Short YouTube monologue by Alli Peck advising viewers to prioritize their personal career growth over company loyalty. Peck argues employees should position themselves so opportunities continually come to them and avoid being left scrambling if they lose a job.
I don't recommend being loyal to a company or a job. You need to take care of yourself first, because while you're being asked to give two weeks notice before you leave a job, your company doesn't have to give you any notice. Now, I'm not saying to screw your company over deliberately, but rather position yourself in a way where opportunities are constantly coming towards you. I don't ever want you to lose your job and feel like you have to beg for a new one or take the first one that's offered. Have you ever learned the hard way not to prioritize your company's well being over your own.
