What's up, everyone? Thanks for joining me. We are at the Beachbody nutrition lab today and we're talking raw food. So I want to give you guys a little intro into raw food and why it's good for you. I've brought along some of my favorites to show you today.
Whole is best when you're going raw. A lot of times you'll see apple slices, packed, carrot slices, cucumbers, things already chopped up. You always want to buy it whole. The second you start cutting it, it's exposed to oxygen and then it starts to break it down. The best thing about everything I brought to show you guys today is they're very easy to take with you on the go. First things first. Bananas. I always have a bunch of bananas with me. Great for potassium. Eat it after a workout. Will keep you from cramping up. Grapefruit. Grapefruit is a fantastic fat burner. Vitamin C, always healthy for you. Apples. How easy is this? Nothing to even say about it. Throw it in your bag. Take it with you. Love apples, especially when they're in season. Berries are fantastic. You'd be shocked at how many of these will fit in a purple container. Try to enjoy your fruit earlier in the day, not quite so late at night because you don't want all the sugar in your body, but great during the day. Raw nuts, raw almonds, raw cashews. Two of my favorites. And yes, I do get them. Raw and unsalted. Bell peppers are fantastic. These are great. Like I said, throw them in a bag. You can just bite right into them. Cucumbers. Always have cucumbers. In my house, my son and I can go through four cucumbers in a week. It's crazy, but they're a great snack. They're crunchy, they're refreshing. I drizzle mine with a little olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Good to go. Carrots. Fun little fact about carrots, when you're buying them, you want to buy the whole carrot. Those baby carrots, the ones that are chopped up and so pretty in the packages. Sometimes they've even done a little processing on them to make them look really pretty. So. So buy them in the full size. All you gotta do is use a carrot peeler on there and you are good to go. And last, I always have greens in my refrigerator. This is kale. Throw it in a bowl, you can chop up your other favorite veggies. Your cucumbers, your bell peppers, your carrots. Throw it in there. Brussels sprouts I have over here, too. I know what you're thinking, am I really gonna eat those raw? Cause normally you would eat them cooked. Yes. If you chop them up finely and throw it in your salad, it's great. Adds a nice little extra flavor in there. That's it. You. I hope you enjoyed it. Leave in the comments below what your favorite raw foods are, and I will see you guys next time. Bye.
