818-572-2910. Hello everyone, how is every— I can't talk today. Hi everyone, it is a glorious day here in Atlanta, Georgia. And I think the last time I spoke with you, I was in LA. That was fun. And it is nice to be in Atlanta on a nice fall day. The leaves are turning a brilliant orange and burnt gold and reddish colors, and I can see all the massive trees outside my window. So I get an opportunity to kind of see that, that fall transition going on. And I hope it's beautiful and wonderful wherever you are. Today's been a crazy day. I've already been up and at it for hours, as I'm sure you have been as well. But I do want you to call in at 1-818-572-2910, and we're going to be talking about and touching on, just touching on, the topic of kind of being the CEO of your life, controlling your life, taking it back and owning it and Feeling powerful within it. Part of our Designing a Powerful Woman program and tele-summit that's coming up on December 7th. But more importantly, the person who's really an expert in this subject area is Mindy Sylvester, and she will be on our webinar series, which is the Shift of Riches program, at 1 o'clock today, 1 PM Eastern time. Jenny Craig, you've heard of her on this program and on the Shift of Riches program multiple times. She will actually be the one interviewing Mindy at 1 o'clock Eastern time, and you can go to sheddingthebitch.com/events to get a registration link for that event at 1 o'clock. I have another public speaking gig, I guess, at 1 o'clock, so had a conflict, but Jenny is stepping in, and she's part of Live Your Power, and she'll do a fabulous job with Mindy. They know each other for a long time, so that should be a great a great episode, so you'll want to tune in. And today I'm just going crazy, absolutely crazy, because I am prepping to hit New York City on Thursday for some meetings, really some secretive high-profile meetings all around shedding the bitch. So I'm very excited, and I have all of you who listen to this live or in archive to thank for that. And helping to spread the word and spread the movement around Shedding the Bitch. And if you haven't gotten an opportunity to share it with all your friends and colleagues and peers, feel free to do so. Shoot them the email— I'm sorry, shoot them the website address, sheddingthebitch.com, or shoot them one of our programs that you might have attended or this radio episode on BlogTalkRadio. You just forward it on and let's Let's come together and let's build a community of men and women, young and old, who can help each other kind of discover, confront, and shed all the angst, attitudes, and negative mindsets that they have in their life in order for them to be able to create and accelerate all the riches in life. And it's those angst and attitudes and negativities that we have in our heart and head that I refer to as bitches here at Shedding the Bitch. So If you're new to the program and new to listening in, welcome, and simply understand that that's what we talk about. We want to empower you, male or female, to stand up and live in your own power, as Jenny's tagline likes to say, and to really kind of pursue life fearlessly and bold. So that's what we do here at Shedding the Bitch, and I would love— excuse me, I have a little itch. If you're watching me on video, I have a little itch in my head. I would love your input. Input on what topics, what guests. We've had Guy Kawasaki on the program, Greg Reid was on the program and he's coming up on December 6th, woohoo! So stay tuned for that, I'm very excited that he was able to work us back in his schedule. Like I said, Jenny Craig has been on the program, we've had some great, great guests. So if there's something that you need to hear about, I am open to providing that to you and just let me know. You can always email me at BernadetteBoas@sheddingthebitch.com as well. So the other thing I just, I just have to share, and since I don't have a guest today, you just get me. Aren't you lucky? I just have to share this. I do this program out of my home studio. Actually, it's just my home office, but why not like beef it up a bit? And, and as a result, many of you, especially because I videotape these as well as I have the recordings for you made available through Beloved Talk Radio, I should say, I videotape them, and you'll often hear or you'll see my dog Charlie. He's down on the floor at the moment, and he's grown very accustomed. It's amazing how smart dogs are. You know, I don't know how many of you have dogs out there. If you do, I'd love to hear your own little stories as well. Feel free to call in or chat in on our, on our chat room. But he knows that as soon as I kind of set up my computer, but more importantly, as I start setting up my video camera, and then I pull out the microphone that I use, the Snowflake Microphone, and then he hears kind of the BlogTalkRadio introductions. He kind of stands at attention because he knows he's about to be given a nice big fat juicy marrow bone, because that's the only way I can keep him quiet for the 30 minutes that I do the show. And then I have to give him another one for the hour programs that I hold throughout the week, but predominantly on Tuesdays at 1 o'clock Eastern Time. So He's beneath me, and it was just so apparent that as I started getting set up today, that he just kind of stood at attention. He knew that he was about to get a treat ahead of the fact that