Good morning, gang. Have you heard of the Giving Pledge? Well, if not, it's a group that was founded in 2010 by Bill Gates and Warren Buffett, 2 of the wealthiest men on the planet. The Giving Pledge encourages the world's billionaires to give the majority of their wealth away to philanthropic causes. Now, to date, they have signed over 137 billionaires, including Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook, as its most recent member. Now, they are not required to give to any particular cause as long as they give 50% or more of their wealth away. Now, we may not have millions or billions to give away like these individuals, but we can give something. Maybe it's $100 or a case of saimin. Even if we don't have anything to give, we can always donate our time through service. Now, this time of year, there is a huge need for some Christmas cheer from many families that are less fortunate. On Saturday, I had the incredible opportunity to work with a group of caring people. We assembled over 150 bags of food, personal items, and goodies for distribution to the homeless in Kaka'ako. I can tell you that that feeling we had working together for this cause was priceless. Remember that part of being financially fit is giving. For Wake Up Today, I'm Alan Akina. See you on Wednesday. Wake up today.
