Short YouTube interview clip in which JP recounts opening a surf shop called Surfy Surfy three years earlier during the economic collapse. He credits support from his wife (Yvonne St. Pierre), his parents (who own a surfboard factory), and describes efforts to be a positive influence in his hometown, Leucadia. The clip is informal and framed by brief host prompts.
Cool.
So my name is JP and this is my Soji story. Three years ago, we opened this surf shop, Surfy Surfy. In the height of the economic collapse, and due to support from my wife, who had just given birth to our second son, and my mom and dad, who own a surfboard factory, we actually made it through a rough summer that had no sun, no warm water, and no one had any money. But we made it. And we're just trying to be a positive part of the community and keep improving Leucadia, which is our hometown. So we're stoked to be here.
So the shout out someone who gets it in your life is.
That would be my wife, Yvonne St. Pierre. She's an architect, does quick planning permitting at a reasonable price.
Beautiful. It would throw us some love, too. Awesome. Thanks so much, J.P. thanks.
