Good morning, gang. You know, it's actually kind of sad to see some very bad people that are taking advantage of others during a major crisis like this. Now, to help you to protect yourself from scams and identity theft, I'm going to walk you through how to put a freeze on your Equifax credit profile. Now, by activating the credit freeze, no one can open up a credit account under your Social Security number. So, the first thing to do is go to equifax.com. Then you're going to scroll down and click on Place or Manage a Freeze. Now click on the button Get Started with a Freeze. You will be asked to enter some personal information now to create an account. Now once your new account is set up, you can manage your freeze from there. Now for those of you that don't have access to the internet, you can call Equifax at 888-298-0045. You'll be asked to provide some personal information in order for them to set up your new credit or security freeze. Now, if you ever need to get a loan, ask your lender if they use Equifax. If they do, tell them you will place a temporary lift on your credit freeze for a few days to allow the lender to get to your credit.
