LinkedIn Power Moves: Connection & Growth

In this 2‑hour interactive workshop, Adrienne Barker, MAS, guides a group of promotional‑products professionals, suppliers, and distributors through a comprehensive LinkedIn growth system. She begins by demonstrating how to optimize a personal profile—custom button, headline, About section, experience entries, featured section, and company page—emphasizing SEO keywords, formatting for readability, and showcasing credentials (MAS, lifetime designations). She then shows how to protect privacy by hiding connections and adjusting visibility settings. The session moves to lead generation: identifying target markets (e.g., senior‑living associations), building lists, and running outreach campaigns using various LinkedIn automation tools (Octopus CRM, Compass, Sales Navigator, Linked Helper, Evabot, Scrabin, Commetron). Adrienne walks participants through creating and managing campaigns, crafting first‑ and follow‑up messages, and maintaining a human touch. She highlights best practices for connection limits, messaging cadence, and using free trials. The workshop also covers community building via LinkedIn groups, newsletters, and podcasts, recommending platforms such as Quoted.com, Clubhouse, Chatter Social, and the LinkedIn newsletter feature. Participants share experiences (Dejan from Organic Tea Star, Mike Larkin on Linked Helper, Andy on promotional therapy) and receive personalized profile tweaks. Adrienne ends with a free 30‑minute strategy offer, emphasizing personal outreach, consistent value delivery, and the importance of clear, personable communication.

No, I love it though. I'm going to go to the top of my— so I could show you what to do. I don't want to spend a lot of time on this because I'm happy to do your one-on-ones with you. And I really want to talk about where you're going for just— for suppliers. I want to show you how to find the distributors. For distributors, I want to show you how to find your end clients. Interrupt me. I have no problem with that. I like it a lot. And okay, so this is really— I want to make sure you guys are doing this. So see how quickly mine is. I am a believer. There's my phone number. You have me. This is what I want. See that I have my— right, right here I have my link to my site. That's important because we want to make it easy. The whole goal is that people can find you. So you're going to have a little pencil here and you're going to click that pencil. By the way, I'm Adrienne Barker. My company is Professional Global Etiquette. I left the business because 10 years ago I really realized that our industry needed some corporate etiquette. So, so I started the business and then I involved— I'm a podcast producer. I have my own podcast. If you'd love to come on the show and talk about your business, I'm happy with that. And then I also, I have clients and I do the LinkedIn and this is where I'm really excelling. I do huge amount. It's a 6 business figure just helping people. I don't just do like the, you know, the, like what I'm going to show you now. I show them the strategy behind it. So go into this little pencil right here that you have. Click this, and then what I want you to do is scroll all the way down and see where it says Edit Custom Button. This is where you can put in your link or your premium custom button, uh, if you want them to request services. So very, very easy to do this. And then that way, Stacy, and I think Wendy, I don't— I didn't see that you have it. It'll be right there so people can see that. So that's really important. Uh, your headline is important, and we will discuss that too. I think that I wanna make sure this is where you put in your headline and make sure that it makes sense. And I'm gonna show you why that is so important too. Okay, so that is one little thing. Now we were talking, I was saying to Wendy a little bit about your about. Also format it. My son was very nice and he said, mom, sorry to say this, but a lot of you that are a little older, you guys don't know how to format. You guys, he's like, you gotta format for easy reading. So I took it with a dose of, you know, chocolate and said, okay, he's right. So, you know, and I revisit this often, putting in SEO words. It's amazing. If I enjoy, which I would love if I worked at Waffle House like 20 years ago and I put it in my LinkedIn, whether I put it in my about or in my right here, right here, my experiences, you know what? I, if someone could find me, if they're like, I want to talk to someone who worked at Waffle House 20 years ago, I would come up, which is so crazy. All right, so let's go and we're going to look right now and see. Hold on for one second. I want to show Stacy and any of you— I want to make sure that you've linked yourself correctly. And so people will be going on. I want to just show you how I did it. And I don't know if I had— oh, I don't. Oh yeah, right here. See how I linked the Halo right here? So let me show you how to do that. I had a little 3-year gig with Halo, which was absolutely lovely. Okay, so now— whoops, sorry guys, I'm moving this quickly. Okay, ready? We're going to go to your experience and then you're going to— so I want to make sure you see this. So you're going to go to your experience and there's going to be a pencil. So bear with me for a second. So we're going to go to this pencil. And then when you're at the pencil, you're going to pencil it again. Put as much information about what you do. Okay. And then you're going to link it right here. So if I was going to, if this was Halo, I literally would type in Halo and then I would click it right here. And that's how, and then that will show up on the upper right side under your banner. So if you've worked with any company that's been important to you, That's exactly what you do. If you do not have a company page, I'm gonna just show you really quickly how to get it set up and then save it. So this way, 'cause we want people to look at your LinkedIn and know right away, hey, they really know branding. Look at how much information I have. You can have, I think it's like over 2,500 words. So put the information in, any articles, any interviews you've had, any of your, like, lifetime designation, which I'm 62 and I finally got my MAS lifetime. I never have to take another class again. Happy about that. So, you know, I'm showing that off, right? The letter for lifetime. So here was my designation, 2010. So for those of you with your TAS, CAS, BASI, MAS, whatever it may be, show it off. So what I'm trying to say to you is show off as much as you can get out there. You're an expert