My name is Angela Dela Cruz. This is my husband Chris. From once we jumped on to 101, we jumped on in July of 2013, and we were able to pay off about $60,000 in debt, consumer debt, student loans, in about 9 months. So it was about 3 months shorter than what they projected for us to pay it off, which was Awesome for us. We jumped on 99 first, and then we went into 101 about a couple weeks later. We were just so excited because we saw numbers that we never saw or never knew that it would be there. And 101 has just been a blessing in disguise. I mean, if we didn't jump on when we jumped on, or if we didn't do what we did when we did it, then We wouldn't be where we are today. Things happened with my family. We lost our house, and we had minimal time to find another place or something big enough, and we didn't even think of, oh my goodness, like, how are we supposed to come up with all this money? And how, you know, but with 101, we were able to save for a down payment. We're able to qualify for something that we never thought that we'd qualify for because we are debt-free. Buying our house, we were able to purchase a large enough house because my parents and then the two of us. So we're looking for something smaller than this, but it was a good thing we got a big house because we now all live together. My parents and my sister, them all live with us. I mean, it's brought us Tremendous comfort because we have a place to call home. We, you know, we're more secure. We can— we know how to pay down our mortgage faster. We know how to, you know, use our money, and it's just that peace of mind knowing that we're gonna be okay and we don't have to worry about, oh, wait, we can't do this or we can't do that because we have our mortgage to pay, or we can't, you know, we can't We can't go here, we can't go there because we have to pay bills. You know, it's just that peace of mind and comfort that, you know, I mean, not everybody has that.
We don't worry about paying the bills too much because most of it's automatic, and the peace of mind also makes it easier to talk about finances. We don't bite each other's head off and argue about it either. A little more comfortable, actually a lot more comfortable.
Being able to share it with just family and friends and coworkers, They don't believe us. They think, you know, I mean, they're like, oh, it's too good to be true. And, you know, I mean, we thought the same thing. So, but just being able to talk about it and being able to share it with others is the biggest thing for me. Like, we became instructors because what it's done for the both of us. We've accomplished so much. And I'm saying that because we wouldn't be living in a 5-bedroom house, we wouldn't be living on the North Shore, We wouldn't be able to have, you know, be able to afford what we have. Paid off all of our cars. I mean, it's awesome.
