A short conversational clip (YouTube Short) featuring Ashish Kothari and Stephanie Harrison discussing the role of self-love and self-acceptance in enabling personal growth. They argue that internal self-support functions like external encouragement—loving oneself makes taking on new challenges easier.
There's so many people who will hear this and cringe, go like, oh, my God, what are you talking? Right? Like, I'm just going to call it out. We're like, what are you talking about? I love you. Like, hello, what is that? But if you don't love yourself, how can you expect others to love you?
It's also this recognition of, like, I always want people to recognize that when you think about the times that it's been easy for you to grow or to take on challenges or to do something that's different or new, what made it easier for you, it was probably having somebody who, who cared about you, who was cheering you on or was in your corner or supporting you or coaching you through it. So why would that be any different for yourself? Don't you think that loving yourself would make those things that you want to do much easier?
Yeah. And accepting ourselves for wherever we are and recognizing that we can still, from that place.
