When leaders make tough calls, explain the decision, how you reached it, and why. People respect you more when they understand your reasoning, even if they disagree. Without that transparency, they just feel unheard.
Chapters
As long as when you make those decisions, you're very good at the communication, meaning help people explain what decision has been made, how did you come about making that decision, why did you make that decision, and then let them know kind of like the rationale behind it. They feel more, they, they understand the why, and so they respect you more. It's acknowledging, I know you may not like the decision, but let me help you understand why I made the decision. And what did I consider? I know that you didn't want us to do this, but here's why I had to do it. So it's not just making decisions without any communication. People don't feel good about that.
