Hey, everybody. Welcome back to another episode of the Conscious Pivot Podcast. I am so. I feel so wonderful in this moment. I feel grateful and appreciative that I get to be here. It is, without a doubt, no guarantee that we get to be here in this moment. So it's a blessing. And I feel. I feel honored to be able to spend my time this way and also to be able to remind myself as well as remind all of you how special it is that we get to be together. Wherever you are right now, you could be at the gym, you could be driving, or in front of your computer somewhere. I mean, we're always doing some different things as we're consuming content these days. But the one reminder I have for myself and that I have for all of you is that we are together. We are connected through this medium, but we're always connected through this breath. We are connected. So wherever you are, whatever you're doing right now, I know one thing for sure. I know that you are, in fact breathing. And so what we'll do now is just create some consciousness around our breathing for just a moment. As I'm speaking, of course, if you're operating any heavy machinery, be sure to keep your eyes open. Otherwise, if you can, you can give yourself just a moment to close your eyes and. And take a deep, conscious breath and realize, as I am realizing it, how divine this moment is, how blessed we all are, how important this moment is, because it provides us an opportunity not just to be present in name or as a term, but to be in the experience of our lives fully and to appreciate in this moment, the infinite that's within us, all that there is that we yet have yet to experience, that we do not know, and how much a gift that is for ourselves and for the world. And of course, as we take this breath, as we receive a breath, there are people who are taking and receiving their very last breath in this moment. So it really is something to appreciate regardless of whether there are challenges in your life, there are challenges in everybody's lives. And to be in appreciation, to be in gratitude is divine. And it is a wonderful place for us to begin this podcast. This is going to be a wonderful episode, a wonderful show because I have a gentleman with me. His name is Robert Clancy and I've just met him recently. He's a new friend and I'm already a huge, huge fan of him as a human being. He's just a good, good man and somebody that I think you guys are going to enjoy listening to, learning from. He's got a pretty magnificent story. He's got a great pivot story. Not that we ever compare these pivot stories. Everybody's got their own. It's always unique and they're always so special. But this gentleman has done some pretty incredible things. So just a couple of moments, I'll bring him on and you'll get to hear directly from him what he's passionate about, what he's working on in his business, his life, and how his pivot has led him to the place that he is in the moment, in, in this moment. He is the founder of a company called Spiral Designs and they've been around for 30 years. Incredible company in the marketing space, ad design, branding, kind of a. I don't want to say a one stop shop. I'll let him speak more about his business, but it sounds like they do some really incredible high end work for companies large and small. Amongst those companies are Citigroup and Home Depot and they've done a lot of work, I think, with entrepreneurs, small business owners as well. So he's going to be a great resource today. I'm going to talk a little bit about that, how he got into that business as well as some of the other pursuits he's had. He's also a best selling author and he writes about spiritual topics, something that is really near and dear to my heart as well, and has an incredible following on Facebook. I don't want to say too much, guys know, I typically don't do these long introductions, but toss it back over to our guest so he can share what he's passionate about. Just before we turned on the microphones, you know, turn up the lights and hit the record button, we were talking about his work as a volunteer for a youth organization. That is also something that's really near and dear to my heart. So I hope we'll get a chance to speak about that as well. And without further ado, Robert Clancy, welcome to the show today.
Well, thanks for having me on, Adam. It's truly an honor and a pleasure to be here.
Yeah, I really appreciate the work you've been doing and I'd love to know what is it that you're really passionate about today? I know we're always looking for inspiration. I mean, I'm no different. You're no different. We wake up in the morning, put our feet on the floor and ask for some assignment. I believe either consciously or unconsciously, we're looking for that assignment on a day to day basis. And you've been really productive in your life. So tell us a little bit about what you're committed to these days. Fill in any gaps in my introduction of yourself and go from there.
