Hi there, I'm Beth Ridley, leadership and workplace culture expert, and I am thrilled to welcome you to my Belonging Builder Learning Lab. This experience is all about boosting your impact as a leader and professional by embracing an inclusive mindset and nurturing a sense of belonging in others. By doing so, you'll truly reflect your organization's people centric values. You'll create an environment where everyone thrives and you'll tap into diversity diverse perspectives to fuel collaboration, innovation and better decisions. I was inspired to create this Learning Lab after seeing the transformative power of inclusive leadership firsthand when I worked at a major management consulting firm. Despite companies spending big bucks on the strategies they hired us to do so, many companies didn't realize that success hinges on how people work together to implement those strategies. So I noticed that belonging, or the lack of it, was a key factor in a team's success or failure. In meetings where no one felt comfortable speaking up unless they were echoing the senior most person's views, engagement plummeted and group think took over, leading to uninspired decisions and poor results. Conversely, meetings buzzing with a lively exchange of ideas indicated a strong sense of belonging was present when which led to innovative decisions and exceptional outcomes. The Belonging Builder Learning Lab is designed to replicate this success across more organizations and it's tailored for individuals like you with big ambitions and busy schedules. But this is not an ordinary training program. Consider it an invitation to co create the ideal workplace culture you envision with your peers. We provide the guidance to help you contribute to the ideal culture authentically. We deliver bite sized content to fit your busy schedule, and we offer practical strategies for immediate implementation. Your learning journey unfolds over nine lessons organized into three phases. We begin by fostering a safe and brave space for dialogue and introspection call, culminating in the creation of your personal belonging statement, basically a testament to why belonging matters to you and your work and your vision for better. Next, we focus on practicing inclusive behaviors grounded in self awareness, curiosity and understanding. This culminates in your personal commitment plan to weave these behaviors into your daily interaction. Finally, we emphasize accountability and consistency to turn new inclusive behaviors into lasting habits. You'll also explore how to deepen your inclusive leadership skills and apply them for broader impact. Each lesson features a brief explainer video and self reflection exercises. You'll join recurring group discussions with fellow participants to make learning more enjoyable and to keep what you're learning top of mind. These discussions will help you build deeper connections, trust and understanding with your fellow participants. While some discussion topics may push you outside of your comfort zone. Rest assured, you do not need to be an expert in any of this. Our discussions center on how you relate to universal themes such as curiosity and understanding. There are no wrong or right answers when it comes to sharing about yourself and listening and learning from others is at the core of inclusive leadership. Remember, the depth of your investment in this experience determines the richness of your outcomes. So approach the experience with sincerity and a spirit of discovery and growth.
