All right, welcome everyone to our Shift to Riches program on this lovely afternoon. And you might be listening to this live online, or you might be listening to this in the archives of audio or video up in our YouTube channel. But whatever medium that you're listening to this on or watching it, Welcome, and I appreciate you taking the time out to learn more about how you can possess the executive brilliance no matter what your role, your position, your stage in life. And this also applies both personally and professionally, and we'll talk about that as well. I'll also introduce myself as we get started, but in the meantime, before we kick off, if you have any questions, comments, or just want to throw out some ideas, to me, feel free to do that on the chat, and we have that being watched and monitored, and we'll make sure that we get to them as we go throughout the call. And if we don't address your, your questions or your comments, feel free to bug me. No, I'm kidding. But feel free to join in, and we will make sure that they are included with any notes or any outputs that we put out on our website regarding this program today. But I welcome you to today's program. And anytime we get this started, forgive me, I'm having a little bit of technical issue right now. Doesn't want to seem to advance. Let me explain to you who I am, and before you run off the call, for any of, especially those men out there who until they get into understanding what our Shift to Riches program is all about, we answer some of those questions right up front for you. But the first big question is, okay, Bernadette Boas, who are you and And what experience and background do you have to be sharing with us everything from talking business to life to challenges in our lives and all the things that can occur and impact us each and every day? Well, I am not only a 25-year corporate ex-executive, I will say, I grew up in the ranks of retail and technology from from the floor all the way through to global vice president's positions in the last roles that I had. I left 3 years ago and started my own consulting business as a result of— that was my primary function for a good number of those years, working with the likes of Walmart's Office Depot, the Limited Brands organization, and many other, especially in the retail sector. And yet, when I left I took with me a great deal of experience and expertise and lessons learned, good and bad, and started my own consultancy practice, which is The Boas Group. From there, I went and discovered a lot about myself when I left corporate. Again, all the successes and the failures and the mistakes that I made, and I captured them in my first book, Shedding the Corporate Bitch. And that's where everything about these programs and about what I am doing right now with Ball of Fire Inc., our media and publishing company, is all centered around those lessons and those experiences that I had in really kind of having a great deal of successes but also some missteps that I share with all of you. But at the same time, you share back with me throughout our programs and through our brand, Shedding the Bitch, which we'll get into in just a bit. But I've taken that experience and all of that knowledge and I now work with individuals, businesses, and associations as a consultant, as a shifter, as a mentor, as a trainer and educator, as a public speaker, and now as an author. And then of course I also do have a radio show that I have every week, every Tuesday at noon Eastern time. And what that radio show is about is also helping men and women kind of discover, confront, and shed all the angst, attitudes, negative mindsets that they might have so they can possess and really optimize the skills and talents that they possess and really leverage those to greatly, greatly achieve the successes both in their personal and professional life. And so you can reach out to me at any time here at sheddingthebitch.com, or you can go to— you can find me on Facebook and Twitter. Twitter, a YouTube channel, basically anywhere that you might want to reach out around Shedding the Bitch as a program, you can find me. And one thing that I really try to advocate on these calls, in my radio show, in my everyday life when I work with individuals, businesses, or associations, I really ask them that if they were to learn even one thing from the programs or the people that I have on the programs, then I would love for them to share it with other people and to not only learn for themselves but teach, whether it's one person or multiple people, anything that you, that you might learn, learn from these programs. And if you gather any of the content or materials, or you email me asking for the actual materials that we cover, and/or you go to my website and pull down many free resources that I provide out there, feel free to also share them with other people because our objective here at Bola Fire Inc. is to help you grow and therefore help other individuals grow as well. And if you ever care to, you're more than welcome to let me know that you're paying it forward, as we say, and shoot me an email at BernadetteBoas@SheddingTheBitch.com. I'd love to just give you a high five, so to speak, because each and every one of us can influence what goes on in the world around us as a result of how we pay forward and educate and train and inspire other people. So before we get started and before you go running off this program, I want to help you understand, if you haven't been a part of these programs in the past, for the past year or so, what Shedding the Bitch is about and really what bitches are. Because it's not an external slam or demeaning trait or saying that we put onto somebody else. It's actually what I learned throughout my own transformation and shedding, and now I share with all of you, is it's actually those inner demons, those inner negative mindsets, belief systems, angst, or attitudes that