Ashish Kothari asks people what brings them joy and finds most have never thought about it. A founder he knows schedules tennis lessons and plays noticeably worse when he skips them. The point: joy needs to be deliberate, not accidental.
Love it. You know, I love that. I think that's fantastic. I think most people forget about, most people forget about joy, right? In fact, funny I didn't ask you this question, but oftentimes my first time I'm talking to somebody, my first question to them is, what brings you joy? And most people are like, I've never thought about that. Or I don't know when was the last time I felt joyful. Or they default to like family, family, almost always being with my kids. Yeah. Serving my kids. Great. What else?
Yes.
Right? What else? And I think it's really important. And I think it's a very powerful point you say, which is schedule it. I was just with a group of founders yesterday and one of them has scheduled tennis lessons. And everybody notices if he hasn't had tennis, he's not at his best.
