A brief motivational talk by Adam Markel promoting the idea from the book Karmic Management: treat everyone you do business with as "karmic business partners" across four groups (employees, contractors/vendors, clients/customers, and the world). He recommends a daily practice of asking, for each partner, "what's the one thing I can do today" to help them be more successful, and reports using this philosophy at his company.

Hi, it's Adam Markell, and I want to share with you a secret. Would you like me to share a secret? Perfect. It's a business secret, actually, and it comes from a book that I read. It's an amazing book called Karmic Management, and I hope you'll go out and read it. But this is a little secret that I've learned and that I want to share with you, and that is that you think of all of the people that you do business with as your karmic business partners. So, meaning there are basically four areas that you can look at. Your employees, your contractors, the people that you work with that maybe you buy things from. Your vendors, those kinds of folks, the people who are your clients for your customers and the world at large. So again, there are your employees, your contractors, or your vendors, the people that you buy and sort of have that kind of relationship with. There are your clients and your customers. And of course, there is the world, the big, beautiful world that we all live in. And so here's the point. If you think of everybody in those four quadrants as your karmic business partners, and you start each and every day by asking yourself, what's the one thing that I can do today? The one thing, and could be a small thing, could be a big thing, but any one thing that I can do to make each of my karmic business partners more. More successful. One small thing. Watch how you can see the fruits. See really the results of those karmic seeds that you're planting. See how those seeds grow new fruits on your tree. I can tell you frankly, that at our company, at peak potentials training, this is a philosophy that we use every single day in dealing with everybody. And I can tell you personally that this is a philosophy that will change your business for the better. Have an amazing, amazing day.