at what you do. So that is really important to do that so that when we go in and look, and I want you to set up the 30-minute— I'm going to give everyone a free 30-minute— I'm going to— I'm checking. I'm, I'm looking at you. I'm going to see why— did you do what I said to do? So see right here, Stacy, when you do that, Halo will pop up right here. Right here you've got your, your website right away, which was a cute name. I think it says Hello Stacy, maybe. and then put all your information. Don't be shy, put it all in here, fill it all out. Also, Stacy, do you have your— are you doing, um, the featured section? I just have to go back and check Stacy's. Okay, I, I don't know. I think I wanna just make sure you are. And then we're gonna do Wendy next. If you want a quick look at your, um, at your Yes. See how nice this looks? So, so you've changed. I love this. So here's your featured section. So make sure, and also, by the way, if you, if you didn't want your posts to come up and you want videos and now they're long form, kind of like our TikTok reels and all of that. So consider when you're doing videos, you're gonna do it the long way. So it's horizontal. Now, this is fantastic. Look, a lot of information. You want all of that. So when people are searching for you, Um, love that you're a board member. People may want to know what commitment that is because that's a big deal. So beautiful. And of course, it's okay to endorse. I try to endorse people and I'll go in and endorse them because I am all about helping businesses grow. And I'm going to share this with you because I was thinking about this last week. I get as much pleasure doing free than, than paid. Like, it doesn't matter if you're paying me or I'm giving it to you for free. I still just love, love, love helping you achieve a good LinkedIn. So we're going to just get to Wendy next. And then just, Mike, let me know if you would like us to look at yours. I have known Wendy for, oh, for years. Sorry, Wendy, for at least over 10 years. No, I moved into Celebration 2006. I think I met Wendy around 2007, '08. At that time, I was working for the family business, but I am a believer that we all could work together, that there's a reason why Walgreens and CVS is across the street from each other. And so I have made a commitment to just share, share, share. So I've always enjoyed Wendy in every meeting I've gone to, but we don't have enough. So Wendy, at the bare minimum, let's put who you are. Okay, so business owner, marketing and promotions, Rotarian, which is amazing, leadership and community advocate. I, I, you know, a lot of times it could be something like, you know, uh, attention marketing directors. And then in essence, you're going to look at their pain point compared to, um, what you're going to do for them. And at the minimum, minimum, you would say business owner at Signature Promotions for your branded merchandise or logo merchandise. I want to show you why that's important. But right now, if I go like this, I know where it's going to take me to to, to really nowhere because we've got to connect it. Do you have a company page for Signature Promotions, Wendy? Oh, maybe. Yeah, I have a website. Oh, okay. Do you have a company page on LinkedIn? No. Okay, so very, very easy. So what I want you to do is just, you're gonna go right here and see where on the bottom it says Create a company page. So let me show you again. This will take you no time at all. Do it, Wendy, do it. Call me if you have any problems. Take my number down, guys. 386-631-4577. Add your organization's name, your LinkedIn address, you know, begin it, do all of this. It won't take you any more than a few minutes. And then you can also link it when you go to your experience. You are going to type in your company name and it will pull it up. So that's really important. So we are going to go back to your home. By the way, don't let me forget to talk to you about groups, because joining groups will be fantastic, uh, for suppliers and for distributors, uh, the ones that you are targeting. So here's Wendy. Wendy— there's a lot of Wendys out there. So look what Wendy did.
I—
can you see the URL? She, if you want to have like your own URL on the homepage, you could do it. So Wendy, we, I saw immediately there was like 20 different Wendy Farrells. Wendy was smart, she put Signature Promotions here so she pops out. And Wendy, you should probably have this on all your signatures and everywhere so people can find you 'cause you still have to tell them Wendy Farrell, Farrell Signature Promotions. Then you've got this, which is good. Let's add more. You've got 2,500 characters. Let's add it in there. You're gonna add, like I said, you're gonna take that little pencil here. You're gonna go down and you're gonna add your website. Now, this is why, Wendy, let's hide your connections because you wouldn't want me to use the program that I have, which I'm gonna be showing you. Here it is called Compass, and you wouldn't want me to go like this. I'm gonna do 5. I'm gonna connect 5. Look at this. So Michael, Norma, Mary Rose, Iris, and Joel. And is it not crazy that I could literally send them right here the information? Like, I could like reach out and I could get them, and you don't want that. Look, here they are. Let me go recent. Joel, Iris, Mary, Norman, right? So just make sure that— lock them down. A lot of people say no, but once I show you this, I hope you realize why you want to lock them down. Because how do you do that? Okay, so, so how to lock it down? I'm definitely going to show you that, my friend. Okay, so how we lock them down— by the way, if you ever get into this, it's a great way to like see people, find out. So there's a lot with the— if whether you have Sales Navigator or not, there's a lot you could do. So how do we lock this down for you? You're going to go right here to Settings and Privacy, and then you're going to go to— I think it's Visibility right here. Who can see your connections? Turn it off. Okay, just turn it off. You know what? Because more people are using these lead automations, the one that I'm going to show you has a very strong human touch. I have tried, I've tried many of them. I don't like where it's running automatically and I don't have any say. And like, I don't, I just get really funny about that. To me, I want to know exactly. Plus, you know, LinkedIn can have the wrong person. You could be retired, you could have worked at, you know, and let's just say you're looking at distilleries, you could have owned a distillery and now you actually own a Taco Bell and you're not interested in