroom right now. I just shook hands with MrBeast, introduced myself, and that was like a 5-second thing. We just left away from there. We're in a new set where we're actually going to be filming our segment. I mean, I really have to try to get like a quick pitch of myself in like 5 to 10 seconds. Get him hooked. I need to try to get his number or something because like ideally I am super inspired by him and I want to— hopefully he's interested in just having more conversations. That's my goal. That's why I flew out here. That's why we're spending half a million dollars on this video. I gotta go.
They started filming the actual video that we were sponsoring. I got to see the script of what was going on and watch from a distance. They were filming for probably 45 minutes.
I just spoke to the team and they're potentially going to sneak me into the video for a clip. We'll see if that happens.
Then Jimmy started calling my name because they were ready for the sponsored segment.
My current weight—
do you do calories by the day or tell me later?
No, I do every day. So like, so I put 1900 calories.
Thank you.
See that? Those things are sick. All right, has there been any— has there been any lifestyle changes, man, that you've made since you got out of the circle that's helped you lose weight? Yeah, I still continue to track my food every single day, and I've been using this app called Cal AI where I take a picture and it literally tracks my calories and macros.
Really?
Yeah.
You've been using the Cal AI app where you literally just have to take a picture of food and it'll calculate the macros and say them. Every time. Oh, that's fascinating. It's almost like we brought the founder out. Come on in to tell you guys about the app. Wait, wait, this is the founder? What's up, man? Sorry, I'm in the middle of a workout.
Sorry, sorry.
So, uh, so I'm gonna be transparent. Um, uh, so, or how should I do it? Just like, so Matt just told me about his app, so I decided to bring him out because, uh, so Cal AI is sponsoring this video. So I thought, why not bring out the founder? Why should they use Kalei to track the macros? I mean, I already know why, because it's the greatest app ever for tracking them, but let's hear it from him.
Let's go. If you want the easiest way to lose weight, then Kalei is the solution. All you have to do is take a picture of your food and it will tell you the calories and the macros right there. If you're eating out at restaurants, how else are you going to track your calories? You can't bring a scale to the restaurant, so Kalei is really the best way.
That's true. My question is, why did this not exist? It seems so obvious. Like, of course you just want to take a picture of your food, know the macros, and not have to like punch in a bunch of random stuff and do calculations. It's like, this is amazing. Oh, uh, and then yeah, you're still there in the shot. Okay, anyways, bro, if you're not using Kalei, what are you doing? Just use code MrBeast when you scan this QR code on the founder space or the link in the description. Download it right now, first 3 days are on me.
The filming went great. They even let me come on for a segment which is pretty sick. We'll see if it makes the final cut. But the coolest thing is that during the middle of the segment, Tariq, Jimmy's videographer, who's become pretty famous at this point, came onto set and Jimmy asked him, "Do you know what Call.ai is?" And he went on this rant how he downloaded the app 3 days ago and it's been super cool. And then Jimmy was like, "Well, I have the founder out here." And then Tariq came, he dapped me up. He was like, "Yo, no way, dude. I watch your podcast. It was so cool." Tariq's such a sick guy. I only regret not asking for his phone number. And then right after filming was done, I took a picture with Jimmy and then I popped the question. It's like, could I get your number? He said to get his assistant's number and his assistant is going to connect us. So we'll see if that actually happens. I left and I was feeling over the world. It was so fun coming out here. Such a great experience seeing everything. I potentially just made one of the best connections of my life. Sometimes you just gotta say fuck it and do things on the fly. Last night it was 10 PM. I was chilling in my friend's room watching a movie when I got a call invited fly out first thing in the morning, 7 AM, and come to Greenville, North Carolina to see the video in action. So you just gotta say fuck it and do this, and the rest is up to God.
It's going in the vlog, baby.
Charging up. Gotta go to the airport. We might miss our flight. It's 5:20. I've been really good on my diet recently, but I felt like I deserved it, so I got Doritos and this— Back in New York. All right, the Uber is arriving right now, and I think I'm gonna end the video here. Go relax, listen to an audiobook or some music, and then go to bed at home. It's 10:30 right now, probably be home at 11. Guys, this was a day in my life. I go on one of these crazy journeys or adventures once every— there's some girls laughing at me right now— um, once every like 1 or 2 months, something just crazy I get invited to fly out to. So my goal with this channel is just to vlog these crazy moments I get to experience as an 18-year-old entrepreneur. Follow along the journey and walk me the rest of the top.