Yeah, I've had quite a journey so far. Absolutely loving every moment of it. And that's the beauty of life, is it unfolds every day and you have that. I love the beautiful blessing and the gratitude message that you started with because that's really what it's all about. I'm passionate about bringing a message of positive peace to positivity, peace and self worth to the world. And I do that through my inspirational posts. And I'm one of those people that I really see my path. There's a career and a calling and they're both intertwined like DNA and using my career and my business and marketing and these incredible creative people that I work with to get a message out to the world. And I've stepped out of the elevator on the floor. I'm there and ready and poised to do this. And I have a huge national television appearance coming up. Actually tapes next month. Talk about stepping through the door. I'm there.
Can I. This is coming up for me. So I'm just gonna ask you, are you a little, a little nervous about that television appearance?
No, I'm really excited about it. It's, you know, the producer, I had my pre interview and they're saying, you know, it's just a beautiful thing and left me with this message. We're looking forward to learning from you. Wow, that was just kind of set the tone for okay, you know, I'm ready to do this, you know, and I didn't really set out per se to do this or to become famous or to, you know, you know, go on that level. It's more of something that I need to do, not something I want to do.
Yeah, exactly. So what's the need based on?
There's a divine, you know, I had a divine intervention at 19 and I know I gave you a little bit of that backstory, but yeah, let's just say, I know, let's just say beyond a shadow of a doubt that I have no doubt that there is a heaven. And I've had to live with this knowing since I was 19. I kept this a secret even from my own family. But I was at the lowest point in my life at age 19 and you know, this person recognized it and then the workplace that I was at. And she gave me this booklet on how to meditate. And I went home and did it. But before I started, I said, if there's a God, I need to see something and you need to show me that tonight. And also if you exist, I need help because I'm at rock bottom. I lost friends to suicide and car accidents and just my whole world fell apart. And a 19 year old in my second year of college, pretty much between first and second year, and I was destroying myself, I didn't want to be here. And so I started this meditation. And all I can tell you is what I told my dad in 2012, because that's the first time I told my family, is that during this meditation an angel manifested in front of me. And I know what I saw because I'm a programmer. I'm the most logical person you're going to meet on this planet. I actually got the highest score on the logic exam in college. That's how logical I am.
And you and I are sympathetic in so many ways because we have a 19 year old son, Max, and he was his first semester school, he just, he just completed it and he took logic and got an A. I remember that was one of the courses because I was terrible in math, but I got an A in logic. It was, it was like the easiest course I'd ever taken. Then I ultimately became, you know, a lawyer for a bunch of years, but 19, 18, 1917, 18, 19, I don't know where it began, but that's a tough time. It's a tough time in a teen's life. And I can't speak for how it is to be that age as a young lady, but as a young man, I know it was difficult for me, it was difficult for our son. We have three daughters and two of them didn't have such a hard time around then. The third one, who's 17 now, she seems to be pretty, you know, she's got her ship pretty, pretty steady on the water. But Max, he did have a harder time and I would say had some things gone differently, he could have, you know, he wouldn't be here. And we just got a phone call this past, I guess it was two days ago that some dear friends of ours, so we have some deep connections to the east coast. We live in California now, but my dad lives western Massachusetts and my wife and I met in Massachusetts. We still, we still have a place there. And some friends of ours that live in that community let us know. That 18 year old young man in that community was on his way to school and, you know, fiddling maybe with the radio or something, and veered off the road and two other kids in the car, and he didn't make it. The other two.
