Short video testimonials from members of the inaugural Noble Reach Scholars class describing how Noble Reach connected them to public service careers. Speakers explain career choices (opting for public sector over private-sector tracks like consulting or investment banking), personal backgrounds (e.g., reliance on public services growing up in the South Bronx), and the fulfillment and impact they derive from public service work.
I think Noble Reach does a great job of connecting technical and policy and history people of connecting public and private sectors.
Coming from a very far place from government. Hearing the mission and their stories inspired me and kind of opened a career path that I didn't realize was possible.
As I was looking at jobs and career, it was consulting, investment banking, which most of my peers go into. But I wanted to solve a problem that I felt like would really impact individuals and just regular people.
I was really inspired to make a change in terms of the impact my work has.
I grew up in the South Bronx. I relied on a lot of the public service programs and I want to be able to bring those programs to other people as well and make them more accessible. I could be working in the private sector and, and probably making more money, but I think that the impact and the fulfillment that you have in the public sector is much greater. And I still get to work with what I love. Public service allows me to work on something that is beyond myself and really feels like I'm making an impact in the world.
