This YouTube demo (DIY Watermelon Cake—Dessert Recipe) features Autumn Calabrese and Jessie Jane (LilyShop.com) making a healthy, fruit-based "cake" by slicing and stacking watermelon with layers of whipped cream (or Greek yogurt) and decorating with blueberries, raspberries, kiwi, nuts, or chocolate shavings. The transcript covers tool tips (use a serrated knife), prep steps (remove rind, shave slices to even), assembly (stack and layer like a cake, about five layers in the example), serving advice (make right before serving to avoid sogginess), and an outro promoting LilyShop.com and Autumn’s channel (subscribe/like).

What's up, everyone? Welcome back. I'm here with Jessie Jane of LilyShop.com One more time this month and we are making dessert. I've been looking forward to this one all month long. Yes, we are doing a healthy version of a dessert.
Yes, we are using fruit and we do have real whipped cream. You could substitute Greek yogurt for this. So we're gonna be stacking this watermelon and layering it with whipped cre. And then we're going to top it off with some fresh blueberries, raspberries. We even have kiwi. You can even do some walnuts, almonds if you wanted to do chocolate shavings. It's kind of like a creative fruit cake.
I love it. So let's get started.
Show me what we're doing. We used a regular watermelon and I want to show you. I sliced it just as I would. I took the whole watermelon and I used a serrated knife. And so that's really important because you're going to get the thick, straight slices. You're going to then take a smaller knife and go around and take the rind off. And what you could do is if you found fruit that was like in similar sizes, if we've gotten a smaller watermelon, you could also layer with cantaloupe or honeydew pineapple. And I recommend doing this right before you're going to take it somewhere or serve it because the watermelon has a lot of water in it, hence the name watermelon. You don't want it to leak out with the whipped cream and everything would kind of slide off. All right, so that's the last watermelon slice. So we kind of have to even everything out. So I'm going to shave it down.
So bottom layer first. Here's some of our whipped cream. I gotcha. So what I'm gonna do is put the first layer on. Lovely. Alright. Thin little layer. And you're just gonna do it just like a cake.
So we're just stacking layer by layer. And I guess you could make it as high as you wanted to. Right? We have what, five layers that we're doing.
Now. We're going to put the fruit on top.
Okay.
But now I know you. So before we start this, because I'm sure there needs like a pattern or like a.
No, you just want to make it as pretty as possible. So.
Okay, I'm gonna let you start it and then I'm gonna join it.
Put some blueberries on top.
Put all the walnuts on. You could use almonds if you wanted to, you know, chocolate cashews. This is where I would say, like, if you wanted to go even more decadent, you could put chocolate shavings on the sides or on the top.
Okay. Seriously. No, can we talk about this?
Yeah, let's talk about it. It's gorgeous.
Okay. Can we Instagram this? Like, yes.
But you guys, look at that. That's amazing. It's a much healthier version of a cake. You can take it to a barbecue, take it to a party, serve it at the end of a dinner party. Like, somebody might walk in and just think like, oh, okay. It's a cake decorated with fruit, but when you cut into it, it's actually fruit, which is really fun.
It is actually fruit. I love it. Cheeks.
