Short YouTube video by Aaron Whybrow (Diagnostics and Finance) explaining that people of any age are generally eligible for 30-year mortgages, with special planning considerations for borrowers whose loan term extends past retirement. The speaker emphasizes having an exit strategy (owning property free-and-clear, selling investment property, assessing assets/liabilities) and encourages viewers to contact him for advice.
30 year mortgages. Hey, it's Aaron from Diagnostics and Finance. Did you know everyone is eligible for a 30 year mortgage no matter age, background, anything. There might just be a little bit of explanation of what you might need to do if the loan term goes past retirement. The retirement rule there's not uncommon for a 60, 65 year old to get a 30 year mortgage, but they have to be backed up. They have to most likely own their own home, have no mortgage on it if it's an investment, their exit strategy since they may have equity in it, maybe just to sell it. You might even find that brokers and even myself are asking questions these days of anyone between the age of 40 and 55 where they have a 30 year mortgage term that sort of hits the retirement age. How are we going to deal with it? What are we going to do? What are the assets and liabilities behind that? How is this person going to repay it past there? And this is all great questions to be asking because you do have to exit, we do have to plan for retirement and we do have to build wealth. So if you're not looking at how you're going to get out of your owner occupied mortgage, you want to build some wealth, you need to give us a call today.
