What's up, everyone? Welcome to the kitchen. I'm sharing with you guys one of my favorite breakfast recipes today. It is poached egg and asparagus toast. You're going to need 10 asparagus spears. You're gonna need at least three eggs. And then I'll get to the other ingredients that we're gonna use to make a lemon garlic sauce here in just a second. I have a cup of water that I just brought to a boil, and I turned it down to a simmer. I'm gonna add one tablespoon of lemon juice. And then when you poach eggs, people always get them to come out so pretty. Put the eggs in a bowl, and then you can put the bowl inside the pan and gently pour it in there. While those are poaching, we're gonna get the asparagus going. So I'm gonna heat up a frying pan, just gonna drizzle a little bit of olive oil in here for it. It's probably about a tablespoon.
Going right into the pan, and we're gonna start to saute those up, and actually, I'm probably gonna just put another drizzle over the top so that they have a nice little coat. So this the lemon garlic sauce that we're gonna use on the toast. What you're gonna need is 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard, 1 large egg yolk, 2 cloves minced garlic, 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, half a cup of olive oil, 1 tablespoon of whole grain mustard. And you're gonna do salt and pepper to taste. This is my olive oil. I'm just gonna add in my egg yolk first.
Lemon juice, minced garlic, Dijon mustard.
Whole grain mustard goes in next, a dash of salt, pepper. We're gonna start whisking this all up. So you just want to make sure this is nice and thick, and everything is mixed together really well. So what we're gonna do is we're gonna spread this on the toast. All right, Everything's just about done, so we're turning off the heat on our eggs and on our asparagus. The toast is ready, so the first thing I want to do, spread a little bit of our lemon garlic oil sauce on each piece of toast. Just spoon it on there. Give it a nice little drizzle around. You want to make sure you get that flavor.
Add a couple of asparagus spears to each piece. They're just laying right on top.
I think I got it. We're gonna just lay it right on top of their asparagus. And then to finish it off with a little extra flavor and to make pretty sesame seed oil, you're just gonna give it a tiny little drizzle.
And sesame seeds.
And I'm gonna top it with a little green onion. And there you guys have it. One of my favorite Saturday morning breakfast foods. Let's talk about this really quick. I know everybody's wondering, what does it count for on the 21 day fix? So you have two poached eggs. That counts as one red container. That's your protein. 10 asparagus spears. That counts as one of your green containers. Those are your veggies. You have two slices of Ezekiel toast. That counts as two yellows. Don't count it as one. It's two. And then between the lemon garlic sauce that we put on there and the sesame oil that I drizzled on there, you're gonna count it as one orange and two of your tablespoons for the day. So there it is. It's beautiful. It tastes delicious. It's not that hard to make. I hope you guys enjoy it. If you have any recipes that you think I should try, leave them in the comments below. Guys. This is George. He's our set pa. He takes care of us on set. He ran out to get everybody's food today, and they didn't make his son. As I prepared this lovely meal, it's not going to be left very long. He's inhaling it because healthy food can still be yummy, right? I'm. I'm glad they didn't make my food. I'm glad you get to eat that instead, Cuz Trump said by miles.
