Because what they know is that when those drivers are on the track, if their tires are bald, they're dangerous. They're dangerous to themselves and they're dangerous to everybody else out there. They cannot win either on bald tires. If they're even in the lead in the last five laps of a 72 lap race and somebody else is on fresh tires, they're probably going to lose. And what's also amazing is that the rules require them to take these pit stops. If they don't take a pit stop, they're penalized at the end of the race for not doing so. It's important that we understand how it is that we pit stop in our lives, even for a few seconds in four specific places.