distillery products. So that's one way to knock it, lock it out so that you See, you'll always see it on your own, by the way. So let me just go back to Wendy and just see if we have any more advice, because I think giving a little advice like this helps everyone. By the way, love Wendy's picture. That's great. She looks the same. She didn't get older, which is crazy. Alright. So Wendy, once you do the experience and you click, click it, now this will have the logo. This will look great. And that looks good. You could add a little bit more too, because I know you do so much more than this. So, and, you know, also target the market. So we're going to be talking about that. So I want everyone to think about who is your target market. Okay. Who else would like me to look at your LinkedIn? Anyone? No. Okay. That's not a problem. If you do, just, just let me know. You can, you can dissect mine. Oh, who's that? Who just said that? Andy. And he said, I can— I said, I mean, I'm not gonna pull it apart like, uh, like frog legs. Well, maybe I will. I do like frog legs, which you can find at any alligator airboat ride. Oh yeah, we have those all over Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania in the house, I love it! Please put your information in too, so in the chat, so that we can all recognize each other when we go. So here's Andy with Geiger. I— Andy, yes, I spread— like, your face just represents kindness. So thank you. Are you sure? Are you selling kindness? Do I brand? Like, see how confusing it is? And then helping business grow through promotional therapy. The problem with the terminology of promotional products, and I'm so mad about it, is those Instagrammers and those TikTokers and those Reelers, they kind of— they call themselves promotional products when they're getting a promo. So when they're showing a cute little whatever it is napkin that they're, they're, you know, bought and they're reselling, that could be a promotional product. So that's why when you see a lot of us leaning toward branded merch, creative merch, logo merch. So this is not telling me enough. So I would do the same thing. I would ask Iger if they could create a banner This way you at least have an option of one. They should create like 3 or 4 so that all of— and by the way, please give my name. I will do, like, you know, free workshops for like Geiger, Halo, whatever you need. But I think they should do that immediately because for some reason a lot of, a lot of distributors and suppliers are forgetting the importance of LinkedIn. LinkedIn right now is very, very important. Yes, LinkedIn is even charging. You really can't do much unless you buy a premium. But you'll see when I show you at the end, you're gonna be like, okay, now it makes all sense to me. So I'll stop you for one sec. So my philosophy behind my business, my day-to-day work, and, um, and my, the way I've set up my LinkedIn is I'm promoting a good message. I'm promoting myself. I'm secondarily promoting Geiger. Geiger. Nobody knows Geiger. Not if I take 1,000 prospects, one of them has heard of Geiger, so it doesn't mean anything to them. Okay, so you can still do that. You still have Geiger, but then I would have, you know, spread like maybe, uh, promotional products or logo merch or, uh, mugs and products that have the kindness on it with your logo on it. Like, just think, think outside the box. And definitely, I— and Actually, I'm going to show you now right away. Let's go. Oh, Andy, thank you. I'm going to accept it right here. Actually, give me 2 minutes. I'm going to show you why. So put that all here. Your about can be stronger with, again, because you have the wording. So, you know, and don't be afraid to use ChatGPT. It's amazing and it does work. You know, massage it so it's got your voice to it. But let people know so that if I'm coming here, I'm not still 100% sure I would even know what you're doing, tired of the same old products. Like, are you selling, you know, melaleuca? Like, I really don't know. And then I love your spread kindness. So you could, you know, I'm not getting your message. Like, for me, I'm not getting the message. Promotional therapist at the largest privately held global promotional products company. That's awesome that you have that. I would again, Andy, you and I could sit down together. Let's just meet so we could kind of give you some ideas. I know what you're saying, but your brand has to have a story. And your story is not as clear. And this is why, Andy, I'm going to show you why. So let's just say Julie here— I get to meet Julie, I'm very excited, she is as cute as she looks. Um, so Julie, let me go here. Come on, come on, Zoom. Okay, so let's just take this post right here. Okay, now Julie has— I'm actually speaking at CreativeCon in Chicago about LinkedIn. So here's Julie, and a lot of people do this, a huge amount of people. They want to see who else is here. So look, okay, you know who I am. DC Dornick, we know he's a health and lifestyle success coach. Glenn Rudin is a message master, very clear how he helps business owners sell more products and services. By creating a clear message. I think Len years ago was in promotional products too, if you recognize the name. Jolenta, very clear, social media consultant. People look at this every time you make a comment. People, every time you just appear, you make a post, they're looking at like what you're saying. They may not click in unless it resonates with them. So you have to think yourself, would it resonate with you to think in there? So you can see This is nice. Stanford Innovative Medicine Accelerator Healthcare. I have no idea where she works. I really don't. None of this makes sense to me, um, unless maybe I'm in the medical field. So I would recommend she probably do something. Sean Finnegan, great, you know, girl dad. That's great. But is that helping him get business? So we're going to talk about LinkedIn as a place where we want you to get business. So the why is because other people are going to see. So see, I copied and then just just, this is what people see. This is it. When you make a post, they see the first 3 lines. So you want to make sure you're clear with that. So Andy, you got some work to do, but I can, I'm going to work with you. Okay. Thank you. Let's, let's talk about the business aspect of this, why I really want to get on the phone. So let's just say that I loved, I loved— and I'll share with you so that you don't have to give, you know, your— who you, who you work with. But I love senior— I, I found selling to, uh, seniors, senior living, like assisted living, nursing