we're walking around with, fears, insecurities doubts, feelings of unworthiness that actually we're feeling about ourselves. That's what I call bitches, and that's how I want people to look at it as being kind of an eye-opener and a shocker, but at the same time have that perception because you're saying to yourself, I deserve a great deal more professionally and personally in my life, and therefore I need to get rid of those things that are holding me back or bearing down on me. And in my personal experience and what I captured in the book Shedding the Corporate Bitch was really discovering that I too, despite how high up in the corporate ladder I was and how much money I made and what nice cars and clothes I owned, it really came down to the fact that I was lashing out in some very negative, insecure ways because of some belief systems that I've had of myself. And until I was able to shed those, was I really able to harness my confidence and strength and power, my boldness, my fearlessness, to really go after what it was and what it is in life that I want to achieve. And I know you can do the same. And whether it is you dealing with those situations or you know someone who is you can have great impact and influence in helping them to discover, confront, and shed those bitches, as we call them, so they can create and accelerate whatever it is that they want in life. But today's call is about how you can achieve the brilliance, whether it is personally or professionally, overall in your life, so you can achieve whatever degree of success it is that you define for yourself. And therefore, if you— the previous calls, especially last week's call, you might want to go back and pull down the audio or the video. It was around transforming leadership, so it kind of segues very nicely into this program. It talked about kind of the traits of a leader in a transforming world. What we perceive as leadership today is very different than what it was even 5 years ago, 3 years ago, let alone generations ago. So today's program around executive brilliance, what I want you to walk away with is kind of how you can define what your brilliance is, what you desire, what you hope for, what you're working toward achieving in your life. What is that brilliance? And how do you define that because it's different for every one of us. I learned through my process and many of my clients and/or even just friends learned through their own process that success or rich, riches is very different between each one of us. How I define it today is very different than how I defined it 5 years ago and how you might define it. So you define your own brilliance and then work toward that brilliance. So we'll talk about that. We'll talk about how you can increase your brilliance, whether it is executive-wise, regardless of position you're in or role or title you have, or if it's in your personal life, how you can really increase your brilliance, your shine on the world. And then I want, want to kind of challenge you to identify 3 things that you can begin working on today. I'll even challenge you to just pick one. Just one thing that you might want to work on today. And I have a tool that I'm going to offer up to you at the end, a free, free complimentary tool. I do this every, with every program that I offer, and you can actually assess where you can use the most brilliance around, and therefore you can pick 1, 2, or 3 of them to work toward. And then I'd invite you to participate in one of our Shift programs where you can actually apply what you learn throughout the programs or just from this one in your own life immediately after today's program. So first off, to kind of level set our mind around what we're talking about, this brilliance, it's inner, it's outer, it's spiritual, it's emotional, it's your talents, your skills, it's all of it. And how you can really make yourself shine and be brilliant within all facets of your life. But I really found this quote to be very interesting, and if you participate on these programs, I always use quotes throughout the program to kind of ground us and level set us. But I really found this to be relevant to everything that I talk about and what we collaborate on here at Shedding the Bitch, because it is about trying to get ourselves unstuck and really kind of cleansed and purged of all the junk that's holding us back and that's cluttering our minds and our spirits from really living the life that we deserve, that you deserve. So here's a great quote, just found it, Patricia Sun. There was no commentary around who she is, so forgive me if I'm overlooking a very kind of brilliant woman herself in whatever capacity. But I found this quote and I found it to be very relevant. Let me read it for you. We have magnificent brains, but we use a great deal of our brilliance to keep ourselves stuck and ignorant, to keep ourselves from not shining. We are so afraid of our beauty and radiance and brilliance because it scares the adults around us. When we were children. Now I could spend the next 45-50 minutes talking just about this quote because it is so profound. And, you know, several years ago when I was in my little cocoon of corporate America, you know, I would never sit around and dissect kind of statements and concepts like this. And yet I find that over the last several years I make myself time in my very, very tight schedule, as I'm sure you have very tight schedules, to really take time to think about these type of things and to really make sure our brain is being optimized as much as possible because they have such significance to our lives. So if you look at that, it's basically saying that we keep our own selves stuck and we keep ourselves ignorant of just what brilliance and beauty and smarts and opportunities that exist within us. We— you are capable of achieving anything and everything if you could just get out of your own way. And that's everything that