A short monologue (YouTube) advising entrepreneurs and negotiators to avoid nickel-and-diming and greed in deals. The speaker emphasizes prioritizing long-term relationships and integrity over short-term gains, arguing that retrading or greed damages trust and future opportunities.
You know, never work with someone who's trying to milk every last penny out of a deal. My opinion on that is that if someone's trying to milk every last penny out of a deal or is nickel and diming you, it's because they believe that this is their only chance to make money and they can never do it again. I don't care. Like, I'm gonna make money no matter what. I'm gonna do more and more businesses. I would much rather have a great relationship so we can keep doing business over the long term rather than, like, have to be the winner on this one deal. I could have easily gone back and been like, hey, we need to raise the valuation. We've literally, you know, increased our revenues by 30%. Our margins have gone through the roof. Absolutely. I didn't want to deal with any of that. When a deal comes across that's fair and makes sense, do not get greedy, because you'll blow the whole damn thing up and you have no leverage. It's not like you have millions in the bank. I've done everything I said I was going to do, and I've lived a life the way I said I'm going to do it, and now the universe is giving me exactly what I asked for. If you retrade that and now you become a different person because of temptation, the universe is going to be like, go fuck yourself.
