For this week's tip on making happiness your competitive edge, I invite you to consider things that happen to us that cause us discomfort versus those that are deadly or dangerous. Now, we often react in the same way. Not wanting, suffering or things that make us uncomfortable and we stop doing them or we get worried about them. We take actions to avoid them. But we forget that often our biggest sources of growth have come when we've pushed ourselves from from our comfort zone and allowed ourselves to be uncomfortable. I was reflecting on this when a friend of mine shared that they're going on a long 80 mile ride and I was imagining how much discomfort they must face from that long ride from their saddle. And then she really beautifully explained and she said yes, it's uncomfortable, but it's not deadly. Deadly things take action. When we do things that are uncomfortable, we create spaces for growth, for joy. In this case a lot of companionship and friendship that she was experiencing with a large group of people who are doing this trip. So so discomfort versus deadly and take the right actions based on what is present right now.