Thank God we had that happen. Yeah. In our own community. There was four students in a car coming back from a basketball game. And these are kids doing everything right, and another guy, same age is doing everything wrong, hit the back of their car and ended up killing two of them. And he pled guilty to all counts on this. I guess that brought some closure to the families. But I became friends with the. There's a girl of one family. It was two couples in the car, the football. He was the captain of the team. This guy that looked out for everybody. And then there was a young woman who was also a star on her softball team, was the girlfriend of the other couple. And those two lost their lives. And my words are on her headstone. Like, the family approached me. I wrote something because I started putting these messages out on my Facebook page. And now there's, you know, over 660,000 people following the posts. I just decided one day, you know, I'm gonna. I'm gonna set a goal to write one inspirational thing every every week for a year. And then I thought that was too easy, so I did it every day. And I just started putting these messages out and they were, you know, all people around the world have been touched. I've been messaged by a woman who was a mother who was planning on committing suicide, saw my words come up in her feed and changed her mind, and she messaged me. I mean, you know, you can't put a price tag on that. It's priceless. And with the divine experience I had, you know, this angel touched me in the forehead. And I get these words that I see, you know, since December 1, 2012, like, God's math is on everything. And I'm just inspired by everything. I could see a fire extinguisher. And the word respiratory could be on the fire extinguisher. And the quote would be, you'll never have respiratory issues when the air is filled with love. Just breathe and enjoy life. And then I'll see the word pressure. So that'll be a metaphor when you feel the Weight of the world upon you know that love holds up anything as long as your faith does, too. And I know you can see me right now. The others, you know, that are listening, can't. But you can tell I'm not reading these. They're just, like, stored as pictures in my mind. I can see photos of these words, and they're. I've written 60,000 words, so, yeah, that's, you know. And how do you start a conversation? So what's your story? So an angel touched me in the forehead. I'm divinely inspired.
Come on.
I'm supposed to leave this legacy to the world. That's. Every day, man.
I travel the subway for years and years in Manhattan, you know, like, that's a daily conversation.
Yeah.
Do you happen to remember the words that are on that. That headstone?
Yes.
What were those words?
When you smile with all your. Your heart, like. Or when you love with all your heart, life becomes one big smile. Those are the words.
Yeah. Beautiful. Well, I'm glad that I was. I was willing. I was thinking to myself, as you were sharing that. Do I want to digress into that place? But the truth is, it's important. There is a. There's a huge issue in the world, in a lot of different areas of the world, with depression, with suicide. In fact, I remember we were in Australia a few years back and. And they had a huge uptick in the suicide rate among people, men and women from about 20 to 35 years old. And then we came back to the States. We're talking about it, we're thinking about it, because we had been delivering some workshops there. We love the Australian. Love that community and love going there and all that kind of thing. We have a number of people in our community from Australia as well. And then we got back and we were just about to launch our book Pivot, and we were in Manhattan for this launch party and in a restaurant, looked at the newspaper. I forget whether it was the front page of the New York Times or the Wall Street Journal, but it was one of those. And on the front page, the suicide rates had been published. They had, you know, do this study sort of every 15 years or so. And the rates had gone up precipitously. And the largest increase, the largest change in those numbers was actually among women 40 to 60 years old in the. In North America. And so very different demographic psychographic in Australia and. But the same sort of thing that people were taking their lives at an alarmingly higher rate. And also among teenage girls, young, very young, like 12, 13, and not big numbers, of course we know they're not large numbers, but the rise, the change in the percentage was.
And it's all about self worth. And that, that's what it's not having the capacity to change it. And that's really what I set out to do. Because as a programmer, I know we can reprogram ourselves for happiness. We can program ourselves to have a better ride. And life is meant to be written out to the end. So my decoding part, I have these little decodes and we'll go over some of my daily routines. But you know, one of them is smiling when you're alone. How many people don't smile when they're alone? And the reason I smile when I'm alone is because I realize I never am. That's the beauty of life. You're always held in some way and understanding the self worth, it's, you know, if you think of a painting, so think of the most beautiful painting you've ever seen. Now if I shrunk you down and put you on that painting and on that canvas and you looked around you, you would just see a bunch of bloody crappy colors sometimes, depending where you are in it. But when you back up, you're looking at a Raphael painting, you're looking at Matisse, you're looking at something done by Leonardo da Vinci or one of the masters. When you back up, you see the whole picture. The reason we never see the picture that God has painted for us is we're always standing on that canvas. You just have to believe that you're standing on that bigger, that bigger beautiful image, because that's what it is. All of those things add up to that. All the colors and all the experiences you have. You know, when you're going through something in your life and I've come to that realization, and that's really the beauty of life, is to learn all those experiences. Why do you think we have them all? They all mean something. Just like we have things that taste sweet and things that taste bitter. But when you mix them just right, sometimes, you know, you make something incredible with it.