we talk about in these programs and on my radio show and when I public speak and when I work with people one-on-one or in groups, is we need to work on getting rid of and shedding all that junk junk, demons, inner critics, belief systems, whatever you might want to call it, so you can shine brilliantly. And yet many of us are afraid of that. I'll say it through whether it's my own process that I work on with my own coaches and I work within groups around kind of shedding my own junk and/or on listening and helping and supporting other people like yourselves. And I'll ask, what are you so afraid of? And they'll actually say that they're fearful of success, they're fearful of coming out of this safe environment that they've created for themselves. They're, you know, they're afraid of really shining and what change that will come with that. And therefore they're afraid of giving up that comfort zone that they live in right now in order to really kind of pursue the brass ring, so to speak, that they want for themselves. Because with brilliance will come change. With you getting unstuck and getting aware and conscious about what abilities and opportunities you have and what capabilities you have in achieving that success, that brilliance will create change and create— creating change is very discomforting and sometimes it could be painful. And yet, once we kind of purge ourselves and push ourselves through that fear and that pain, we come out on the other side kind of always saying, "Wow, why didn't I do that sooner or earlier?" And so that's what we want to kind of ground ourselves with right now is in order for you to achieve executive brilliance in your life, You have to be willing to kind of compromise, make change, get uncomfortable, go outside your comfort zone, however you want to kind of visualize that and picture that. And realize that once you do, once you push yourself through that discomfort, that pain, that fear, you will achieve whatever it is that you want, even if it's starting in small steps building up to a great, great achievement. So I thought that was a very profound quote that helps to show us exactly what it is that, that has been around and has been kind of causing many of us to suffer with and suffer because of. And it's simply because of the fact that we might not have been told that we're brilliant, we might not have been told that we're fabulous and we're very skilled and talented and beautiful inside and out. And therefore we have to take accountability and ownership ourselves to kind of be that voice, be that inner critic, be that inner optimist for ourselves on all the positive things and the brilliant things that make us who we are. And if you don't believe it today, you work your way to the to the point of believing it, which segues into our formula that we talk about all the time, the Shift to Riches Formula that I experienced myself, and now I am dedicated and passionate about helping other people go through the process themselves in order to realize the riches that they want in their life. I'm achieving the riches I want, and they may not be the same as what you want, and therefore this is all about you. All of the programs, everything that I do is about you and how you can shift from those bitches that are consuming you to the riches that you want in your life. And this is the formula that we use. This is the process that people go through. This is the process I went through, and we talk about it each and every week. We're not going to delve into it today, but what we try to do through through these Shift to Riches programs, through the Shedding the Bitch brand and everything that Ball of Fire Inc., my company, does is around helping you to discover and confront what those angst and attitudes or negative mindsets are to help you shed them and get rid of them and purge them from your life and your heart and your soul once and for all and your mind so you can create and accelerate all those skills and talents and desires that you have within yourself so you can achieve the riches that you want in life. That's everything that we do here, and that will help you be as broad as you want to be. Okay, I'm just going to take a look because I see a good number of you joining in, and I want to make sure there's no comments or questions thus far, and there is not. So, one, now that we have the grounding on kind of what are the bitches that we talk about, and then what is the formula that we use here to help you achieve that executive brilliance, we'll move on to talk about what kind of decreases your brilliance. Before then, we talk about how you can work to increase that brilliance, both executive in your professional life or in your personal life. So what decreases someone's brilliance? So picture that diamond that we showed on the previous screen, previous slide. Unless you're listening to this without any materials in front of you, just picture a big diamond in all its brilliance. When people think of brilliance, they'll think of the sunshine or, or diamond. What can actually kind of, bleh, make it very shadowy or scuffy as opposed to being brilliant? Well, it's not having a clear direction or purpose for your own life. And many of us, many people will come to me and they will say, well, Bernadette, what do you mean by I need to have a purpose or I need to have a plan for my life? Forget your shopping list or the set of goals that you have at work or maybe the objectives they gave you, you know, as a salesperson or just any role within your company. Forget about those for right now. What this is, is you having, whether you're John, Joe, Mary, Sam, having a clear direction and purpose for your life both professionally and personally. And a lot of people find it's easier to think about it professionally. And that's one reason why we have this program around Executive Brilliance is both— I have tons of lessons for you and tips and tricks