homes, that market right there was big to me. I loved it. It was all the same products, easy enough to contact the 4 or 5 suppliers, get them on board, um, find something from Blue generation, right, Susan? Do I have it right? Pretty sure. Find the products that you like and this is how you're going to sell to them. So you're going to search for who they are, right? So first of all, let's just say that Sandy, who is Nashville, is looking at— and you should see my— do you see my— I'm typing Nashville. Okay, so let's just say Nancy's like, I love that. I love senior care and I really believe in them. Okay, so whatever that looks like, find the association. Just get connected with the association. A lot of people don't do that. They go from the bottom up. I say go for the top up. Wendy, when I was in Florida, I was Florida Assisted Living Association, and I'll tell you what I did, Wendy. I took Marty from Ariel, and I thought Marty's line was perfect, right? So was I being a little lazy? I'm gonna be honest with you. I kind of was, right? It's a lot to be So it's a lot of money and expense to, you know, promote ourselves at a trade show. Suppliers, you just did it at PPAI and ASI. Distributors, you're doing it all these local events. So I went to the Florida Assisted Living Association. I joined. I asked Marty to— would he bring all the products? And all I would sell would be Ariel products. But I left room for apparel because he understood he was— they weren't doing apparel at the time, and I don't think they still are. So with that said, Marty brought all the stuff. Marty did everything. And all I had to do was do a reach-out campaign to say, hey, I'm going to be at your show and love to have you come visit. So let me get rid of some of this. So it goes for anything— distillery, dentist, chiropractors. Find the association. And please shout out any other ideas that you may have. So now we're going to look. So I'm going to say senior living. Um, because I'm not gonna— I'm not looking for, say, for companies, and I'm gonna say marketing director. Now, just like anything, you're gonna test the waters. Now, and by the way, Octopus CRM, let me just show you it. They have no referral, so I don't— I, that— I don't want a referral. I don't want anything like that. I just want you to see what it looks like. Try the free trial. You gives you like 6 or 7 days and see what you think. So I'm just showing you because I have it. Now I've got senior living and marketing director, but I don't— I just want Florida. I, I don't want to be around the whole world, though, as you know, we could, we could run a campaign around the world. So now I'm going to say Florida, and then I'm going to move this right here, and I'm going to say show results. Okay, only 4,600. We could sell to some of them. All right, we're gonna take away the second. I mean, we're gonna take away the first. So now let's just read, let's just do the second connections just really quickly with LinkedIn. If you have under 500, you're still in the lobby. 500 to 1,000, you're in the, you're in the hall. You're like in the outside hall. You can smell the chocolate fountain and the lobsters. You can smell all the deliciousness. You can hear the noise. Maybe they have a few things out there for you, but you really wanna try to get to 1,000. That way you get to enjoy everything, you get to meet everyone. Every connection will lead you to another connection. So if you have Sales Navigator and need help on that, also reach out to me. Now we've got 1,900 results. So with that said, with Octopus, and I'm going to actually delete all of this now 'cause I can get it back anytime I want. Again, I would put my message in here, so whatever it's gonna say, Attention, assisted living associations, attended marketing directors, attention name. I could actually just say first name. Hi, I am, you know, looking to connect with the facility, or I'm going to be attending the show. For all of you that love this idea, but maybe you want to just start growing and you belong to the chamber. So Wendy, if you're still active with the Kissimmee Chamber, you could just do a campaign and just say, hey, we're chamber members together, and I just realized we're not connected on LinkedIn. So now we're going to go here. I got my message and now I'm going to go here with Octopus. You can put up to 99, but again, just to show you so we don't— it really doesn't take long. I also recommend about 23 messages a day. Try not to do any more because LinkedIn will say, oh, you met your weekly limit. If you don't, this is for premium. If you don't have premium, you'll get away. Just get a feeling for it at first and then I'll say to you, oops, Come on, you need to spend a little more money. It's worth it. But what I do wanna say, and DM came in, so I'm gonna take a break in a second. What I do wanna say regarding this is that, welcome DM, is that for, 'cause I'm gonna stop this right now, so hold on. See if it came in. Okay, for some reason, 0 out of 10. Let's do it again. DM, let me just go through and just show this really quickly. Connect. I do this for Dion, doing a reach out campaign to distributors. So Dion is a preferred vendor for Halo. So we are right now, there's like 7,500. So we're right now doing a campaign just introducing Dion coming from him. So I let that secret out, Dion. Here you'd have your message and here they are. But now instead of saying run them all, I can look, are they all really good? Do they all make sense? So I am doing this right now with 10 other clients going through, and I take care of their LinkedIn for them. Then if there's a second message, we funnel the second message. Mine was, I know you showed interest. Yours may be a different, uh, second message. It'll tell you if it's duplicate. You could skip people's users. So, uh, there's a company called Splash Brands who, if you haven't looked at them, look at them, their company tool, their store. I do 3 of them. So I do Alyssa, I do Kayla and Mike for Splash Brands. For the last 3 years I've been doing their LinkedIn. So because they are getting results. So let me take a break right now. And I am so excited to introduce you. And I think we all should really think because I couldn't do this without the support of Organic Tea Star. So Dion, I'm going to make you the presenter. Let me just put my things together here. I want you to meet Dion. He's such a nice guy. So here he is. And then Dejan, let me, let me make sure. Hold on for a second. And I'm going to make you the host. Don't leave until you give it back to me too. Okay. There you go. Everyone meet Dejan.
