Transcript excerpt of a conversation with Aydin Mirzaee about overthinking and the importance of starting projects quickly and being willing to pivot repeatedly. The speaker emphasizes that research can become paralysis and that real problems and solutions are discovered by doing and iterating.
And every time I find something, I find a reason not to do it, or I look it up and I'm like, this is a great idea. And then I find someone else is doing it. And he said, listen, your problem is you're doing too much research. You should stop researching.
You're overthinking, right?
You're overthinking.
Just get started. So what is the advice? Just get started, start solving something, and then pivot as much as needed until you finish it.
Yeah. Then I realized I'm like, Like thinking to myself, aiden, when you started the last company, you pivoted, like, six times.
That's true.
Federal government surveys to an enterprise survey software solution. Like, it's just. And. And by the way, there's three pivots before that we didn't talk about.
Yeah.
So you can't really predict. You kind of need to get started. And once you really try to solve a problem, then you're going to figure out, like, what the real problem is and what the real solution is. And so now I just go into things thinking that, well, I'm going to pivot. I'm always going to pivot.