and successes as well around this, but at the same time, it's easier for people to see what it really means to have professional goals versus personal goals. And yet you need to know that having a clear clear direction and purpose in your life will help you achieve those things in your professional life as well. So have a purpose. So your purpose might be that you want to be a parent, you want to be the best parent that you can be, you want to be the best mother, and maybe that's a stay-at-home mom, or maybe that's a mother with a career and you want to be the best mother that you can be. And both of those are vehicles for you to do that, doing that. Maybe you want to be a world-renowned, let's say, author, just for the sake of it, and that's your purpose, is to share your message and to, to help other people through that message. Maybe it's to help in the slightest ways to cure hunger, and you want to do everything locally regionally, nationally, globally that you can to, to kind of stave off hunger. Maybe it's for children, or maybe it's for, for adults, or women, or pregnant women. Maybe you just want to be the best person, friend, brother, sister, aunt or uncle, husband or wife, sister or brother that you can be. Whatever that direction or purpose purposes that you have for yourself, not having a clear direction will keep you somewhat not as polished and brilliant as you can be. And then if you don't have a definition for what brilliance is, so what would make you be the best person that you can be? Also, there's this acronym out there if you haven't heard it, it's called Just Over Broke and it's used when, as an acronym for job. So if you're professionally, you just have a job and you show up every day from 9 to 5 and you punch the clock or whatever the case might be, and you're not really committed and putting yourself all into it because it's not something that you really want to do or like to do, it just happens to pay the bills. Well, that'll definitely keep your brilliance down and definitely keep it scuffed, so to speak, as opposed to finding something that you're passionate about, and therefore you can, you know, build a career off of it, you can build a business, you can build a passion or a hobby off of it, whatever the case might be. If you're a follower and not a leader, and we talk about this a lot when it comes to, when it comes to kind of even transforming leaders, developing leaders, what you, what impact you can have and change within your organization professionally and personally. It could greatly impact you if you are more so following than leading through that career, through that objective, through that goal that you have. So you don't want to just be a follower. You want to take the bull by the horn, so to speak, and you want to really live that that goal and that dream that you have for yourself and lead your way through it and lead anybody else that has to come with you, whether it's family, friends, or business associates. But leading your way is going to make you more brilliant than being a follower all the time. Being a yes man or woman, and this I get hit up with a lot. I'll get questions like, well, Bernadette, how do I, how do I How do I impress people at work? And so I'll start talking about the things that they can do within their job, within their role, within their function and beyond to impress. And what they're just simply looking to do is kind of make a good impression, kind of kiss butt, so to speak, or brown nose, or just flatter, or just compliment their way to success. And that's never going to happen. It might work initially, it might work with even certain people, but eventually you'll— it'll be called on the carpet. You'll be called on the carpet, and that won't be getting you the success and the brilliance that you're looking for. So you need to not be a yes person, man or woman. You need to kind of stand your ground, state your opinion, and you might have to compromise and negotiate through it and debate through through it. At the same time, you're standing up for yourself and for what you believe in, and that holds a great deal more weight than being a yes person. Possessing an "it's all about me" attitude, that will never get anybody anywhere. So let me slow down and make sure I explain that. Life is all about the people and the connections around you. You can never, ever exist, let alone survive, let alone achieve life by being, you know, by having an attitude of it's only about me. The more selfish, the more taking, the more, you know, pulling toward you versus giving and versus being open and collaborating outward is the a huge opportunity for failure and for misstep. Having that "it's all about me" and just taking, taking, taking, taking is probably the biggest detriment that anyone can have to themselves personally or professionally. And it might not appear that at first. You might just be thinking, well, you know, I'm— my goals are my goals and I have to achieve them, and that's how I've been trained and brought up, and it's been pounded in my head, and that's how I compete, and that's how I exist, it'll eventually, trust me, backfire on you, especially in times like today. Over the past, you know, 5 years through everything that the world's been going through, people want to collaborate, engage, interact. They want, you know, they want to be part of something. They want to be a part of a community, and therefore having it all about me attitude is definitely more so than ever, more timely than ever, one of the biggest ways and fastest ways that you can kind of totally ruin the brilliance of who you are in the, in the face of the people around you that you're looking to kind of garner their respect and their appreciation for you. So that's just one big one. For you. Okay, and then the last one we kind of touched on, it's always taking, taking, taking versus giving and serving other people. So if