Hey, Brendan, thanks for joining me today. Would you mind introducing yourself, who you are and where you work?
I'm Brendan Garlick. Thanks to Aaron. I now live in Bly park and I work as a paper machine operator.
And before we met, what were some of your inspirations?
Getting married to my now wife. Debt consolidation. I had some unskilled personal debts that were sort of weighing me down, and home ownership was the biggest goal that I was working towards.
Cool. And what were some of the problems you were facing at the time?
Yeah, so definitely, like I mentioned, it was. Had a couple of unsecured personal debts which weren't too bad, but they were just taking a bit longer to clear. And at the time I was making good money. Still am, but just trying to get on top of all of it. And I didn't have any clear direction in my financial situation. Okay, cool.
What did this mean to you at that time?
At the time, it meant living with my parents to try to save money, which I'd only been there for a couple of months, but most people appreciate it's not an ideal situation when you in your mid-20s. And it also meant that I couldn't move forward in my adult life as far as having a family and getting married and things like that. Okay, cool.
What would you say would be the three biggest things that have had the biggest impact for you?
Definitely debt consolidation and financial clarity. It's been overwhelmed with how much difference that's made to my life. And now the house that we're sitting in, owning this, owning a house, that, sitting is just magic. It's indescribable.
That's awesome. And why was it so important to you?
I guess, like everyone, it's the great Australian dream. It's security. I've rented three or four different places in my early adult years. And the restrictions that that brings over home ownership and the security that comes with home ownership is. It can't be cool.
And with the results you've achieved, at the end of the day, what been the impacts on you for these results?
It's allowed me to start my own family, get married. It's pretty exciting. And moving forward in financial stability as far as not just working to make a wage, but start working towards investments and investment properties and things like that.
Just with an. So finish this sentence. I almost didn't meet you because, well.
I'd just been looking for a broker to work with for about a week. The day I made contact with you, I'd spoken about three different brokers. They all came across as suits to me, they were very sort of cold. Yes. No men. And probably weren't that interested in what I had to say. The day I called you, it was late in the afternoon. I was a bit surprised to receive a call that late. And you were being a husband and a father at the time, and we had a business meeting, and it just made me feel very relaxed and sort of. I connected with you in a much more common way, and it made it a lot easier to talk to you and open up to you about the situation I was in and get the help that I needed to improve. Awesome.
And what do you think is the biggest thing about working with me, apart from me being a nice guy?
Well, apart from being a nice guy. For me, you're basically a superhero of financials. Where I was struggling, I was asking around a few people. I was asking for a bit of help, trying to benefit the situation I was in. Sorry, better. The situation I was in. And you've come in and been able to show me where I was going wrong, clear up the personal debt that I was in, make it much easier to manage, and help me ultimately save for the deposit for this house and help us ultimately secure it. So, I mean, there's superheroes out there, but you're my superhero.
Okay, cool. And who do you think would get the most out of my services, and who would that be?
Anyone. There's not one set type of person, as such, anyone who finds themselves to be making reasonable money and feel like they should be doing better, and maybe they've got a bit of personal debt that might be weighing them down, or they may just not have that financial clarity and know how to move forward. Anyone like that, anyone that feels like they could relate to my situation, you'll be able to help them, no problem. Okay, cool.
So I'm fully stoked that we were able to get these results for you. Let's keep pushing forward for better results.
Yeah.
And thanks, Rita.
Great.