Hello everyone. I'm Dejan. I'm a founder of Organic Tea Star and our mission is to make the world better because we, let's say we are God certified. Uh, the Global Organic Textile Standard, and we have, uh, 100% organic apparel, cotton made from organic field, and everything was made fair. And also we have sustainable-made products, and our mission is to make the world and the health better for everyone. Uh, the company is committed to sustainable, and we're doing so many things to protect the world and to protect the planet and the, the life that we live, because the organic products are more important for your health, for your skin, for, for you. Is, uh, this is the main thing because in the end of the day, when one organic, uh, t-shirt ends on the landfill, it's disposable. And also we're using, uh, inks that it's, um, not harming the water, not harming your skin, and it's very I mean, it's very positive for everyone. And I'm doing this for, I don't know how many years. I mean, let's say over the 15. And I would like to bring my knowledge from Europe to the States to educate the people about what it's, why it's important to have sustainable products, why you have important to have organic products and how to use them because they're more long-lasting than usual product that you have. Also, the, the cycle of product is more longer because we can use the yarn, we can use the recycle aluminum, we can use the polyester, and we can give them a second life. This is very important for us as the people and for everyone that is on the planet. I mean, it's short, but it's important. Organic products are very healthy. And I'm proud that I have a chance to present these products to all of you and to share what— how important it can be.
So, Dia, can I tell the story? So I said this— thank you so much, Dia. I have to share the story. So I, I happened to take two shirts in May to Mexico, uh, just because the colors were nice. I thought, let my husband nice finally in a t-shirt. So the first day his skin is getting mottled from the sun, and I'm like, oh my gosh, something's going on here. I go and I happen to have his t-shirt. He was wearing his organic teal t-shirt, and I'm like, put your t-shirt on. So he puts it on, he goes in the ocean, he goes in the pool, goes back to the ocean again, um, and he's in the sun, and we're eating. And the next morning he wakes up, and I'm like, don't— you know, put a t-shirt on. And he puts back on the same shirt, and I'm like, the Did you wash— like, I was so confused. It looked brand new. I'm like, so I wrote to Dan, I'm like, how does that organic t-shirt— like, it is crazy that it never looked like— like, it just— I don't know, it was amazing to me. And you guys know, so how many years in the industry, and my— and I know I've like tried on everything. Organic Teestar sweatshirt is my favorite. It keeps you cool in the summer and warm in the winter. It's crazy. It's nice. I like the full zip-up. And, Dion, the iconic line. So in Las Vegas, we had some clothes and they were amazing. And they have the tag where actually you could, like, literally pull it up and you could see where this has been, like, from farm to table, kind of similar idea. But, and Dion was like, show the tag. And I'm like, but the quality in itself, everyone who touched it stitching. Like, you, you, we all know what we're looking for, right? It's that quality stitching, it's a quality zipper, it's a quality branding, how this, how it's put together. So, um, we have another like 2 minutes, Deon, to talk about Iconic and maybe the other hard good line.
Yeah, I can talk about Iconic and all the other stories that stay behind the, the t-shirt. But for example, that you mentioned, the, this is, uh, we call the digital pattern. Passport. Uh, when you scan the, the every product, it's coming with this digital product, and you can see exactly from where they come, is Adrian mentioned, the yarn, the water, what is water safe, energy, carbon footprint, everything. You can trace from, we call, from the seed to the seam. And also we have the Tiger collect— Tiger line This is another story about the tiger habitat, a project with WWF. 5 years was paid for 14,000 farmers to not plant anything on the field. And this is how they clean the soil from chemical pesticide. And this is the way that allowed the tiger to— habitats of the tigers standing behind the field. To, um, develop. And biodiversity bring again the all different animals. And, uh, in— I mean, tigers and, uh, the reservoir of the tigers is, um, uh, restore. Yeah, this is— and also we made the tags of this Tiger Line with— not from paper, we made it from waste cotton. It's very important because it's, uh, we're using the— this is the, the way that we're using the cotton. And also the water, uh, when we're using the water in the factory for producing the, the tea, because the tea is, um, uh, the tea is, uh, real organic, the water is clean. You can almost drink the water. And because we don't use any pesticides on the field for the cotton, we're using just water and mixed with sugar. We sprayed the cotton flower and this is how they make the ant eating the insect and cleaning the cotton.
