Alli Peck says candidates should ask employers seven questions: what three words describe your culture, how does my manager lead, why is this role open, what does success look like at 30/60/90 days, what do you love and hate about working here, what will be hard, and do you have any doubts about me.
Don't listen to this person. Absolutely Ask seven questions. Here are the ones that I usually ask. Can you describe your company culture in three words? What's the management style of the person that I would be working for? Is this position open because somebody recently left or because your company is growing? How would you define success for this role? Within the first 30, 60, and 90 days? What's your favorite thing about working at this company? What's your least favorite thing about working for this company? What do you think I would struggle with the most in this role? Do you have any reservations about my qualifications? I could go on. Don't challenge me.