Robert, do you dig A Course in Miracles?
I, you know, that's the other I've read about. You know, I can count them on my hand, on one hand, the number of spiritual books that I've read and have actually finished. You have to take away a couple fingers. And I haven't done any of these courses. All of this stuff is just what I call downloaded. I just innately feel it, know it, and I'm giving the information for it. And I've talked to some incredible spiritual people on this planet and they're. They're going, you know, they're looking at me saying, wow, how do you know that? Like, I just do. It was given. That's how I've lived my life for the last 30 years. And I've taken incredible, incredible time to look at the smallest moments of life because that's where the beauty is. I'll sit there and look at just how a child smiles, how two people are holding hands, how they're just talking to each other. Just the littlest things in life are where the beauty is. And when you stop to see that, I call it old souls. Old souls do stop and smell the roses. That's what you need to do. Slow down and take it in as fast as everything's coming at us with technology, the Internet and the news. And, you know, there's stuff now being talked about on the news that I'm just sitting thinking, okay, this is an opinion of an opinion of an opinion. And you know how that is when you pass word of mouth down the chain. The whole story is different by the end. And they're reporting on things as it's. It is, you know, locked down. This occurred. We don't know. You have to have. I like to sit back and get all the facts first, you know, And I'm not saying there's fake news. I'm not on either political side, trust me on that one. But there is some validity to waiting to actually get the full story because, you know, there's people that are making judgments before all the facts are in. And when did we switch over to that?
Well, I don't know that there's ever been a. As I'm contemplating what you're saying, I don't know that I feel like there's been a switchover. I feel that the judgment's been with us too long, too long to remember for any of us when that began. But a couple of things that you said, I think really important one is that I don't believe it requires a reading meaning. I think our spiritual practices are different, our paths are different, yet all roads lead to the same place, regardless of what the teaching is or the text is. I do think the text and the teaching is important. It has been for me anyway, because it helps me to open myself into that sport, to allow myself to be open when I'm closed and I find my heart opens and closes. The way in the aperture of a old camera with camera lens works it opens and closes. And I think that's probably the case for most people as well. So anything that helps me to open is a great thing. And I love A Course in Miracles. Not because I've read it, because I've only read actually one section of it. I've perused other areas of it. But I've spent a few years in this one spot that a friend referred me to, chapter 30, which is the new beginning. And what's really beautiful in that spot in the text is the discussion of decisions, of these decisions that we're making from the moment we wake. And probably even in our unconscious states, we're making decisions continuously, either with the truth, knowledge of love and of what is true, or with something that's less truth, more from a place of fear or some other word that whatever you would say is the antithesis of love. And very much, I think those are judgments. Those decisions are our judgments. So you're right. We're making judgments all the time. And the question is, what are you making those judgments, those decisions with? And so to. To be witness to all the places where love exists. In fact, there's a. I think it's fair to say there's. There's no. There's nothing we can look at that isn't. Some. Doesn't represent love in some way that they're right in. In even in the ugliest of things, the ugliest of situations, the ugliest of behaviors that people. Of people and everything else. There's nothing innate or there's nothing about that that isn't rooted in love in some way. And to see that or to feel that, I think is not an easy thing to do because we tend to want to move to judgment and make things right or wrong or good or bad. And I guess that's a part of how we navigate the world. Do you agree with that?
