Welcome back. The art of a perfect cup of chai is crucial in Indian culture. It is very important to share community as well. And on today's community curated with no studios, we are learning all about the history and the importance of chai. And right now I'm joined by Beth Ridley for a quick overview. So, Beth, let's go ahead and talk about this event that's happening this week because it is a chance for the community to come together, to bond on something that maybe we haven't talked about before.
Yeah, I think it's just an opportunity to come together, learn something new, maybe take a little breather as we launch into the busy holiday season. And the spirit of this experience is really to share something that's meaningful to others. In the case of me, it's T and my friend chai to get people to share something about themselves, just to make connections.
Now it's very important that we talk about this too because this event is a virtual event happening on Thursday, December 8th at noon. And it's like you had mentioned off air, it is just something unique, different, that maybe you don't know what to give people on this holiday season. You don't want to do just something normal. Maybe this is a good way to go.
Yeah, and that's what we were thinking. Like it could be a fun team building experience. It's over lunch, so you're probably going to be at work with co workers and you know, learn something new together and you know, do something fun together that's a little bit unusual, push you outside of your comfort zone just a little bit while still having fun.
Now you love chai, right? You love tea. What's one thing that you learned from this experience that perhaps you didn't know about?
Okay, so my friend Bella is doing this with me and she's really the chai expert. And so she taught me to study saying, I'll have an order of chai tea when I go to Starbucks. Because that's essentially saying tea, tea, because chai is actually the Hindi word for tea. I thought it was a spice. So yeah, I want come. So you can save yourself more embarrassing moments like that.
Absolutely. And they won't tell you that you're wrong. They'll just be like, oh, okay, we'll get you on this tea. And you know, the way that you and Bella met was very interesting because she has a passion for sharing her culture, getting everyone involved, teaching everyone something specifically when it comes down to Indian culture. So how was that interaction when you first.
I met Bella at the Pfister Hotel. So she was sharing chai with strangers. And basically complimentary chai to anyone who walked through. I happen to be walking through. I love tea. I stopped, I met Bella, we chatted for an hour, and we've been friends ever since. And so I think the message is if you share a little bit about yourself, you never know what could happen in terms of. It opens the door for people to share something about them in return.
Absolutely. And she's the one who's going to be leading the conversation, leading the lesson.
She's gonna lead on how to make chai. Yes.
Okay, perfect. So a lot to look forward to there in terms of how can people register? Is it still open?
It is still open. You can go to the newestudio's website to register. You can follow me on LinkedIn Beth Ridley to get a registration link. And again, come with family, friends, co workers, neighbors. Everybody's invited.
Everyone's invited. And everyone loves Shy.
There we go.
I didn't say tea. I stopped myself. All right, all the information there on your screen know studios holiday chai tea experience is Thursday. Oh, I said it, didn't I?
Hard habit to break. I know.