you want to decrease your brilliance in any way, shape, or form, there's a few of the ways that you can do that. But because we don't want to talk about the, the, the don'ts, we'll talk about the dos, and we'll elaborate on these as well in an assessment workbook ebook that I'm going to offer up to you at the end of the program that you can go out on my website and pull down for yourself and take an assessment and also see some extra dos and don'ts or ways to increase your brilliance versus decreasing it. So, but these are definitely some of those ways that if you think about what you get turned off by from other people, whether it's at work or at home or in your social life, Then think about what that must be doing to you if you are also kind of projecting or portraying those same behaviors or attributes that turn you off. So think about these, these things that decrease your brilliance and work to find ways to, to make yourself shine as brilliantly as possible. Okay, just keeping an eye on the on the conversation online. One, one way of looking at brilliance is also in the stars. And when I ran across this quote, the activist José Martí is, you know, from the 1800s. And yet again, and I kind of show this through all the quotes that I use in all these programs, things that have happened hundreds and hundreds of years ago apply even today, and sometimes even more so than they did when they were originally quoted or stated or conceived. And here was one that I just also fell in love with. Had to think about it for a few minutes, but then I just really wrapped my arms around it, so to speak, and really appreciated what its meaning was in such a short, compacted sentence. But José says, "Men are like the stars. Some generate their own light while others reflect the brilliance they receive." And I kind of had a look at this and kind of think about it for a while because I was thinking that there was going to be this yin and yang, like this positive, negative, black and white type of thing or opposite type of thing, and yet it's not. What it's simply saying is that there are there are some that generate their own light. I mean, they're just walking throughout life, experiencing life, and they're just putting out this brilliance, this realness, this authenticity, if you will, into their life. And obviously they're receiving it back because what you put out, you get back, right? But then there's others that are taking advantage of, but that's not to be said in a negative way, but they're leveraging other people's brilliance to learn from, to grow by, and to receive, and therefore they reflect the brilliance of others that they're receiving. So what it's saying to me is as long as you're open to realizing that you can always grow, you can always improve, prove, you can always receive the goodness of others, then you will indeed receive it. And therefore, if you're not born with it, as they say, or you haven't achieved it at this point in time, at this very moment, if you lack an area of brilliance in your own mind, then there's always a way to go out and search search for it and receive it. But you have to be open to receive it, and therefore you can receive brilliance as much as you can walk around and give brilliance out in life. And that's what I really liked about this quote, is it was just simply saying, if you don't possess it today, you can certainly go and look to receive it and possess it tomorrow. And that's a huge kind of support for everything that we're talking about on this program is just because you might not possess it today doesn't mean you'll never possess greatness in however you define that. And therefore, always look to know that you can discover what it is that you're looking to possess in your heart and your mind and your soul and your heart, in your life, and then go and seek it out and be open to receive it and be open to be learned and educated and inspired, and therefore then you will indeed possess it yourself. And that's what I loved about this quote, so I hope you enjoyed as well. So it helps us to segue beautifully into— that's if my slides want to cooperate with me. All of a sudden I have a feeling my My slides are going to bounce about 5, 5 slides forward. There we go. So what increases your brilliance, whether it's in business or in life? And this program is around executive brilliance, but at the same time, that executive brilliance could be in any aspect of your life. And it's kind of, you're going to think, okay, it's got to be the opposite of what decreases your brilliance, and in many ways it is. And again, I'll offer up the free resource that's out on my website. It's an assessment that you could be taking today, and you can assess yourself in a number of areas around brilliance and whether you possess that brilliance or not. And then you could go and work on that brilliance, just like Jose said, and you can go and work on it and come back and assess yourself 3 or 6 months from now and see if you've been able to to obtain and therefore possess that new brilliance around you. And so you'll see some things mentioned here but even more mentioned within that workbook that I offer up to you out on our website, sheddingthebitch.com. So, but don't go there yet. Wait until the end of the program and I'll touch on some of them right now. So what increases your brilliance in business or in life? So we talked about what decreases it is not knowing where you're going in life, what— having a clear roadmap or direction or purpose. So therefore, to increase your brilliance, you want to kind of spend time, spend some me time. I talk about this a lot because I had to really train myself to even spend 5 minutes on myself on a daily basis, and now it's up to a lot of time. That I spend on myself in regards to really thinking about what is it that I want, what, where am I going, how am I gonna get there, what are my obstacles that are gonna be