Thank you so much, Tammy. Well, the holiday shopping rush is near, but it's not all about shopping on the internet.
Alan Akina tells us why in this morning's Financial Fitness Report.
Good morning, gang. We all know about shopping on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but did you know there's a new shopping day that's sweeping the country? It's called Small Business Saturday. The 2nd annual Small Business Saturday is a day dedicated to supporting our local businesses that create jobs, boost the economy, and preserve our neighborhoods. It will take place this Saturday, November 26th, the day after Black Friday. Now, I would encourage you to save some of your money from the Black Friday budget and use it at your favorite island businesses. For example, you can go out to eat at our local restaurants, get some dessert from the small ice cream shops, and buy your fruits and veggies at the farmers market. I also know that you can find great deals on clothes and jewelry and other gifts that are locally made. Hawaii has some of the best and most creative small businesses and entrepreneurs in all of America. Let's show our support for them this and every weekend with our dollars. By doing so, we'll be directly helping our local economy, going green, and just flat out doing the right thing. Remember, Small Business Saturday is is this Saturday, November 26th. For Wake Up Today, I'm Alan Akina. Happy shopping.