Yeah. You know, and I kept seeing the image, you know, that when we're mired in the shadows of despair or when you're in this darkness, you fail to see that light. But from. If you pull back the perspective when you're in those shadows, the shadow is created by the light. And you can just simply step out of it to be back in it. Which, you know, if I look at it that way, then all darkness has some form of light connected to. Because the darkness couldn't exist without light. When you look at the silver lining in a situation, that's where the light is. My mother was diagnosed with cancer, and she had really emotionally gone in a Downward spiral at that point. And it was affecting her health. Then she got early form of dementia, which then was taking her short term memory. My sister thought, okay, she's getting Alzheimer's now. She's not going to remember us. And we're going to be in this, you know, just awful because now she's got cancer plus this. Well, guess what? She forgot. She forgot that she had cancer. And every day I saw her from that point forward, she was smiling and there was no more stress on her face. And I, you know, I know it extended her life because that's how, how it works. And then I thought, you know, when I was putting her funeral video together, every picture I found over, she's smiling in it. And I remembered at that moment, I grew up with that. Every day I had that smile and thought, what a beautiful thing that, you know, she brought to my life and to others because she was a beautician. And this one woman at her wake said, your mother, you know, she said, I know I'm an ugly duckling. That's how she came over to me. She said, but one thing that your mother, you know, she not only made me look beautiful, the most important thing is she made me always feel beautiful.
What a magnificent tribute to your, to your mom. The universe is the most perfect machine ever created. I remember Emmett Fox. I read something that Emmet Fox read and wrote, and I read it. My view of the universe changed when I read that. Because there's no, there's no extra parts. You think about a perfect machine. There's no parts that aren't supposed to be in the machine. And there's nothing, and there's nothing lacking. And so even the word need. And I'm almost, I'm a bit of a bit sensitive, I'll just say to that word in particular when I hear the word need come up. Only because I do feel that in so many ways we operate. And I don't want to include you in this, I just say that this is a personal experience and then I've witnessed it. And a lot of the people that we end up working with are part of our community where we think there's something missing, we think there's something lacking. That's probably the challenge. One of the biggest challenges in the human potential space or the personal development industry is the perpetuation of this myth or this lie that somehow we're in need, that we're lacking or missing something. If we just learn something, if we just, you know, change this or that, it will be, we'll Be okay.
Yeah, mine is. It's like a change about us, right? I mean, yeah, it's a change in perspective on it. It's not that it's always missing, it's this that you're, you're missing out on seeing it.
Like seeing the fact that there's, as we were saying, the. These experiences or things that we observe in the world. If we looked at it as though if our perspective was that there's nothing erroneous about it. There's nothing that's in there that's not supposed to be in there, there's nothing that's missing from it because it is this, this perfect system, machine, whatever you want to call it, that we wouldn't judge quite as harshly. I think that something is wrong even in the midst of a tragedy like it. Very difficult to hear of the passing of an 18 year old boy in an accident just as we did, and not feel the tragedy of that and the despair for the people who have lost this young man and to have our hearts be broken for the whole situation. And yet at some other level in me, I feel called to feel that nothing's wrong somehow. That even in the midst of that, that there is something that is. That there's nothing wrong or lacking or missing again because.
Yeah, perfect.
And that's a, you know, very difficult to entertain those two seemingly conflicting perspectives at the same time and yet still honor, honor the grief and honor what's real in the moment, which is that no one wants to lose someone ever. And you never want to see anybody else lose someone that they love. And to entertain that compassion and awareness at the same time that you might entertain the thought that nothing's wrong.
Yeah.
In absolute terms is interesting.
Well, the night that my dad, you know, when I spoke to him, my mother was gonna pass away and we knew it was coming, you know, and I was given that it was around gonna happen at 2:30am so this is around 8pm prior to that. And I was walking him back up to his room, you know, he was in a nursing home because of the stroke that he had. So he was in a wheelchair. So I'm bringing him back up to his room and on the way he said two simple, you know, three words and it summed up everything. He said, death and taxes. And he was smiling. And at that moment I realized, you know, here he is in his twilight, knowing that he's facing death soon and that, you know, his wife of 64 years is going to pass as well. And he also made a joke in that which taught me a lot, because it's like, yeah, we're all not going to get out of this alive. It's, what do you do between that day you're born and your last day? Whether that's at, you know, 10 years, 18, 20, 50, 70, 90, whatever that is. But he also said, you gotta laugh your way through and find the humor in those moments, too. And that's all he did. He just said those three words to me. I took him to his room and he said three other words, you know, I love you. Which, you know, in six words summed up everything. Yeah, that's all it takes. And that's why I always try to smile. And you know, in the moments, I guess when you're, when you're in a heated argument or something, if you can find the humor in that, it just dissipates the whole thing, just something absolutely absurd that's going on in that moment. Because anytime you're arguing, it's totally absurd. So when you can look at it and pull yourself out of it in the middle of it, you'll find the humor of, why am I even worried about this? This is going to be nothing in tomorrow, a week, a month. You know, it's really not worth it.