Awesome. So thank you so much, Dion. I really appreciate it. Thank you everyone for taking a few minutes to let Dion share his information and we are going to go back, Dion. To— and actually to LinkedIn. Okay, so let me go here. Oh, okay, so we were talking about the senior living. Okay, and see how easy this is? So with Octopus, again, you could try it. You're going to just— oh, this— sorry, zoomy zoom zoom is gonna be so difficult. Okay, so you're gonna add them in, you're gonna find them, you're gonna send it to the CRM, and you're gonna run the campaign. Then what you're going to do is, you know, have a second message. And I'm really serious when I say this because I have done this for distributors and it works. The only time it doesn't work is if you don't do anything with the leads they've connected with you. Okay, now what? You know, so now you have to say— it's like, to me, the beginning of the year is the greatest time to say, hey, you know, let's meet. I'd love to look at your promo closet. I used to tease people because you know how our clients would have a promo closet You'd go in, you could see everything that they have, however it feels comfortable for you to— so you're not just selling. Maybe you have a flyer you want to share with them. Maybe there's more information. Maybe you want to get their, uh, street address so that you could send them something. So whatever that looks like, don't forget. So what you can do is once you're in the CRM and you've got them in the CRM program, now you could send the message. And then the same thing, you're going to put their information. You can either have a funneled Exactly. Or I like to double check because I just want to make sure I'm pretty much, you know, catching the right people because sometimes, you know, whatever it may be, you want to be intentional with this. Don't listen to any campaigns that tell you I could get you send out 100. No, you can't. You could do maybe 100 to 150 a week with premium. You cannot just like send them all out. So if there is an automation program, just let me know what you like. Just share it with me because I can tell you if it's good or not. I found Octopus is the easiest. Yes, you can visit them if you want, or you can endorse if you want. I, you know, I don't do that unless I'm really in there. Again, the billing. So right now I'm paying $14.99 a month, and I could change the plan if I really have something that I need to go from Connect to the Message and I want to have a little bit more power to do it. They also have a dripify campaign, which is all great, but I think a lot of times I'm just showing you what's easier. So anyone, uh, right here, if you, if you have Sales Navigator, amazing. If you don't, you could still do all of this, so it won't be a problem at all. Um, let's just see out of curiosity how many firsts I have. So if you go like this, so this, and I get rid of that, I am connected to 153 assets in the senior living and, and the marketing, probably from the time when I was trying to sell them in the industry. So hopefully, does that help everyone? Okay. And then you have the— it's okay. Then you have the filters here with Sales Navigator. You have more. So there's so much more that you could do. So you can show all of that. But now let's just switch this up, okay? Because this is what I love to show. Okay, so let's just say that— do we have a supplier in the room? Oh, Susan. Susan. Okay, so Susan with Blue Generation. Susan's like, we are preferred vendors to Geiger. So how could I send a message to Geiger? So you're going to go to Geiger, you're going to go to their company, you're going to click here. Ready, Freddy? Okay. Fast, go. Okay, and then right here is your gold, 501 to 1,000 employees. You could do up to 999. Check this out. So if you want, same thing, right? I could go like this, I can connect. I'm going to say I want to connect with 20. I want to send a message that says, hey, let me help you with your with your LinkedIn. So give this a second to run. By the way, Octopus can be working in the background while you're doing other things. So if you forget or whatever, it doesn't even matter. At the end of the day, you'll close out and you'll see. Um, also put LinkedIn on your cell phone if you don't have the mobile. I absolutely would have the mobile this way you can answer because you're going to start seeing with the optimized LinkedIn profile and doing this campaign, you will see things are going to take effect. So look at this. Now I've got— these are them, right? So Peggy. And then this actually makes you realize how important it is to— national account expert with a proven track record. But Peggy is not telling us what she's actually doing. So, you know, look at other people's headline. Does it inspire you? Does it— if you are a client, what does that look like? Now, you probably don't want to send it out to key customer specialists. Maybe you do. Sometimes it's worth finding out, like, what people call. You know, I'm not sure if Geiger's the one that has a Century Champions, but each supplier, each distributor has their own name, right? I would send it to the president, maybe director of national service, maybe, maybe not, depends on where I am. Probably not to the chief revenue officer, definitely to Anna. And that message could be, hi, I am so-and-so with, um, with Blue— I am Susan with Blue Generation. We have our 2025 line of clothing is up right now and we'd love to show it to you. And then boom, you've got that information here and now you're running the campaign. It goes directly to their name. They won't even know that you are using a program. And when people say, oh, is it a program? I say, I don't know, because when you pinch me, I actually bleed. Like, I am a real person. You know what? Because at the end of the day, isn't this a lot of hands-on? It really is not so automated. It's just doing a few things for you. But that's what I would do. So I'm going to get rid of all this. At any point you can get rid of them, you can put new leads on. So I want to leave room for some Q&A and how else I can help you. So whoever would like to share, ask questions, please take the mic. Okay.
Okay, Adrienne.
Yes. Who's that? Kenny?
Mike, Mike Larkin.
Hi, Mike Larkin. It's nice to see you.
Yeah. Um, I'm looking at Linked Helper. Have you used that?
Uh, no, I have not.
Okay. I was just wondering about that.
Uh, um, auto mailing system, autoresponder, invitation sender. I just, uh, there's so many out there.
Oh yeah.
So, you know, I mean, try, it's not going to hurt you to try it. For a little bit. Like that will actually—
That was a— it looks like you're in Evy AI too, aren't you? It looked like I saw your saved profile. Are you working on that or not?
With who?
Evy AI?
No.
Save lists and what have you? Okay.
So if you want to save lists, I use Evabot. If I want to like get emails, what I found, I was using a company that's Scrabin. This kind of looks like Scrabin. I did not like it at all. I didn't— like, for me, I don't need them to go and visit or scan or any of that. I just want to get the message out and then the second message. And now it's easier to pick up the phone and say, hey, it's Mike. And you know what? We're connected on LinkedIn. And I thought maybe I could take a minute. So, you know, I, I'm very careful with like just— I like things simple and easy, Mike. So this to me has been the easiest one. But you can definitely get a free trial here too. So that's important. I will share with you what I do use, and don't hate on me on this one, but sometimes I just can't think of things like to say, and I'm like, oh, so I use this program and it goes like this.
We'll see. That's where you got your— every— yeah, I see the little— yeah, that's every—
oh, this is Commetron. This is Commetron.
Well, look at the Look at the side on, you know, here's what— that's Comitron. But you got the purple thing, the purple on the right. You got that.
Oh, yes. Oh, Nancy, a woman just gave that to me. I— yeah, I didn't love it. But you're right. You saw that. I am not loving that program either. I don't want to take a lot of time trying to do it. So if my client— if you were my client, you said, I absolutely need you to run on this campaign, which happened with Scranton. My client's like, you— I need you to do this. But then he got all the information was incorrect. The, uh, it took so— it took like that. I had to— I'm like, you really want my computer to run all night long when I could do it with Octopus for less money?
