In this introductory video of a Tableau tutorial series, presenter Akansha Yadav explains what Tableau is, why it matters in the business intelligence (BI) space, and outlines the key components of the tool. She contrasts Tableau with Power BI as the two leading visualization platforms, then details Tableau’s five product offerings—Desktop, Online, Server, Reader, and Public—clarifying which are used for authoring dashboards versus publishing and sharing them. She highlights Tableau’s ability to connect to any database, its support for 24 chart types, and its core advantages of speed, a drag‑and‑drop, user‑friendly interface that enables creation of interactive, visually appealing dashboards. Akansha also cites Gartner’s ranking of Tableau as the #1 BI product, positioning the tool as a top‑choice for analysts and organizations. The video concludes with a call to subscribe for the rest of the series.

So let's see what exactly Tableau and what are the features of Tableau, what Tableau offers to us. So very first thing about Tableau is Tableau is a data visualization tool, which means that you can analyze the data, you can create reports, you can send it to your clients or colleagues. Second thing to note about that is that Tableau can give you an access to any database. So if you have the data in any database, in any database servers, then you can attach it to the Tableau and create visualizations. Another thing to note over here is that Tableau offers 5 types of products. One is the Tableau Desktop, second is the Tableau Online, third is the Tableau Server, then we have Tableau Reader, and then we have the Tableau Public. So you can use any one of them out of these 5. These 3, the one which I am saying, Tableau Server, Reader, and the public one, are used to share the reports that you are going to create, but other are used to create the dashboards. So if you talk about these 2, like the Tableau Desktop and the Online, you can use it to create reports, and others are for publishing your reports and sharing it with your clients. Another thing to note about Tableau is that Tableau supports 24 types of charts. You can create your visualization using those 24 charts only. And apart from that, if I talk about the advantages of Tableau is that it has a good speed and it is user-friendly interface. You just have to drag drop some things and you have to create— you can create beautiful and interactive dashboards as well. So if I talk about who gave this awesome tool to us is the Gartner, a company that analyzes BI tools and has ranked the Tableau as the number 1 product. So stay tuned for the next video. Bye-bye.
