What the heck does networking even mean? I don't care if you work in a restaurant. I don't care if you work in an office. I don't care if you're the CEO of a business. Networking means meeting people in your field or in a different field of work as professionals. At the beginning of your work, business or career journey you can network with people just by meeting people at work. But as you advance through your work journey you can start meeting people outside of your industry. This is how you can create opportunities for yourself. Make sure if you are meeting strangers like maybe in an airport or at a restaurant, make yourself easily findable or give your business card. Although I think they're pretty much dead now. That's where social media comes in. So get out there and start meeting people. Introduce yourself. Ask questions. Be curious. Tell me about a time when you networked and had an opportunity come your way.