he's a good boy. I guess you're supposed to treat after they've done something good, but he gets it ahead of time just as a way— it's like a pacifier, just to kind of keep him quiet and tamed. And you'd be amazed, I've had upwards of 3 dogs, I wanna say, here during my broadcasting, and yet they keep very quiet. I think he had an outburst on one of my calls, but I'm sure you won't mind. And if I had a remote control to actually move the camera around, I would actually put him on camera so you can kinda see, but he's under the table having a good old time, and I'm just having a great day myself and a great week, actually. I'm very excited about Mindy talking about being the CEO of your business and your life on the program at 1 o'clock. And again, go to sheddingthebitch.com under the events section to check it out. But the reason why is because I was given a very nice compliment over the weekend that not only was I appreciative of, but I started thinking about it and started to kind of dissect it. Not anything more than for educating myself and then potentially you. And it came from a very, what I'll call it, a dear close peer and colleague that I met through a business program, Scott Goodnight. Hey Scott, I'm throwing this out to you. And he has his Breakthrough program, which is amazing. You need to check it out online. Just go to, I believe, breakthroughyourfear.com. Scott, don't kill me if I'm wrong because I know you changed the— you updated the the domain recently, but just look under Scott Goodnight on Facebook or on Google, you'll find him. Anyway, so as we were talking, and I've known him probably for a year and a half now, but I was part of his program called Mental Maps for a good part of the first part of this year, from like January. I think I had to stop going in the August timeframe. And it's a program that really, you know, I need coaching as much as I do coach, and I do here try to educate and inspire all of you. And so his program works through the same type of stuff, and therefore there was stuff I needed to continue to look at within me, and his program helps to do that. So he's kind of seen a good deal of me over the last 6 to 9 months, and over the weekend at a program that we were both participating in, he came up to me and he said, I have to tell you, you know, and I have to kind of share with you an observation I've made regarding you over the past, you know, 6 or 9 months. He said you have come into your own, into yourself so dramatically and so unbelievably these past like 6 to 9 months. He said, you know, the woman that you are today versus the woman you were 9 months ago is just— you were strong before, you were confident before, you were kind of in control of your destiny before. He says, but you own it now. He said, and it's so evident in not only kind of the way you walk into a room or the way you, you know, kind of stand and your mannerisms in front of a room full of people, but more importantly, how you are even looking and how kind of soft and at peace my face is and my dress and everything about me. And I was very humbled by that compliment. And yet when I was thinking about Mindy's program today and this, the programs that we do on Tuesdays at 1 PM, especially during the month of November, it is all geared to designing a powerful woman. Now I get a lot of men that listen in and buy the books and, or book right now, but, and, you know, participate in our programs. However, this particular tele-summit we're having on December 7th is all geared around designing a powerful woman and we talk about everything from first, Making sure your mindset is empowered and strong and confident and fearless. And then as you do that, you get to know yourself through personal branding. And I should say, Jenny Craig is the one who's handling that body and mind, kind of making sure that you're in the right place before you start pursuing some other things, or at least so you can optimize and exploit other opportunities. Leveraging your skills and your talents. And then from there, Kathy Bass of Ladies Who Brand, and she is the branding lady, she's actually going to help from a personal branding perspective. And then from there, we get into Mindy's subject around how do you leverage, now that you're secure and confident and fearless and all those things, how do you leverage that in, in your personal brand So, what is— now what do you want to say with your body and mind and skills and talents? What do you want to put out in the world? And then from there, Cindy says, "Okay, you basically can do anything that you want to do." And we've all heard that, right? We can do anything we set our minds to. And now that we have our empowered mindset and we have our brand, we can go out and really take control of our business and life. So, that conversation today at 1 o'clock is going to dabble in a little bit of what she's gonna talk about on December 7th, but it actually— she's gonna kind of also steer off into providing you a lot more tips and education and advice as to how to really optimize everything that you do each and every day in both your business and your life so you can be as powerful and as effective as possible. And then Sherri Hale will help you promote yourself truthfully. And then I will kind of dabble in some tips and advice of how you can shed all those fears and insecurities that are holding you back from being able to pursue life fearlessly. So