Short YouTube video (Aaron from Diagnostics and Finance) offering practical advice for people affected by bushfires: contact your bank about relief (repayment holds or interest freezes), ensure the bank records the hold/freeze and provides full details, and be aware that repayment history on credit files covers the last two years. The speaker offers broker assistance and contact information.
Hey, it's Aaron from Diagnostics and Finance. Just want to talk about a quick topic on the bushfires. Everyone's probably had some phone calls, text messages, emails in regards to your bank giving you some relief because you've either been touched by the fire or there's something going on that you need some help with regards to the bushfire relief packages that are coming out. There's millions of dollars being talked about for charities, for the banks. Just you've got to be in communication with your credit provider. If you're not, please get on the phone to them and talk to them. If you need any help with that as a broker, we can jump on the phone and help you out with that. One of the things you need to be mindful of is when you are talking to them, make sure that they're going to either put your repayments on hold or freeze your interest or whatever they're going to do for you. Make sure you give them all the information and just clarify. About a year ago, your credit file now has your repayment history for the last two years on it. Just be mindful that they are going to put that on hold as well so that when you are over this circumstantial issue of a fire and you've got yourself back on your feet that you can actually go and improve and build again or whatever you need to do with some borrowed money. Just a couple of tips there. If you are in need of any financial advice related to hardship with the banks and and or repayment history, just give me a call. My number will be in the text above. All right, have a great day.
