How to Turn Your Amazon Data Into a Strategic Asset | Scott Kennedy & Andrew Hamada

Andrew Hamada and Scott Kennedy discuss how to extract Amazon data and turn it into actionable business intelligence. They cover the planning decisions you need to make before extraction, then walk through options for converting raw data into insights that actually drive decisions and strategy.
Hi, I'm andrew hamada. I'm co founder and CEO of reason automation.
Hello. I am scott kennedy, senior director of e commerce, analytics and technology capabilities for franklin sports.
So what Scott and I created is a guide on how to make a good decision about extracting your Amazon data and incorporating it into your business processes. And then further, what are the other things you need to be thinking about in order to turn that data into an actual strategic asset as opposed to just numbers in your data warehouse? The final document has two sections to it broadly. One is how do you think about planning and making a good decision? And then the second half is what are all the options available to you now that you have a framework?
So when I think about the planning framework here, some of the big things that come to my mind is it's a multi phased approach. And that boils down in my mind to having to collect the data first of all and get it into some sort of system and have that normalized. After you collect it, you have to have somebody who can model it. So this would be the take it from the raw data state into something more usable. So who's the person that's actually going to say that you should make your raw data turn into this next level model finally, or I shouldn't say finally. At the third step, you then push into the reporting and visualization stage of the game. So this is where you're making decisions around matrices or pie charts or things like that. And then finally, the fourth part of this framework in my mind that is highlighted in this document is around the concept of like, how do you act on the data? So are you using, in my case, Power Automate to alert people of things that need to be acted upon? Is it just like a, like an alert inside of Power Bi itself, whatever that mechanism is to get to pull your user into the data and get them to do something economically beneficial for your company.