in the way, what resources and support and people are in my life that can help me get to my goals and my dreams that I want. So if you know where you're going, if you have a clear set of goals, a set of desires you've laid out what are those things that you want. Maybe you include your, your family with that. You can make them professional and personal, obviously. That kind of completes and rounds out your life. They could be spiritual, they could be physical, your health, financial, whatever, and all areas of your life that you have great desires and dreams for. Lay them out, put them on a piece of paper. And then look clearly and truthfully at, okay, so what are you going to need to get there? What brilliance, what success or achievements are you looking for? And what do you have today? What do you possess today? And what don't you have? And therefore, what do you need to go out and achieve or learn or obtain, acquire? And therefore possess. And that's where your goals, desires, and your brilliance measurements— brilliance measurements are simply, you know, where are you now? Just like the assessment that I'm offering up to you, you can kind of test yourself. Where are you now and where do you want to be? And, you know, therefore, what do you need to do in the middle of that to get to possessing that brilliant skill or talent or characteristic of yourself. And then commit to it. Be all, be in, be blah, be all in or don't show up. Commit and you will achieve. But if you just simply say, okay, well, I want to become a manager by this time next year, but you don't really believe that you will, you don't believe that you can. There's potential known obstacles in your way already at work or in the workplace with manager or with just lack of promotions or opportunities or new projects, whatever the case might be. And therefore you kind of just go, well, yeah, yeah, that's what I want, but— it's a lot of buts— but what you need to do if you really want to possess brilliance is you need to commit. You need to be all in. You need to say, okay, regardless of the obstacles, the risks, the challenges, the lack of anything, I just need to identify what those things are, come up with a plan, and then just start chipping away at it and acting on it and really committing to it. And if something is that important to you, people will, will call it the big why. If it's that important to you, that big why, why you're going after something, then you will ensure that you remove all the obstacles, you gain all the skills and talents and things that you need, and you achieve whatever that goal is. One step at a time, one day at a time, chipping away small, slowly, and yet certainly, and in a very committed way. So you want to be all in. You want to create your destiny, not just wait for it to happen. Now, you know, I fall prey to the whole concept of, well, if there's such things as destiny and fate, then things are just going to happen because they're going to happen, because that's what destiny and fate is. If it's meant to be, it's meant to be. And therefore, there's arguments that, you know, you can't change it, it's just it is what it's going to be. And yet I tend to be on the side of the argument of no, I can influence the direction that that destiny or fate leads me. And therefore, that's what I mean here, is you need to create your own destiny. You need to create your own fate by the decisions that you make and the actions that you take. Or it'll happen in the actions that you don't take and the decisions you don't make and the risks you don't take. So it is true that whatever is gonna happen is gonna happen and whatever your destiny or your fate is, but that's because you have the choice. You can either influence it by taking actions and taking risks and making certain decisions, or it'll happen the way it'll happen because you don't. And That, I think, is what people need to settle in on and understand is you can't kind of just sit back and expect the world to happen as it's going to happen. Or you can, because it will. It'll happen because you don't do anything about it. Or you can look at it like, no, I'm going to look at it like my glass is half full as opposed to empty, and therefore I'm going to influence how that destiny or that fate happens. By taking the actions and making the decisions and taking the risks that I want to make thoughtfully. So, and that brings us to taking risks thoughtfully. Nice segue there. And that is, we, we all want to be able to take risks, and yet we're fearful of taking those risks because with risks comes opportunity for a lot of other things that we don't like. And I don't like using some of those words because they're all negative, so I don't use them. But if we take the risks thoughtfully, meaning we think them out, we lay out the pros and the cons, we lay out the worst-case scenario, we lay out what options we have should everything, you know, that could go bad goes bad, whatever the case might be. But if you really think about the risk that you're going to take, whether you have 5 minutes to to think about that risk, or you have 5 years. If you really consider it thoughtfully, then I won't say it can't go wrong, because that's what a risk is, it's that chance that it will, but at least you've gone into it all in, and you've done it thoughtfully and purposely and by choice. And therefore, it's a good risk as opposed to bad risk. Risks. And I have a whole program around that, good risks versus bad risks. So I won't spend a lot of time there. And then one way of achieving executive brilliance, no matter what position or level you're at today, is to be that leader. To be a— we talked about the fact that you can decrease your brilliance by being a follower and not a leader. It is so It doesn't matter if you are an individual contributor at your job or in your work, you don't manage anyone, and you still can lead very effectively to