A short fitness-advice YouTube video by Autumn Calabrese focused on staying hydrated to support health and weight loss. The speaker gives five practical tips: (1) drink half your body weight in ounces of water per day (more when exercising), (2) set hourly alarms to remind you to drink and judge hydration by urine color, (3) form a 21-day habit of carrying a water bottle for yourself and kids, (4) drink 1–2 glasses of water before meals and wait ~15 minutes to help prevent overeating, and (5) flavor water with fruit (or frozen fruit ice cubes) as a substitute for sugary drinks. The video ends with a prompt to subscribe and share additional tips in comments.

Water. That's what we're talking about today. Because it is super important just in daily life and staying healthy to stay hydrated. So tip number one, we're gonna start with the simple math of it all. You're gonna drink half your body weight in ounces of water a day. If you're a 200 pound man, minimum, you're gonna drink a hundred ounces of water a day. If you're exercising, you always want to add more. In that way, you're replenishing from sweating. Super important, you guys. Tip number two, set an alarm. So for those of you who don't carry the water bottle with you all day, every day, if you haven't gotten into that habit yet, we all have our phones, they all have alarms on them. Set them. Make sure every hour you're drinking water. On those rare days if I forget my water bottle, that's when I don't feel as great. I'm sluggish. If I'm in the middle of a workout, I'll cramp up. Set that alarm. Make sure every hour you're drinking the water. Side tip. If you want to know if you're staying hydrated enough, look at your pee. Your pee should be the same color as water. If it's bright yellow, you are not hydrated enough and you know you need to drink more. Tip number three, it takes 21 days to form a habit. It's what my whole 21 day fix program is based on. 21 days to make a habit, 21 days to break a bad habit. So take these next 21 days and make it your new habit to have your water bottle with you at all times, at your desk, in the car, running around with the kids. Make sure you have one for the kids too, because it's super important. Even more so for them because they're always on the go. So make sure you have that water bottle with you. Set that new habit. Tip number four. This is a big one, guys. I use this one all the time. Make sure you drink one to two glasses of water before you eat your meal. It's gonna help keep you satiated, it's gonna help aid in your digestion, and it's gonna help keep you from overeating, which is huge when it comes to weight loss, right? Yes. A lot of times we can't tell the difference between being hungry and being thirsty. Our body mistakes the two. So the next time you get that craving that you're hungry and you want to eat, drink a wait 15 minutes and then decide if you are still hungry. Then go for those healthy snacks that I talk about in my snack vlog. You can click here to see what those are. This one is one of my favorites. It's have variety in your water. Water can get boring, right? It really doesn't have a flavor to it, so give it some. Find your favorite fruits and throw it in there. I love, especially now that spring is here and summer's here, throwing fruit into my water. So I'll do like strawberries and blueberries in one. I'll slice them up so that it takes on that flavor. Kiwi is awesome. Lemon and lime is super refreshing. Another trick you can do is actually freeze your fruit in ice cube trays and then just put those into your water. That way it keeps your water cold and flavored. But flavor it up and it's a great substitute. That way you don't reach for those sugary beverages.
