I confronted a micromanager once. I'm not kidding. I straight up told him, hey, you're being kind of a micromanager. What's that about? Now, yes, I agree that that's a little aggressive for an approach, but this guy was a total straight shooter, didn't beat around the bush. So I was just matching his energy. He was actually surprised at my comment. He was like, I am. How so? And I had evidence. And I was like, you're doing this, this and this. Is there a reason? Is there something I can do differently that would make you think that I had everything under control? And he was so taken aback. He was like, yeah, let me think about that and let's come up with a system together. I don' to be a micromanager. And that was that. Do you have a micromanager? And would you ever try this.