I remember. So Randy and I, my wife and I, we do some relationship work with people and done some retreats and things, and we interview couples. Whenever we see a couple that's been, you know, together for some, some length of time, we'll interview them, ask them what their secret is. And I love this one answer that we got from a couple and said, yeah, well, the way we argue. So sometimes we'll ask people, you know, how it is that you conduct an argument. Because that's important to realize. We're going to argue, we're going to disagree. It's the how you do it that makes a big difference in where that relationship has been. What trajectory is it on? Where's it going? How long is it going to last? And this couple said to us that when they're in the midst of an argument or they, they can feel it coming on, they feel the emotion. They feel, feel the, even the anger that's, that's welling up, one of them will trigger the other by, by looking at them and saying, you know, you're really good looking. You're really good looking when you, when you're mad. Right? And that's their way of getting, bringing.
It to the conscious, bringing it out of, you know, what is this all about anyway?
Exactly?
Putting we're on the same team, it's.
Basically saying, yeah, right, wink, wink, nod, nod, you know. Yeah. Pinch. Like this is what. What are we so serious about in this moment?
Yeah.
When. When love is the most and the only important factor. So. How beautiful, brother. Really enjoy your. I enjoy your presence. That's why I was so excited that we.
Yeah.
Get to share your words with our community. So.
Well, we were brought together for a reason. You know, it's just great to share on the show. And I know there are probably perspective and outlook and I feel we both have that same side, being a lawyer or programmer, basically the same things. Because especially when you're writing a contractor going through the law, there's a logical order to it. And I have a knack of writing contracts as well, so I know that side. I just went down instead of the law path, I went down the ones and zeros path.
Yes, the ones and zero's path. Oh, man, there's a. Gosh. Did you ever watch a show that was on hbo, it only lasted a season, called John from Cincinnati? Did you ever see that?
No, I missed that.
Yeah. It's an interesting thing on the ones and zeros topic.
The binary code, it's in everything.
It's pretty cool. I wanted to spend a couple of minutes before we wrap up just talking about youth and the work that you've been doing and. And the group support in that arena. Would you share a little bit about youth success?
Yeah. For the last 30 years, I'm the only volunteer in New York State who's been with Hugh o' Brien Youth Leadership since pretty much its inception. And, you know, when I started the first year, there was this young woman who was afraid she wasn't going to get into college. And I had just graduated because, you know, I was started that long ago and I thought, no, this is easy. You're going to get in. And she had tears in her eyes. I mean, she was deathly afraid that this wasn't going to happen for her. And at the end of this conference, this is my first year, she came up to me and said, this changed my life. And she was smiling and crying and I thought we just had fun over this weekend. It's just a lot of enthusiasm. And I've spent a lot of time thinking about that word enthusiasm, because that really sums up what Hugh over Brian Youth Leadership is. And, you know, originally enthusiasm was meant as inspiration or possession of divine presence. And then what that leads to me, you know, to be filled with enthusiasm. You know, my belief is you must also be Filled with love. And that's what it is. And this love happens during these, these three day seminars. And everybody is just given an opportunity to discover who they are. They're taken out of their cliques, they're taken out of all the. There's no media. I mean, we're really not getting. I don't even know what happens in the world for three days. That's how, you know, packed with information and activities happened during this weekend. So anyway, she came back the next year and she got a phone call, came back and she's crying and I thought her grandfather passed away or something. And she said, no, I've been accepted to college and there's more, it's on a full scholarship and it's to Harvard. And she said, it's because you were here for me. It's because this organization was here for me that I have this opportunity and I'm going to spend my time giving back. So she volunteered and continued to give back year after year to this organization. Organization. And I thought, you know, I have to stay involved if it's going to have this kind of impact. These kinds of ripples in the world. And they're all taught, you know, leadership through community service. What's more beautiful than that, than learning how to lead, to give back and to make a difference in the world and to stand up for what's right. So I threw myself into this. I've been involved 30 years. I have story after story after story like that one. And you know, there's just an amazing fireworks display that comes out every year with this. And I absolutely love volunteering with this group.