all of these webinars that we're doing at 1 o'clock after the radio show, which is at noon Eastern Time, all the webinars we're doing at 1 o'clock will introduce you to these ladies if you don't know them, but at the same time provide even more more free advice and tips and, um, and exercises that you can use in your work, at home, with your relationships, with your money, whatever the case might be today. And then it leads up to our big event that we're doing on December 7th, which is a 4-hour power-packed tele-summit on December 7th. And you can find out more information about that at sheddingthebitch.com/tele-summit. So anyway, so the reason why I brought that up is because as Scott was giving me this compliment, I kind of walked away. I felt very proud and humbled by it, and at the same time wanted to kind of assess for myself where I've been in the last 6 and 9 months and what did that really mean and how was that reflecting out to Scott or anyone else around me. So It seems as if Charlie wants to say hello. What's up, bud? Why don't you lay down? Okay, good boy. Yes, he loves being part of these radio shows. And like I said, I wish I could show you him on camera because he's a beautiful dog. But anyway, so let's get back. So I kind of started thinking about that compliment and where I've been, and I have to say If you can keep the concept in your mind, because I certainly now have, at least since Saturday when he's told me this, about the fact that that simple term, the CEO of your life— we all look up to CEOs, we all find them to be extremely intelligent, powerful, secure, successful, productive. Expert in something. CEOs are experts in managing and team building, at least we should hope, right? And, you know, there's a lot of other attributes and beliefs that we have when we kind of consider CEO. So if we look at those things and we say, okay, we want to apply those same things into our own life, whether it's with the family or friends or peers at work or with buddies that we, you know, hang out with, you know, on the basketball court, whatever, then that's a really kind of simple visual that we can create in our minds to help us always want to aspire to be that. So we talk a lot here on the show about affirmations and having little sayings or quotes or prayers that can kind of ground you, that you can kind of say over and over again in your mind so you believe. You begin if you don't believe, or you kind of really build on that belief system about yourself in order for you to create and obtain all the riches that you want in life. If we, if you and I want a good visual, I think CEO of Your Life is a really good visual to have. Now, my visual of being a CEO of my life is not within a suit because you know how I talk about the fact that I never want to have to put a kind of a corporate or a business suit on again. But at the same time, I can see myself kind of standing on a mountain. I have this really great, really kind of sassy, funky, but yet polished, you know, outfit on, maybe a dress with a nice really big spike high heel, and my hair is really curly and wavy and kind of blowing in the wind. And I have some, you know, kind of cool funky jewelry on, whatever the case might be. And actually, and I'm surrounded by my family and friends and close peers because that means that I am a CEO in that I am a leader, I influence, I can get people to act without ever saying a word, and I really kind of in control of kind of where I am and where I want to go. So, that's kind of my visual just right off the bat actually. But it does help you very quickly kind of create an image in your own mind about what it would mean if you were the CEO at home, you were the CEO at work, you were the CEO on the basketball court, with your friends, in your heart, and in your head. And those last two were probably the most important. That you feel really, really in control and secure and bold and fearless in your heart and head about how you are going out in the world each and every day. So I just love that visual, and I, you know, whether or not Mindy talks to it today or on December 7th or not, I think I'll even blog post this, so keep an eye out for that. Because I really did, I kind of Came home after that event, I was feeling really good about it. It was a, it was a kind of an entrepreneurial MBA program in like a day and a half, and then it also had an opportunity for entrepreneurs who are seeking investments to kind of pitch. And in order to pitch, you know, you need to kind of really know what the heck you're talking about and be able to do that succinctly. So in a— whether it was 90 seconds that a number of people pitched or it was 6 minutes that individuals like myself were given, I was pleased to learn that I was selected as one of the top 4 to be able to pitch to a panel for 6 minutes. But, you know, you have to kind of know what you're doing, feel confident about it, put a lot of passion and personality into it. And some people might say I don't lack in those areas, especially what I'm doing here. I just absolutely love it, and it just makes me want to gush all over the place, but I won't. I'll try not to. I'll try to refrain myself. But it does kind of— it does really, um, those type of experiences, especially if they turn out well, really allow you to see yourself very clearly in, in that visual of being a CEO of your life. But what if things don't go, go