Welcome to my podcast, Black Women Business. It's Tuli here for episode 13 on the second season. We're going strong, you guys. I'm so happy that you guys joined me today. And today we're talking about a very interesting topic. I can feel myself getting more and more relaxed. I'm not as nervous as I was. I'm really hoping my delivery will be consistent or even pitch at an even better level because I'm a bit more relaxed now. Guys, we're getting used to each other here. So my episode today is about running with the horses. Running with the horses means basically, I think I've used this word before. Crunch time, time to slam dunk. Moment to cross the finish line, moment to lift up your trophy. Basically, it's a win or lose mom. That's what we're going to be talking about today. And the headings that I will be covering this under is seasonal or prayer. Breakthrough, bottle of water. Push or pull. Resist the urge. Weak, strong, fragile, sensitive, rose thorn or finally, sink or swim. Okay, let's go. Here we go. The first thing that I really want to address about running with the horses, crunch time, win or lose time, is that it's a seasonal thing. You know, there's a season for being quiet when it comes to business, when it comes to life, love, friendships, you know, there's a season for summer, spring, winter, autumn. We take running with the horses as a season. Sometimes it's a season that will take a very, very long time to actually come. You know, it will take long. While you wait, await the season, you just keep on being consistent. Just keep on pushing, doing your thing, waking up in the morning, pitching your ideas, going on, getting up, dusting yourself, keeping on, you know, speaking to your network, reach out to your people, doing what you do every day, just being consistent. I know sometimes it feels like it's mundane or you are stuck or when will the breakthrough come? But it becomes very important to realize that this thing is seasonal. Obviously you won't stay in the mundane state forever. You won't stay in that state where things are boring, we wake up, go to work, go to meetings. It won't stay like that forever. There will come that defining moment. Yeah, that's the right word. The defining moment. That moment will come. And I suppose the mundane, the boring task, it's just something to get you ready, gather your, your, your energy, gather your, your strength, and also gather your thoughts so that when it's crunch time, when the defining moment comes, you are ready. You are ready to execute, implement. You've been thinking about this so long, you've been dreaming about it so long, you know exactly how to do it when things go wrong. You haven't dropped the ball, you still, you're still fumbling, trying to catch it before it reaches the floor. Because you know this is the defining moment. So I'm moving away from step number one, guys. Let's remember it's seasonal. It's a season. And then comes that time when you need to pray on it, meditate on it, give it all your expression, your affirmation, give it all that you can when it, it comes to speaking to God about it, you know, waiting for that breakthrough moment and getting yourself ready mentally for it. You don't know when it's gonna come. You don't know when it's gonna come. But it becomes very important to be ready for it. Like all the other things that we've been talking about, taking care of yourself, creating that winning mindset. Because now is going to be that moment, guys. Now is going to moment of push or pull. You can sense it, you can sense it that if this thing actually works right now, it's going to be a major breakthrough. My life is actually going to change depending on this moment. Opportunities, they come and go. There's another one here, there's another one there. If, when that opportunity meets preparedness, magical things can happen, guys. That's the moment that I'm talking about. That, that push or pull moment. The mundaneness, the times you've been dreaming, the times you've been seeing this thing now is the actual moment where it's actually happening. It's unbelievable. Sometimes you find yourself amongst those people, amongst that boardroom, amongst that decision, and you can see, yeah, now if I make a good decision here, this will be a major breakthrough. And then also coming to the next one, it was very interesting to find another analogy that was given about that breakthrough moment. This guy was talking about a bottle of water. Any brand that is very familiar that you see everywhere on the shops, this brand of water, when you buy it Say at the Spazza shop. When you buy it at the Spazza shop, it could easily cost you about 4 and 54 rent. Maybe even at the wholesaler you can get it for four. And you walk into a, a garage where you've been driving a long trip. That same bottle of water, same everything, it will cost you about 12 rand. Same day, Friday night you are going to a club. Same size bottle of water. How much is it? 55 rent. Same bottle of water. You buying it on the airplane. This water is about what, 60 guys. We are that bottle of water. We are that bottle of water. We need to be very, very careful which situations we place ourselves, which amongst which group of people we place ourselves. If you put yourself in the wholesaler with a whole lot of bottles, guys that look just like you speak, just you're not gonna be the differentiator. We're all going to be the same and we will all basically cost 4 rent. You know that, right? So it becomes imperative if you realize that around where you are in the present situation, that you are, it's all the same. We are all the same. You need to move out, get out. You need to get to a place whereby you are going to be unique. You are going to be somebody that is authentic. You know, I remember there was a time when we were submitting our CVS for in service training as, as students, as chemical engineering students. And we were all distributing to the same places. Obviously we were sitting together to type our CVs. Listen guys, the only difference between our CVs were our names. Everything is the same. We stay at the same residence, we study the same subject. Like tell me, are you going to be different in that situation? And all of us are studying chemical engineering, others, okay, fine, analytical, but it's still a bunch of us doing more or less the same thing, you know. And it, for me it was quite a surprise when I, I went to visit my grandmother even on weekends. And then you tell somebody asking you, just like, okay, so you're studying, you're staying at res. What are you studying? Chemical engineering. And they are just like, yo, wow. But I'm just like, there's a whole lot of us, There's a flipping lot of us. In fact some very brilliant minds within us, amongst us. So you know, this thing of trying to find a place whereby you will be appreciated for the value that you bring just because of who you are, simply who you are. And I think on that one I've done exceptionally well moving out of a different province where I felt like I was that bottle of water in a whole sale store. There's a sea of us doing the same, okay? Not doing the same thing. We look the same, we're asking for the same stuff. I mean it's so tedious for even somebody looking to award something to any of us because it's all that we all the same. So moving