If you want to take control of your career in life, shift from a victim to an Agency mindset Inspired by Viktor Frankl's message that we always have a choice, here are three practical tips that can help you make this transformative shift. Number one, reframe your narrative. Instead of focusing on problems, think about possibilities. When faced with an obstacle, ask yourself, what can I learn that will help me move forward? Second, take responsibility. Rather than blame an external environment or a person, think about one what is my role in this particular situation that is making this happen happen? Second, focus on a tiny action that you can take that will help you make progress. Don't worry about the biggest action, but the smallest one that moves you in the direction of your purpose. And number three is practice, gratitude and positivity. In those moments when we are suffering, our brain tends to over exaggerate the negative and we forget all the positives that are around us, all the things that can help us move forward. If you consciously notice falling yourself into a victim mindset and proactively take the shift to adopt an agency mindset, you will be able to truly choose and flourish at work and in life.