Yeah, the group. I'd love for people to just get the website right now if you could. It's h o b y.org hoby.org yes, hobieny.org what's the best way to find out more about it?
Yeah, for the organization, go to the national site because they're going to have connections to all the other volunteer groups. And this is all a grassroots thing throughout the entire world. It's in 38 countries, it's in every state in the union. So you can find volunteers if you want to have just bring positive change to your life. And people ask me, I just turned 52 and they think I'm in my 30s and they're wondering what is your secret? Volunteering with high school sophomores that are just full of this wonderful energy and I don't know, maybe it's affecting me.
Yeah, well, for the better.
Yes.
Hang around with some, some high school Sophomores. That what you said? Yeah, yeah, it's. What a great. So that organization is something people can find out more about. And I also want them to find out about your. The books and things that you've written. What's the latest book and where can people find out more information about you about the book? What's that?
Sure. Well, thanks for asking. The latest book is Soul Decoding A Life of Hope and Happiness. And if you go to soulcyphers.com there's links off to that. Or you can go to my main page. I have my career in calling. My calling site is guidetothesoul.com and the other site is spiraldesign.com is the marketing firm. You'll find me through any of those.
We'll put them in the show notes, so it'll be great. But yes, spiraldesign.com and. The Facebook page is something too, which I think people really would love because those inspirational daily messages are really, really cool as well. So on Facebook, what is that? What's that site?
Yeah, any of the social media. You can go to facebook.com guidetothesoul Instagram guidetothesoul. The only one that's not guide to with the word the in it is Twitter Guide to Soul. Apparently there was somebody was gonna start a soul food book and never did anything with that account. But if you go to Guide to the Soul on any of the social medias, you'll probably find me, YouTube, anything. They're all out there.
Beautiful. I would love to talk about in the last few minutes, rituals, practices, conscious habits that we've adopted and our audience, our community loves, loves to hear about that. In fact, we've got people that are watching on YouTube right now and some that are listening. So whether you're consuming awesome YouTube or you're listening, obviously you, you're going to get the benefit of, as I do new, being able to learn about other people's rituals because some of these things we can adopt. I adopted a brand new ritual starting in the beginning of the new year and I'm going strong with it, which I love. So would you share, share with us one ritual that's been pretty constant for you or something new even that you're.
Yeah, it's usually it's when I go to sleep, I actually say a prayer in my mind when I go to sleep and I just clear everything out that's negative from the day and just let things unfold. And I do sort of a micro meditation. I'm almost instantly connected based on what happened to me? I'm in an instant meditative state, so I can just close my eyes in a dark room, and I'm definitely linked. But I do this prayer, and when I wake up, I smile before I get out of the bed. And that's the first thing. And then I think it's something about what's gratitude for the day. So that sets the closure of your day and the beginning of the next one, because, hey, I'm here again, and I've got another day. And the one thing about days for me, no matter how dark it gets, the sun still has to shine. Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it's not there. So go out there. Understand that even the sun has to shine on dark days. And you know, it's got to. Got to get up and do it all over again the next day, no matter what the weather is going to be. So that's how life is. And take it on with that and carry that light. It's always inside when you have it.
Yeah, we definitely have an internal climate as well as the climate that's around us. So, Robert, what a blessing to have you with us. I really appreciate your prayers presence here today. Thank you for being on the show.
Well, thank you so much and, you know, really enjoy everybody listening in and definitely send me a message if anything that Adam and I talked about today touched your life. I love to hear, you know, from the people. So, you know, let me please pass those comments on to me too, if you receive them.