I don't know. Every AI doesn't send out messages. Everything is all— it's, it's the comments and things of that nature. And I can get my 20 top prospects and you got save profiles. Go up to save profile.
I don't know if I've saved any in here.
Well, if you did, it would show. You could hit an activity line and I can find out You haven't saved anything yet, but you can actually put in save profiles. I got my top 100 profiles in there, and then I can go over and I can see if I click on it once a week to see what the activity was for each of my top prospects. And then I go ahead and I comment on those prospects if there's any activity for that, and it's building a relationship. That's where Heavy AI has been big for me. I get all my business from LinkedIn now, every bit of it. I don't do any other prospecting. You know, I do, I bring people in and then I have my whole system set up and I picked up a good couple of tips from you. I appreciate that.
No, I absolutely love that you're doing that. I think that you're like taking it like one step. So, 'cause a lot of that, you know, you can find out your analytics and you can, with Sales Navigator, you could save your list and then you could actually go back to it. And add. So as I said, there's a lot of different programs like that for those that are just starting. Um, Mike is definitely way ahead, so I love that, Mike. I also— there's a lovely man named Ronald Cohen out of the New Jersey area. He used to— he's like the back of the day where you do 50 cold calls a day, and that's how you— but he's killing it on LinkedIn because he's taking the same idea, that same 50 cold calls a day, and using it on LinkedIn. And he is also just killing it with the business. I've had clients looking for distillery, clients cannabis. Now, you know, if you add like the cannabis, that usually goes very, very fast. Like, my goal too, Mike, is I'm a little different. I want to show everyone how to do it. And then if you don't have time, then hire me. I'm very fair. But if you have the time, I want you to do it yourself. Or if you want me to start it for you so you can actually see if it's working, like, you know, I'm not like one of those that's going to do a workshop and then hide the most important piece of it. But But also, you guys are all experts, so I want to give you a couple of other little things. Quoted.com. If you haven't heard of Quoted, please get on Quoted. It is free. Set up a profile for yourself because you are all experts in branding and whatever that looks like. So Quoted is great because if there's a— used to be like a Help a Reporter Out. Quoted is very similar so that if there's a reporter that wants to talk about the branding industry, you ever wonder like How are they featured in these magazines and how are they getting it? That's why. So if we do it, um, let's just say we do promotional products and let's just see what happens. Oh, here we go. We've got some people here that are doing it. So this is just get yourself listed as an expert. It really is going to be, it's going to be great for you. So I definitely suggest this if you're not familiar with Quoted. Um, Also, a lot of, you know, back in the day, I love talking about promo products, and I have distributors and suppliers come on my show a lot. So, oh, this is one of my clients, Peter. He has a great program. But for something like this, you know, you could find shows. So Peter has his own profile here. So here's his profile, and he has a program over at Princeton and Swarthmore. It's pretty amazing. This guy himself is amazing. But here Now I can easily find a show for him and then make the request and ask if I could be part of the show. So if you're looking to get outside of like the marketing, just like, okay, I need content, how do I get myself out there? Consider podcasts. Call me about it. Um, that's a service I offer, LinkedIn and getting booked on podcasts, or you could do it yourself, like whatever you want to do. I am happy to show you and let you, um, and have you understand how to do it. So Quoted Matchmaker, Pitch Podcast. There's a lot of different programs out there. And definitely let's just go groups really quickly. We just have a few more minutes. How many are you on, Mike, if you find groups are helping you?
They're— they are good. Build your own. Build your own group.
Good. Build your own group. Absolutely. If you have time and the energy and then absolutely come up with a great name. And send the invites out. So groups are important. You could find a group. Let's just say I was looking at senior living. I would go like that. I just keep it simple. There's many ways to drive the freeway here at LinkedIn. Go to groups and then take a look. You know, are they too big of a group, too small of a group? You know, can I join them? What does that look like? So here's just quickly, senior assisted living professionals. Why? Because if you create a newsletter or a post, you can also share it on a group. So groups are important. I would do that. LinkedIn does have a new program now, premium for your business page. So let's just take right here, my, my business. I, okay, so today is December 31st. If you have your company page, I want you to today, just do it today. It'll only take you a minute. Go to your company page because you only get a certain amount of these. So you're going to go to your company page, you're going to go to invite to follow. Okay. And then I get 250, right? So it refills February 1st. I don't want to waste it. So I am going to go in and you do have to click, click. I mean, I'm not retired. But you know, you do have to do this and that's one way to grow your company page. So just make sure you're doing that. You will see that LinkedIn is trying premium page for free for your company page to build it here. If I have, you know, when my podcast gets aired, I go live actually. So if you, you have to be willing to go live with me on LinkedIn and Facebook and YouTube. And then from there I have the, And from there I actually have the show. I don't know what happened here, but anyways, definitely, you know, share it. You could go like this and you can copy the link to post and then throw it in a group. All it's all about value, right, Mike? It's all about value. So if you're gonna sell, sell off your company page, give value off your personal page, and then share when it makes sense. Oh, one more tip. If you're using ChatGPT, And that is that with ChatGPT, you can actually go to like Hit or Susan or Dion and you could actually ask ChatGPT. I find it works really great with Hit though products is that you could ask ChatGPT to create a case study for you. You know, say I want, I'd like this cooler, but I wanna create a post. I want it to be for senior marketing directors at senior assisted living and it will create a post. It'll take the picture from it, but then it'll create a nice little post about it, how it was used, the ROI, all of that. So, uh, don't be afraid of, uh, ChatGPT or Gemini, not Grok, because I don't find it's as well. Go ahead.