right? What if things aren't as pretty and passionate and personality as you'd like? I loved— I heard Brad Pitt. I don't know if anybody else— you might have heard him or saw his interview. It was on, I want to say, I guess Extra, the, the entertainment show Extra, and he was being interviewed by an Australian Today Show hostess, and he asked— or I'm sorry, she asked him about what would it mean, how would you define, you know, pure happiness, how would you define being content? And he said, well, I don't think there is such thing as happiness. And you know, you can almost like just kind of hesitate and gasp at that for a minute and just go, what the heck are you talking about? However, he went on to explain that he's content knowing that there'll be times when he's happy and there'll be times when he's not. So I thought about that, and he went on and he kind of reiterated it. He said, I am just content with the idea that this week or this day and right now at this very spot, I'm happy. And I couldn't ask for anything more than what I've got. But I know that there's a potential that next week I'm not going to be happy and I'm not going to be content. And that's okay, because I've even learned, and I'm sure you have, especially if you, if you've lived at all, if you're, if you're older than you know, 21, 22, and that might— some people might consider that to be on the young side, but you know what it means to really feel real happiness and/or real pain or hurt or disappointment or rejection or whatever you might want to call it. Bitches. Call it bitches. And therefore, the more years you are on this earth The more you realize that as bad as it seems at that very moment in time, it always passes. It always passes. Now, some people's moment in time can last minutes, days, weeks, months, and unfortunately even years. Unfortunately even years where they're living in, you know, misery. They're living in bitches. And they, they're, they're not sure how to get out of it. They're too scared to get out of it. They're not resourceful enough to get out of it. Or I would even argue they haven't felt enough pain and enough discomfort to just say, you know what, I just can't take it anymore and something has to change, because that's what it comes down to, is something has to change. And the bottom line, bottom line of that is so many people are fearful of change because it's much easier to know what you've got than to be uncertain of what might be, what you might be able to achieve, what you might be able to obtain, what other fears might be out there, other pains, other rejections might be out there. And therefore they kind of stay where they're at. And unfortunately, that can go for days, weeks, months, or even years. So I kind of would want to stress— so at one, I loved what Brad Pitt said. I just— I— it really just sunk in very easily last night when he— because it was last night on the show— that whole concept, if that we have to learn that we're gonna have good times and we're gonna have bad times, but the bad times are gonna, you know, go as quickly as we allow them and want them to go. And the happy times, we never appreciate, do we? The media certainly doesn't let us appreciate the happy times, the successes, the joy, so forth and so on. Oh, and that's another thing, I'll bring that up in a second too, but So what we just have to do, each and every one of us individually— and quite honestly, as much as I want to help you and help you shift and change, I can't. I can just provide you some tips and advice and guidance and maybe some funnies every once in a while, but I can't. That's all always up to you. But I know for myself, I just will always keep in mind that there's highs and there's lows, and it's— and you know how the old quotes and sayings will state, it's how we— I handle those ups and downs, how I relish and thank my blessings for the good, and I kind of confront and deal with the bad, and at the same time see them as blessings because we grow from hard times, we grow from failures, we grow from tragedy, that type of thing. So always keeping in mind that, that concept. And if we can be content in knowing that we'll have good times and bad times, hey, life, life might actually be not so hard, if that makes sense. So CEO of your life means you can kind of create and control and, and be empowered in any way, shape, or form that you choose for yourself. And life's ups and downs will all be based on how you respond to them. Now, there was one interesting thing too that happened over the weekend that I think I should also probably blog about, or at least put out there as well. I had another friend at the same event actually, and she and I have been kind of meeting up and passing each other at these business events for probably a couple years, 2 or 3 years now. And she has a great tool, Draw Your Success. It's a kind of an educational training leadership tool that she uses in the corporate environment. Bernadette Landrum, shout out to you, Bernadette. And she had heard about, she had heard about this, this meeting that I have up in New York on Thursday, and she had heard about I pitched a— I'm sorry, I pitched a film concept for my book. So all of you know about Shedding the Corporate Bitch. I pitched a film concept and I was asked to submit a treatment for it. And because I have very specific ideas of what, what a good, good film could be around that. So, you know, so
