It is a short morning-show Financial Fitness segment (Wake Up Today / KHON2) with multiple speakers: hosts who introduce and close the segment and Alan Akina, who delivers five practical tips to save on car insurance (get quotes from 3+ providers, ask for multi-car and bundle discounts, consider a higher deductible, and drive safely/use alarms).
Saving money is always reason to celebrate, especially when it's as easy to do as a cell phone call.
Alan Akina has more on that in this morning's Financial Fitness.
Good morning, gang. I have some tips for you today that might help you to save several hundred dollars on your car insurance. And best of all, it'll only take a couple hours of your time. Now, most of us probably have not shopped our car insurance around since we Bought the car. With the internet and the increased competition for our business, auto insurance is much more reasonable than ever before. Now here are 5 tips to help you get started. Tip number 1, get quotes from at least 3 different car insurance providers. Let them know up front that you're shopping around for the best deal. Number 2, ask for a multi-car discount. Most insurance companies offer this. Number 3, ask them for a quote and a discount if you bundle your homeowner's or your renter's insurance along with the car insurance. Number 4, bet with the insurance providers. These insurance companies hire some of the smartest actuaries in the world. They can figure out what the chances of you getting into an accident would be. Now take the highest possible deductible that you can to lower your payments. And number 5, Drive safe, folks. Avoid tickets and secure your car with an alarm system. These tips will be available online at khon2.com. For Wake Up Today, I'm Alan Akina. See you on Thursday.