Way cool. Way cool. So remember, everybody, guide to the soul. As we wrap up this particular show, I want to share that ritual that you guys are probably familiar with, but if you've not heard it before, then great. You'll hear for the first time here and now. And if it's a reminder, well, I'll just say from my perspective, I'm pretty thick at times. I need reminders, and I don't mind getting reminders reminded. I don't mind being reminded of my reminders over and over again because they're important that we. That I speak for myself, that I go back to the basics on a regular basis. So we're gonna wrap up. If you've enjoyed this episode, as I hope you have, then I would love for you to go on itunes and give us. Leave us a review. Obviously, if you haven't subscribed yet, please go ahead and do that as well, and I'll give you a couple of resources, and then I want to leave you with that ritual. So, of course, our community on Facebook is really thriving. And it's thriving primarily because people are willing to be real and vulnerable, and that's what we love so much about it. So it's the StartMyPivot community on Facebook. You can get the shortcut link to that is pivotfb.com you go to pivotfb.com it'll take you right to the front door where you can join, you answer a couple of questions. We curate the community, which means that we are careful about who we say yes to. So if they're, you know, if you're willing to answer those questions and all that kind of thing, then it's perfect. And then you come on into the community and you're willing to give and receive support. It's not just the giving part. We're not exclusively looking for people that want to come in and serve and give, but we really want everybody to work on the, the other side of the coin. It's. There's a front and back to everything, as my dad always said. And so we know that one of the biggest issues for a lot of people is their receiving muscle. So if you're prepared to come in and both give and also to be a receiver of the love and the support and the resources of other people, then you're a perfect person to join us there@StartMyPivotCommunity. Also, if you are wondering about your own pivot and want to engage with us at the, the level of that inquiry, we've got six questions, six really powerful questions to kick start the pivot that may be upon you or the one that you're contemplating for this year. You can go to startmypivot.com and get access to that free guide, a Kickstart guide. And from there you can also get links into the Facebook group, to the podcast, etc. And then you can join us for some deeper inquiry, which is just joy for us as well. So as we wrap up, I want to remind us all as we started this show with something that I think is really true. And it's my perspective, of course, so I can't prove it. I don't have to prove it. You get to choose for yourself what you believe. And what I believe is that we are one. We are connected in ways that, of course, we cannot fully appreciate or understand. But it's a faith, I suppose, and it's also something that's been confirmed to me in a multitude of ways when I'm paying attention and when I'm present. So we are One. And one of the ways that we get to connect is through this medium that we listen and we watch and we consume some of the same things together. And we're taking that knowledge and applying it in our own lives and modeling it for the world. So that's a beautiful way for us to connect. And in this moment, we get to connect just through our breath. There are people, something like nearly 8 billion or thereabouts, 8 billion people on the planet. And we are all, in this moment, breathing. We are breathing together, whether we know it or not. You're all breathing as one, and that is special. And there are people in this moment, right this second, who are taking their last breath. So that makes this breath, our breath, a blessing and something that we can be grateful for. So when you wake up tomorrow, and that is my prayer, it's my hope, it's my. It's my wish, it's my intention. And so since I get to have the magic wand, since I get the microphone, at least today, I'm going to wave that magic wand right now and we will all wake up tomorrow. That is, that is, that is the intention. And wake up our spirits, wake up our consciousness, wake up our bodies, of course. And in that waking moment, as you take that first precious breath of the day, if you remember something, please remember to sit, lie, be still for just a moment to do as Robert had suggested, that you put a smile on your face in that moment, gratitude for that breath, knowing how important it is, and then put your feet on the floor, stand up to greet the day and declare these words out loud. I love my life. I love my life. I love my life. Three simple steps to begin the day. Wake up, be grateful for a moment, even declare, I love my life. That's a ritual you can practice for the next 21 days. And then behind, I've had people all over the world who've left me little that that simple 21 day practice turned into a ritual that has lasted years and years and years, as it has for me. So wherever you are right now, have a beautiful rest of your day or your evening and we're sending you tons of love. Robert and I are sending you our love and we've enjoyed being with you today. Today and until next time, I will say ciao for now, everybody. Bye bye.
