The speaker offers practical, low-effort strategies to carve out personal time—examples include listening to podcasts during commutes, exercising on lunch breaks, using office showers, meal prepping, and spending short daily sessions on side projects—to build work–life balance proactively.

And tell you something that I didn't learn until pretty late in my career. You're in your first 9 to 5 job and you feel you have absolutely no room for anything you related. No time for friends, no time for hobbies, no free time to relax. You're working nights and weekends maybe, or maybe you have a long commute and you're like, how am I supposed to do this until I retire? You need to create work life balance for yourself. Nobody's going to do it for you, especially not your manager. So how do you do this? You can listen to a podcast that you're interested in during your commute. You can work out on your lunch hour. Maybe your office has showers that you can use. You can meal prep for yourself so that you don't have to cook and do dishes every day when you get home. Maybe you even want to spend 20 minutes a day starting something like a side hustle. That way you'll feel like you're actually carving out time for yourself for something that actually matters, that will help you with your future. Let me know if you are somebody who's in this boat right now.