where that leadership of zero or one leads to much greater scopes and scales of leadership. And leading, even if, you know, even if you're an individual contributor, simply means that one, you're leading by example. You're being open, you're collaborating, you're engaging, you're interacting, you're teaming, you're supporting, you're being creative and innovative, you're being contributator— contributive? You're contributing to the things around you, the projects around you, the people around you. You're mentoring, you're coaching, you're advising, you're listening, you're supporting, you're consoling, whatever it is needed. You can lead by purely the example that you, that you make and that you take. And then as you bring people on and your scale and scope of leadership changes and grows and expands, then you are putting yourself in a very, very very brilliant light, and therefore people are definitely going to want to follow you as opposed to you following other people. So regardless of position, rank, title, any of those corporate trappings of organizational structures— and actually, I shouldn't say corporate, that's unfair, because small businesses and even medium-sized businesses that are very non-corporate corporate, can definitely also have this, this need for individual leaders as well as, you know, team leaders. And they can also have the organization structure and politics as the big corporate guys. So regardless of the structure that you work in, and regardless if you're an individual contributor or you're already a team leader, you can continue to expand and make your yourself more brilliant by just engaging and interacting, collaborating, and all those things that we talked about, and truly, truly being a leader as opposed to a follower. And then of course we talked a lot, and I do all the time on these programs, about you can really, really emphasize your brilliance by giving and serving as opposed to taking. And yet I have to tell you, it took me a good percentage, a good part of my life, and it hasn't been until recently, and I find this in a lot of men and women, that they're not good receivers. They're good givers, the good servants. They're not real good receivers, and I would argue that to really be and to really obtain the brilliance, the executive brilliance, the personal brilliance that you want, you not only have to give and serve, but you also have to be open to receiving. And there's many of us, there's many of you that don't, you know, don't receive well. And I can make it really simple. Even if you can't take a compliment well. You always shove it off and make some negative comment about yourself even though someone's trying to compliment you. Or someone tries to give you a gift or they offer something to you and you immediately kind of say, "No, that's not necessary," or "No, I can't accept that," or "That's not, you know, that's not important." That is actually one of those ways to decrease your brilliance because it makes you seem as if you don't feel you're worthy enough or deserving enough or good enough to be receiving. And, and in a lot of, actually a lot of cultures, you could actually offend by not being able to receive someone's gift of any kind. So one way to really ensure your own brilliance is to not only give and serve, but also really Teach yourself, learn, grow into being a receiver. And don't look at it selfishly, because it's not selfish. And trust me, this was definitely one area that I myself had to work on over the last several years. And a great deal of the premise for, for my book is the fact that I needed to understand that in order for me to receive or I'm sorry, I'm sorry, in order for me to grow, I had to be open to receiving. And that could simply be that I had to be open enough to learn something new, to accept the fact that I don't know everything, which at one point in my life I thought I knew everything. And therefore I had to be open to receiving the education, the learning, the coaching, the mentoring, the support of other people, let alone the tangible stuff people might want to give you, or the compliments, or anything else. You need to— in order for you to grow and to gain that executive brilliance that you're looking for, you need to be able to be open to receiving what other people want and have and can offer you. And learn to be that lifetime student and receiver and, and kind of tap into your inner child child of who used to love to receive and be given gifts and be given love and hugs and, and, you know, smooches on the cheek. Because that's what real brilliance of all kinds is, is truly is. It's brilliance at its best, at its brightest, at its clearest, is when you are totally open to receiving as much as then giving and serving and leveraging all of that with it. And then of course, one area that I, I talk a great deal about, if you really want to have great impact in your life, at your job, in your social circle, is to go over and above what everyone else is expecting of you. You don't need to impress by brown-nosing or complimenting or kissing butt or many other things that people get in great debate with me on. You can simply, you know, shine gloriously by going over and beyond what people are expecting of you, as opposed to just showing up for work at 9 to 5. You know, show up all in like we talked about, committed, dedicated, determined, even if you keep it between 9 and 5 because maybe that's what your schedule allows, but then you're going over and beyond to contribute and engage and collaborate and mentor and support and lead and provide new strategies and ideas to the organization or even just to your team. Just going over and beyond what might be written on your job description or in your performance reviews, each quarter or every year. Going beyond that will make your brilliance shine brighter and clearer than anyone else around you. And therefore, all that other kind of