I was gonna say, is that 4.0 Chat you're using?
Yeah, I do pay for the paid.
Yeah.
Yep. And I do project, and you can create your own GPTs to make your life easier. Um, I use Gemini. And then I massage it. So I'm always massaging it. So you could ask it for topics. I tend to not ask it for topics for myself. My clients, I do, but not for the topic. So for instance, just to give you kind of an idea, if you don't have a lot of connections, then, um, it could be a little harder. So right here, so right here is OK Capsule, great company. So OK Capsule has a lot of followers. But Hector, who works there, does it. So I created the— so actually his newsletter is through the company page and then he shares it. So here's his, um, here's a newsletter that I do. I do a newsletter once a week and then that goes and then he puts it in another area. So newsletters are a great way. He's got 203 subscribers. Watch your subscribers grow. It also goes into the LinkedIn emails. As in the focus email. And so you get that. So you get every time you press publish, an email is sent out and then it goes in the notifications too.
How do you get the notification? How do you get, how do you build your subscriber for newsletter?
Ooh, I love that. Okay, ready? And hi, I think Miranda, I know you're late, so, so I'll send you the recording. Okay, so with, you're gonna go to home. Write an article. Now you're gonna think like, what do you want it to be called, right? So you'll have some choices. Do I want it— if I wanted to be from Professional Global Etiquette, I could do that. These are some of the pages I manage. So for me, I created this Business Essential Skills, and then I type what I want, picture, all of that. And then when you hit next, it's gonna ask you for a social media post. So when I do my posts, I do my newsletter and then I create a small short social media post so it will come out so that you could see it. So the one I did, I am on Clubhouse. I don't know if you're familiar with Clubhouse. It's a social audio app. It was very hot when it first came out. It's back to being hot again. I'm on, I, every morning, Thursday mornings at 7:30, I speak with Breakfast with Champions, which is a great group. And I just want to share that with you because these groups, like, they don't have anyone with promo products. I don't sell promo products. So, you know, they're all looking for branding and marketing. So find your community too where you can share and kind of just like grow your business. So, um, oh my God, and I'm on a new app. I just have to show you this called Chatter Social. So I don't know if you're familiar with Grant Cardone, or this is Cindy Stumpo. Cindy is the number one female developer, uh, in the United States. Also, she comes on and gives, uh, gives a lot, a lot of tips. There's a video option too, so you can run whole variety of different things. So, uh, very, very excited. I have been on there as a private beta, now it's public beta, and then it's coming alive. And then just before we go, I just want to show you the newsletter. So hold on, come on.
Yeah, I'm looking for how you build your subscribers.
So it builds automatically. So the minute you set— you like, the minute you send it, it'll build. So let me get mine, I'll just show you really quickly. So you're going to do the newsletter It's then gonna go into the notifications. They'll see it in this box. They're gonna get it in their email, which is fantastic. And then let me just go here. So I had an idea the other day. Oh, by the way, here you could also show what you want first. If you're a video or you want your newsletters to show first, if I just want all my newsletters to show first, I'm going to save that. LinkedIn does seem to have a little glitch with the newsletter. So I was doing emotions in the workplace because I do— I am professional global etiquette. I do teach corporate etiquette. And so last week was joy. This week is sadness. I'll write my next article and then I talk about it on Thursday mornings. I have, I think, over 2,868 subscribers. And just the more you do the newsletters, Mike, the more you'll get subscribers. So just, just do it.
What's the difference between articles and newsletters? Where's that? Because what you showed us was an article.
So this is actually, well, that's where LinkedIn is all messed up. It's actually a newsletter, but an article would be if you're not like LinkedIn will tell you if you go to do, let's just say you only have 180 followers, they may not allow you to do a newsletter. So with Hector, I had to start to do an article for him and then I got an email saying, oh, you've been approved for a newsletter. So you go through the newsletter route, as I said, because there's another glitch that LinkedIn has when you go to put it in the featured. It's just like a post. So, you know, LinkedIn isn't perfect. You'll get some glitches. Sometimes you go to add artwork, you know, the banner, and it'll say it's corrupt when it's not. But these are all actually under the newsletter, Business Essential Skills Tips. Also, you wanna keep it here so that people can subscribe to it. So, you know, another nice way to do it is that you can have it where Um, like if I wasn't subscribed to my own, it would actually say subscribe, which I should probably unsubscribe that now. See, so now someone could— well, no, you get these subscribed. I just subscribed to my own. Anyways, I don't want to keep anyone over the time, so it's 1:01. Thank you so much. You're going to receive an email with the, um, the recording and also my calendar for a 30-minute free— it is free— want to go over strategy, you have questions. Where I can help you. If you want to show me something, I'm all open for that. I am open for what if you have something to sell, I'm all interested in that too. I have an open door policy. That was something that made me very successful when I had the office in Celebration, Florida. I told Gertie I want to meet everyone. Some of my best clients were those coming in the door trying to sell me. So just my last hint of the day, by the way, anytime you're sending any messages to anyone text messages, anything. Make sure you say hi, their name, and who you are, because I can't believe how many people won't do that still. And if you'd like me to speak to your group or organization free, I am happy to do that for you. So thank you so much and have a great— sorry, Merlin, you're a little late. Thank you all for your time and energy, and I really appreciate it. And I will see you at the next workshop. Maybe I'll talk about how to get on podcasts. Thank you. And I am closing it down. Okay, and we stop the recording.