out to a different province, trying out a different business, doing things in a different way that you're going to be able to show to how, how, how much you can contribute to the economy, how much you can contribute to the business world. I mean that for me was really, really exciting. So guys, remember that bottle of water and where it is. And then another thing. During this time of running with the horses, during this defining moment, guys, it becomes very important to resist the urge to push too much. Sometimes you can feel you are about to crack a very big opportunity. I know about the anxiety, I know about the frustration. I know about thinking about it over and over. And you wish you can just speak to this one, control the situation, guys. I suffer from this a lot. And some of my customers will say, Tony, you've got no right to be talking about this because you really suffer from this. And resisting the urge to be a nag. Don't be a nag. Don't be a nag. Don't be phoning people at awkward hours of the morning asking them mundane things because you are feeling restless. You need to have some level of self control. I know this hurts and I know this is so. But you need to cool it. You need to cool it. You need to be in your corner so that you can maintain a certain level of, of, of of stature. You know, when they see you as a business person, when they see you even as a person of at work. You mustn't be seen as somebody who's there. He's gonna lose it. Once he lose, he's gonna start calling everybody. You don't, you don't want to be that person. You need to maintain that boundary anxiety. I know guys, it also gets to me. I, I type, I type a WhatsApp before I send the WhatsApp. Then I think okay, let me send it later. Then I make myself forgot to forget sending it because I mean it's the right is nerve wracking when you are about to reach a breakthrough. The suspense, the suspense is overwhelming. But guys, we need to cool it. We need to act like this person needs to see you as though you are a cool cat. You know that is the only win or lose of this Thing sometimes depends on this. I was actually, yeah, I was watching a series, and this guy was actually deciding, am I gonna choose a Tooli or am I gonna choose a Fernand? He was still deciding, and people were giving him advantages of choosing a tool. And then the phone rang. He answered the phone. It was Tuli. And Tul is telling him, you know what? I'm the best. You know, I can do this. He put the phone down. After listening to all Tuli's rambling, he said, okay, thank you very much. It will be Fernando. Because she's far too nervous about it. The anxiety is just causing anxiety also to the person who's now responding to this thing. So we must be very careful about that energy, guys, that we put out during that time of a breakthrough and running with the Oz horses. On this point, I'm saying, resist the urge. Resist the urge. The next one that I want to go to is, hey, I always say, and I was having a good chat about this right before this recording about, you know, I always look up to people that always say, you hopefully you are so strong. You know, truly, you are so strong. And it's so funny because. Because I actually look at myself as in the opposite. Maybe I'd say weak, not in a bad way, but in the way that says, I'm fragile, I'm sensitive, mostly because I'm a flower. I'm. I'm a very soft person. So when people say to me, I'm strong, it's always followed by, you stood up to such a thing. You said this. But. But for me, I always look at it as though, you know, when somebody does something wrong or gives you the wrong impression or just even taking it to the extreme now violates you. For me, guys, I'm just too sensitive and fragile to put up with such stuff. I call it out immediately, sometimes even on a person's body language. If you're coming with body language that is looking to me, and if I interpret it, it's already viol. Dilating. I call it out on the spot. Not because I'm strong, because I feel like I'm fragile. And I'm very sensitive. So I'm not gonna be able to sit around in the room and be the strong person and hang on and pretend that the day is normal while a person is consistently violating, harassing, and just being inappropriate. So I think also during crunch time, those things, the sensitivity, especially for the woman, and I know men are also having that sensitive side. Call it out, call it what it is so that we can just Move from there. Let's not sit in the room with the elephant and also start talking about the elephant in the room. No, the elephant mustn't get into the room. The elephant mustn't get into the room. Let's call it out where it is. It must just stop right there. Because sometimes it's very difficult to function at optimum levels when you've got little, little things unsett floating around, you know, in people's mannerisms or the way that they speak and the way that they're coming across. So those things, they need to be called out before they even come into the room. And I suppose that people will agree, people that know me quite well that do say I'm strong is that maybe it's because of my rose thorn effect. You know, though I'm soft, though I'm a rose. But if, if you pick me at the wrong spot where there's a thorn, you will feel the effects. I pride myself on that. I pride myself on that. Even though sometimes I do face a self doubts. But my corner and my people in my corner always tell me, tuli, that person just held you at the wrong spot. So that, that was wrong. So yeah. And then the other one, the very last one that I'd like to really, really also address is sink or swim. By sink or swim is, guys, this moment can, like I said, it can actually change the whole periphery. All that you've been working for, all that you've been sticking your head out for, this could be the moment that it actually happens. And not even to, to the point that you were thinking and visualizing to an even greater abundance that you are not even capable of fathoming. So when that time comes, guys, you need to grab it with both hands. You need to realize you are in a bottle of water and you are in a, you are in the United Emirates plane. You are that glass of water. You're going to be sold for a hell of a lot your value. There is a lot. So this speaks to a lot about your value. And most of the times, guys, it boils down to how you value yourself. There are people who are sitting at the, at the warehouse and they believe that they should be cleaning the streets with their water. They are a bottle of water that is, should be just sitting there on the street are just dropping their levels. They are just. Guys, stay away from that. Stay away from that. It becomes very important, especially now with what is going on covert that we've spent so much time alone. It becomes sometimes difficult to be influenced by outsiders because you look at yourself in the mirror every morning. You are the one that's allowing social media into your space. You are the one that's allowing tv. You are the one that's allowing toxic friends and toxic people in your space. You have a choice. You have a choice. And it could cost you your moment to sink or swim, guys. Let's treat it each other. Well, I think I'm gonna wrap it up now. I'm gonna wrap it up nicely. Running with The Horses Episode 13 Signing out Bye, SA.