junk, that fake, artificial, not real type of impressing or showing up, it will be negated. It won't— it's not going to be important— it's not going to be needed because of the fact that you're just all in, committed, dedicated, and determined to use all of your brilliance to get whatever it is that you want in life. Okay, so there are some great dos around increasing your brilliance, and there's some significant don'ts, but there's even more so on the free assessment that I've offered up to to you and I put out on our website, sheddingthebitch.com, and you might need to scroll down on the homepage a little bit, but you'll see a free assessment there and it's all around possessing executive brilliance and determining today if you possess that brilliance or maybe there's some areas in your life, both personally or professionally, that should you work on, that you can come back in 3 or 6 or 9 months and reassess yourself right there on the same document and see if your brilliance, it has increased, has greatly improved. And I can guarantee you that even if you focus on one area that might be less than desirable for yourself around being brilliant, that you will see that, that scale of your brilliance increasing over time. Even if you focus on one, although I challenged you at the beginning of the program to kind of pick 3 of those things. Even if you focus on one, and the result to you personally, professionally, spiritually, emotionally, physically, financially will be just that warmth, that contentment, that satisfaction, that overall riches of having a just a real brilliant life. That's what you can achieve. And like we said at the very beginning with some of the quotes that were, that were stated, is just because you don't possess it today doesn't mean you won't and can't possess it tomorrow. So I do wanna kind of advocate to you to go out, find that assessment, go and scroll down through the, the resources and find the other assessments and the other programs that we've had and the materials that have been offered up and begin today just working and chipping away at some of those bitches that we talked about, those angst, attitudes, negative mindsets that you need to get rid of so all of yourself, your skills and your talents can shine through. But as long as you have them, as long as you have those angst and attitudes, negative belief systems about yourself in your heart or are in your head, then it's going to be hard to ever achieve that pure diamond-like brilliance. And that's what our goal and objective is for you, is to achieve that. So I welcome you to go out to sheddingthebitch.com and find this assessment and any of the others and take them. If you'd like to, you can always shoot me an email saying, Bernadette, I've completed it, and then I'll even check back with you in 3 months, 6 months to see if you have reassessed and if you have increased your brilliance inside or out. Okay, so I welcome you to do that and, and really leverage that. And then join us in a couple of Tuesdays. Today is July 5th, and we won't have a program next Tuesday. I believe it's the 12th, July 12th. But come back on July 19th. Go out to the website and just check out when we have programs. I often don't like to list dates just because if you're watching this, I don't want you to think that you only have this one shot to watch this program. But go out on the, onto the website, sheddingthebitch.com, underneath programs, and you'll see future events coming up, as well as if you follow me on Facebook or Twitter, you'll also see announcements through those venues as well. And then keep in mind too, If you jumped on this late, because I saw a number of people jumping off, going, jumping on, going halfway and then having to leave the program, or jumping in halfway through, these programs are both videotaped and I put them up on YouTube. They're also audioed and they go out on iTunes, or though you'll find them on our website, sheddingthebitch.com, and you can go to any of those sources and pull them down at any point time. And the actual PowerPoint presentation that GoToWebinar produces as a result of these programs will also be put out on our website. So you have an opportunity to do audio, seeing the PowerPoint slides, or just viewing it on video at any point in time going forward. Alright? And then I, lastly, I always invite my community to join me in our exclusive Shift to Riches programs that I have. I only invite 10 people to each of the programs so I can work with them one-on-one, and yet they still get the benefits of 9 other individuals to help them through executing their own Shift to Riches program for themselves. So where they can discover and confront and shed the bitches that are holding them back so they they can create and accelerate the riches that will propel them forward. So I welcome you to look over those programs as well, and I'd love for you to join one of our groups. And lastly, at any time, and I've mentioned this throughout the program today, if you have any ideas or suggestions for guests, for topics, for areas of focus that you would like our Shift to Riches program to provide, I would love to hear them. You can send them to me directly, Bernadette Boas at sheddingthebitch.com. You can go out on the website, leave your comments or feedback, or you can find me on any social network out there and just say hi and, and provide your feedback there. But I want to thank you so much for joining today. Oh, let me just real quick, I always seem to forget to do this at the very end. I want to see if anybody has any questions. And they don't. So I am going to welcome you to join us again in a couple of weeks, and then always check us out online at sheddingthebitch.com. So for Bernadette Boas, me, and for our Shift to Riches program, thank you very much for joining, and I look forward to having you on our program in future dates. Thanks everybody, have a great day.
